Psalms 90

1 The Praise of a Canticle, of David. Whoever dwells with the assistance of the Most High will abide in the protection of the God of heaven.	1 Prière. De Moïse, homme de Dieu. Seigneur, tu as été pour nous un refuge d'âge en âge.

3 For he has freed me from the snare of those who go hunting, and from the harsh word.	3 Tu fais revenir le mortel à la poussière en disant: "Revenez, fils d'Adam! "
4 He will overshadow you with his shoulders, and you will hope under his wings.	4 Car mille ans sont à tes yeux comme le jour d'hier qui passe, comme une veille dans la nuit.
5 His truth will surround you with a shield. You will not be afraid: before the terror of the night,	5 Tu les submerges de sommeil, ils seront le matin comme l'herbe qui pousse;

7 A thousand will fall before your side and ten thousand before your right hand. Yet it will not draw near you.	7 Par ta colère, nous sommes consumés, par ta fureur, épouvantés.
8 So then, truly, you will consider with your eyes, and you will see the retribution of sinners.	8 Tu as mis nos torts devant toi, nos secrets sous l'éclat de ta face.
9 For you, O Lord, are my hope. You have set the Most High as your refuge.	9 Sous ton courroux tous nos jours déclinent, nous consommons nos années comme un soupir.
10 Disaster will not draw near to you, and the scourge will not approach your tabernacle.	10 Le temps de nos années, quelque 70 ans,
11 For he has given his Angels charge over you, so as to preserve you in all your ways.	11 Qui sait la force de ta colère et, te craignant, connaît ton courroux?
12 With their hands, they will carry you, lest you hurt your foot against a stone.	12 Fais-nous savoir comment compter nos jours, que nous venions de coeur à la sagesse!
13 You will walk over the asp and the king serpent, and you will trample the lion and the dragon.	13 Reviens, Yahvé! Jusques à quand? Prends en pitié tes serviteurs.
14 Because he has hoped in me, I will free him. I will protect him because he has known my name.	14 Rassasie-nous de ton amour au matin, nous serons dans la joie et le chant tous les jours.
15 He will cry out to me, and I will heed him. I am with him in tribulation. I will rescue him, and I will glorify him.	15 Rends-nous en joies tes jours de châtiment et les années où nous connûmes le malheur.
16 I will fill him with length of days. And I will reveal to him my salvation.	16 Paraisse ton oeuvre pour tes serviteurs, ta splendeur soit sur leurs enfants!
	17 La douceur du Seigneur soit sur nous! Confirme l'ouvrage de nos mains!
