Epístola aos Filipenses 4

SAGRADA BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Portanto, meus muito amados e saudosos irmãos, alegria e coroa minha, continuai assim firmes no Senhor, caríssimos.	1 So then, my brothers and dear friends whom I miss so much, my joy and my crown, hold firm in theLord, dear friends.
2 Exorto a Evódia, exorto igualmente a Síntique que vivam em paz no Senhor.	2 I urge Euodia, and I urge Syntyche to come to agreement with each other in the Lord;
3 E a ti, fiel Sínzigo, também rogo que as ajudes, pois que trabalharam comigo no Evangelho, com Clemente e com os demais colaboradores meus, cujos nomes estão inscritos no livro da vida.	3 and I ask you, Syzygus, real y to be a 'partner' and help them. These women have struggled hard for thegospel with me, along with Clement and al my other fel ow-workers, whose names are written in the book of life.
4 Alegrai-vos sempre no Senhor. Repito: alegrai-vos!	4 Always be joyful, then, in the Lord; I repeat, be joyful.
5 Seja conhecida de todos os homens a vossa bondade. O Senhor está próximo.	5 Let your good sense be obvious to everybody. The Lord is near.
6 Não vos inquieteis com nada! Em todas as circunstâncias apresentai a Deus as vossas preocupações, mediante a oração, as súplicas e a ação de graças.	6 Never worry about anything; but tel God all your desires of every kind in prayer and petition shotthrough with gratitude,
7 E a paz de Deus, que excede toda a inteligência, haverá de guardar vossos corações e vossos pensamentos, em Cristo Jesus.	7 and the peace of God which is beyond our understanding wil guard your hearts and your thoughts inChrist Jesus.
8 Além disso, irmãos, tudo o que é verdadeiro, tudo o que é nobre, tudo o que é justo, tudo o que é puro, tudo o que é amável, tudo o que é de boa fama, tudo o que é virtuoso e louvável, eis o que deve ocupar vossos pensamentos.	8 Finally, brothers, let your minds be fil ed with everything that is true, everything that is honourable,everything that is upright and pure, everything that we love and admire -- with whatever is good andpraiseworthy.
9 O que aprendestes, recebestes, ouvistes e observastes em mim, isto praticai, e o Deus da paz estará convosco.	9 Keep doing everything you learnt from me and were told by me and have heard or seen me doing. Thenthe God of peace will be with you.
10 Fiquei imensamente contente, no Senhor, porque, finalmente, vi reflorescer o vosso interesse por mim. É verdade que sempre pensáveis nisso, mas vos faltava oportunidade de mostrá-lo.	10 As for me, I am full of joy in the Lord, now that at last your consideration for me has blossomed again;though I recognise that you really did have consideration before, but had no opportunity to show it.
11 Não é minha penúria que me faz falar. Aprendi a contentar-me com o que tenho.	11 I do not say this because I have lacked anything; I have learnt to manage with whatever I have.
12 Sei viver na penúria, e sei também viver na abundância. Estou acostumado a todas as vicissitudes: a ter fartura e a passar fome, a ter abundância e a padecer necessidade.	12 I know how to live modestly, and I know how to live luxuriously too: in every way now I have masteredthe secret of al conditions: ful stomach and empty stomach, plenty and poverty.
13 Tudo posso naquele que me conforta.	13 There is nothing I cannot do in the One who strengthens me.
14 Contudo, fizestes bem em tomar parte na minha tribulação.	14 Al the same, it was good of you to share with me in my hardships.
15 Vós que sois de Filipos, bem sabeis como, no início do meu ministério evangélico, quando parti da Macedônia, nenhuma comunidade abriu comigo contas de deve-haver, senão vós somente.	15 In the early days of the gospel, as you of Philippi wel know, when I left Macedonia, no church otherthan yourselves made common account with me in the matter of expenditure and receipts. You were the onlyones;
16 Já por duas vezes mandastes para Tessalônica o que me era necessário.	16 and what is more, you have twice sent me what I needed in Thessalonica.
17 Não é o donativo em si que eu procuro, e sim os lucros que vão aumentando a vosso crédito.	17 It is not the gift that I value most; what I value is the interest that is mounting up in your account.
18 Recebi tudo, e em abundância. Estou bem provido, depois que recebi de Epafrodito a vossa oferta: foi um suave perfume, um sacrifício que Deus aceita com agrado.	18 I have al that I need and more: I am ful y provided, now that I have received from Epaphroditus theoffering that you sent, a pleasing smel , the sacrifice which is acceptable and pleasing to God.
19 Em recompensa, o meu Deus há de prover magnificamente a todas as vossas necessidades, segundo a sua glória, em Jesus Cristo.	19 And my God will fulfil al your needs out of the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
20 A Deus, nosso Pai, seja a glória, por toda a eternidade! Amém.	20 And so glory be to God our Father, for ever and ever. Amen.
21 Saudai em Jesus Cristo todos os santos. Os irmãos que estão comigo vos saúdam.	21 My greetings to every one of God's holy people in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me sendyou their greetings.
22 Todos os santos vos saúdam, especialmente os da casa de César.	22 Al God's holy people send you their greetings, especially those of Caesar's household.
23 A graça do Senhor Jesus Cristo esteja com o vosso espírito!	23 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
