51 Die Gesamtzahl der gemusterten Israeliten betrug 601730 Mann.	51 These six hundred and one thousand seven hundred and thirty were the Israelites who were registered.
52 Der Herr sprach zu Mose:	52 The LORD said to Moses,
53 An diese Männer soll das Land als Erbbesitz verteilt werden, entsprechend der Zahl der verzeichneten Namen.	53 "Among these groups the land shall be divided as their heritage in keeping with the number of individuals in each group.
54 Wer mehr Namen zählt, dem sollst du einen größeren Erbbesitz geben; wer weniger zählt, dem sollst du einen kleineren Erbbesitz geben. Jedem soll sein Erbbesitz entsprechend der Zahl der bei ihm Gemusterten gegeben werden.	54 To a large group you shall assign a large heritage, to a small group a small heritage, each group receiving its heritage in proportion to the number of men registered in it.
55 Doch soll das Land durch das Los verteilt werden und sie sollen ihren Erbbesitz nach den Namen der Stämme ihrer Väter erhalten.	55 But the land shall be divided by lot, as the heritage of the various ancestral tribes.
56 Der Erbbesitz soll durch das Los zwischen den großen und den kleinen Stämmen aufgeteilt werden.	56 As the lot falls shall each group, large or small, be assigned its heritage."
57 Zu den im Stamm Levi Gemusterten gehörten folgende Sippen: von Gerschon die Sippe der Gerschoniter, von Kehat die Sippe der Kehatiter, von Merari die Sippe der Merariter.	57 The Levites registered by clans were: through Gershon the clan of the Gershonites, through Kohath the clan of the Kohathites, through Merari the clan of the Merarites.
58 Das sind die Sippen Levis: die Sippe der Libniter, die Sippe der Hebroniter, die Sippe der Machliter, die Sippe der Muschiter, die Sippe der Korachiter. Kehat zeugte Amram.	58 These also were clans of Levi: the clan of the Libnites, the clan of the Hebronites, the clan of the Mahlites, the clan of the Mushites, the clan of the Korahites. Among the descendants of Kohath was Amram,
59 Die Frau Amrams hieß Jochebed; sie war die Tochter Levis, die dem Levi noch in Ägypten geboren wurde. Sie gebar dem Amram Aaron und Mose sowie deren Schwester Mirjam.	59 whose wife was named Jochebed. She also was of the tribe of Levi, born to the tribe in Egypt. 61 Nadab und Abihu aber waren gestorben, als sie dem Herrn ein unerlaubtes Feueropfer darbrachten.	61 But Nadab and Abihu died when they offered profane fire before the LORD.
62 Bei den Leviten wurden im Ganzen 23000 Mann gemustert, alle männlichen Personen im Alter von einem Monat und darüber. Sie wurden aber nicht zusammen mit den Israeliten gemustert; denn ihnen wurde kein Erbbesitz wie den anderen Israeliten gegeben.	62 The total number of male Levites one month or more of age, who were registered, was twenty-three thousand. They were not registered with the other Israelites, however, for no heritage was given them among the Israelites.
63 Das waren die von Mose und dem Priester Eleasar gemusterten Israeliten, die sie in den Steppen von Moab am Jordan bei Jericho gemustert hatten.	63 These, then, were the men registered by Moses and the priest Eleazar in the census of the Israelites taken on the plains of Moab along the Jericho stretch of the Jordan.
64 Unter ihnen war niemand mehr von denen, die Mose und der Priester Aaron in der Wüste Sinai gemustert hatten.	64 Among them there was not a man of those who had been registered by Moses and the priest Aaron in the census of the Israelites taken in the desert of Sinai.
65 Denn über sie hatte der Herr ja gesagt: Sie müssen in der Wüste sterben. Daher war keiner von ihnen am Leben geblieben außer Kaleb, der Sohn Jefunnes, und Josua, der Sohn Nuns.	65 For the LORD had told them that they would surely die in the desert, and not one of them was left except Caleb, son of Jephunneh, and Joshua, son of Nun.
