Salmos 91

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Tú que vives al amparo del Altísimo y resides a la sombra del Todopoderoso,	1 You who live in the secret place of Elyon, spend your nights in the shelter of Shaddai,
2 di al Señor: «Mi refugio y mi baluarte, mi Dios, en quien confío».	2 saying to Yahweh, 'My refuge, my fortress, my God in whom I trust!'
3 El te librará de la red del cazador y de la peste perniciosa;	3 He rescues you from the snare of the fowler set on destruction;
4 te cubrirá con sus plumas, y hallarás un refugio bajo sus alas.	4 he covers you with his pinions, you find shelter under his wings. His constancy is shield andprotection.
5 No temerás los terrores de la noche, ni la flecha que vuela de día,	5 You need not fear the terrors of night, the arrow that flies in the daytime,
6 ni la peste que acecha en las tinieblas, ni la plaga que devasta a pleno sol.	6 the plague that stalks in the darkness, the scourge that wreaks havoc at high noon.
7 Aunque caigan mil a tu izquierda y diez mil a tu derecha, tú no serás alcanzado:	7 Though a thousand fal at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, you yourself wil remainunscathed.
8 Con sólo dirigir una mirada, verás el castigo de los malos,	8 You have only to keep your eyes open to see how the wicked are repaid,
9 porque hiciste del Señor tu refugio y pusiste como defensa al Altísimo.	9 you who say, 'Yahweh my refuge!' and make Elyon your fortress.
10 No te alcanzará ningún mal, ninguna plaga se acercará a tu carpa,	10 No disaster can overtake you, no plague come near your tent;
11 porque hiciste del Señor tu refugio y pusiste como defensa al Altísimo	11 he has given his angels orders about you to guard you wherever you go.
12 Ellos te llevarán en sus manos para que no tropieces contra ninguna piedra;	12 They will carry you in their arms in case you trip over a stone.
13 caminarás sobre leones y víboras, pisotearás cachorros de león y serpientes.	13 You wil walk upon wild beast and adder, you wil trample young lions and snakes.
14 «El se entregó a mí, por eso, yo lo glorificaré; lo protegeré, porque conoce mi Nombre;	14 'Since he clings to me I rescue him, I raise him high, since he acknowledges my name.
15 me invocará, y yo le responderé. Estará con él en el peligro, lo defenderé y lo glorificaré;	15 He cal s to me and I answer him: in distress I am at his side, I rescue him and bring him honour.
16 le haré gozar de una larga vida y le haré ver mi salvación».	16 I shal satisfy him with long life, and grant him to see my salvation.'
