Livro dos Salmos 12

SAGRADA BIBLIA	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 Ao mestre de canto. Uma oitava abaixo. Salmo de Davi. Salvai-nos, Senhor, pois desaparecem os homens piedosos, e a lealdade se extingue entre os homens.	1 Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.
2 Uns não têm para com os outros senão palavras mentirosas; adulação na boca, duplicidade no coração.	2 They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.
3 Que o Senhor extirpe os lábios hipócritas e a língua insolente.	3 The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:
4 Aqueles que dizem: Dominaremos pela nossa língua, nossos lábios trabalham para nós, quem nos será senhor?	4 Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?
5 Responde, porém, o Senhor: Por causa da aflição dos humildes e dos gemidos dos pobres, levantar-me-ei para lhes dar a salvação que desejam.	5 For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.
6 As palavras do Senhor são palavras sinceras, puras como a prata acrisolada, isenta de ganga, sete vezes depurada.	6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
7 Vós, Senhor, haveis de nos guardar, defender-nos-eis sempre dessa raça maléfica,	7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
8 porque os ímpios andam de todos os lados, enquanto a vileza se ergue entre os homens.	8 The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.
