Unto the end, for the sons of Core, for the hidden. | 1 [For the choirmaster Of the sons of Korah For oboe Song] God is both refuge and strength for us, ahelp always ready in trouble; |
Our God is our refuge and strength: a helper in troubles, which have found us exceedingly. | 2 so we shall not be afraid though the earth be in turmoil, though mountains tumble into the depths ofthe sea, |
Therefore we will not fear, when the earth shall be troubled; and the mountains shall be removed into the heart of the sea. | 3 and its waters roar and seethe, and the mountains totter as it heaves. (Yahweh Sabaoth is with us, ourcitadel, the God of Jacob.)Pause |
Their waters roared and were troubled: the mountains were troubled with his strength. | 4 There is a river whose streams bring joy to God's city, it sanctifies the dwel ing of the Most High. |
The stream of the river maketh the city of God joyful: the most High hath sanctified his own tabernacle. | 5 God is in the city, it cannot fal ; at break of day God comes to its rescue. |
God is in the midst thereof, it shall not be moved: God will help it in the morning early. | 6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms are tumbling, when he raises his voice the earth crumbles away. |
Nations were troubled, and kingdoms were bowed down: he uttered his voice, the earth trembled. | 7 Yahweh Sabaoth is with us, our citadel, the God of Jacob. Pause |
The Lord of armies is with us: the God of Jacob is our protector. | 8 Come, consider the wonders of Yahweh, the astounding deeds he has done on the earth; |
Come and behold ye the works of the Lord: what wonders he hath done upon earth, | 9 he puts an end to wars over the whole wide world, he breaks the bow, he snaps the spear, shields heburns in the fire. |
making wars to cease even to the end of the earth. He shall destroy the bow, and break the weapons: and the shield he shall burn in the fire. | 10 'Be stil and acknowledge that I am God, supreme over nations, supreme over the world.' |
Be still and see that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, and I will be exalted in the earth. | 11 Yahweh Sabaoth is with us, our citadel, the God of Jacob.Pause |
The Lord of armies is with us: the God of Jacob is our protector. |
