SAGRADA BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Cântico das peregrinações. Para os montes levanto os olhos: de onde me virá socorro?	1 [Song of Ascents] I lift up my eyes to the mountains; where is my help to come from?
2 O meu socorro virá do Senhor, criador do céu e da terra.	2 My help comes from Yahweh who made heaven and earth.
3 Ele não permitirá que teus pés resvalem; não dormirá aquele que te guarda.	3 May he save your foot from stumbling; may he, your guardian, not fall asleep!
4 Não, não há de dormir, nem adormecer o guarda de Israel.	4 You see -- he neither sleeps nor slumbers, the guardian of Israel.
5 O Senhor é teu guarda, o Senhor é teu abrigo, sempre ao teu lado.	5 Yahweh is your guardian, your shade, Yahweh, at your right hand.
6 De dia, o sol não te fará mal; nem a lua durante a noite.	6 By day the sun will not strike you, nor the moon by night.
7 O Senhor te resguardará de todo o mal; ele velará sobre tua alma.	7 Yahweh guards you from al harm Yahweh guards your life,
8 O Senhor guardará os teus passos, agora e para todo o sempre.	8 Yahweh guards your comings and goings, henceforth and for ever.
