1 [Prayer Of Moses, man of God] Lord, you have been our refuge from age to age.	1 (Laude a cantico. Di David). Chi riposa nell'aiuto dell'Altissimo vivrà sotto la protezione del Dio del cielo.
2 Before the mountains were born, before the earth and the world came to birth, from eternity to eternityyou are God.	2 Dirà al Signore: « Tu sei il mio protettore, il mio rifugio. E' il mio Dio: in lui la mia speranza.
3 You bring human beings to the dust, by saying, 'Return, children of Adam.'	3 Egli mi liberò dal laccio dei cacciatori e dalle aspre parole ».
4 A thousand years are to you like a yesterday which has passed, like a watch of the night.	4 Ti coprirà colle sue ali e sotto le sue penne troverai rifugio.
5 You flood them with sleep -- in the morning they wil be like growing grass:	5 La sua verità ti circonderà come scudo, non temerai i notturni spaventi,
6 in the morning it is blossoming and growing, by evening it is withered and dry.	6 Nè saetta che vola di giorno, nè male che s'insinua fra le tenebre, nè assalto del demonio del mezzogiorno.
7 For we have been destroyed by your wrath, dismayed by your anger.	7 Ne cadran mille al tuo fianco e dieci mila alla tua destra, ma a te non s'avvicineranno.
8 You have taken note of our guilty deeds, our secrets in the ful light of your presence.	8 Però guardando coi tuoi propri occhi vedrai il castigo che tocca ai peccatori.
9 Al our days pass under your wrath, our lives are over like a sigh.	9 « O Signore, tu sei la mia speranza »: hai preso l'Altissimo a tuo rifugio.
10 The span of our life is seventy years -- eighty for those who are strong -- but their whole extent isanxiety and trouble, they are over in a moment and we are gone.	10 Non si avvicinerà a te il male, e il flagello non si accosterà alla tua tenda;
11 Who feels the power of your anger, or who that fears you, your wrath?	11 Perché ai suoi angeli ha dato per te quest'ordine: di custodirti in tutte le tue vie:
12 Teach us to count up the days that are ours, and we shal come to the heart of wisdom.	12 Ti porteranno sulle loro palme, affinchè il tuo piede non inciampi nei sassi.
13 Come back, Yahweh! How long must we wait? Take pity on your servants.	13 Camminerai sopra l'aspide e il basilisco e calpesterai il leone e il dragone.
14 Each morning fill us with your faithful love, we shal sing and be happy all our days;	14 Perché ha sperato in me, lo libererò, lo proteggerò; perchè ha conosciuto il mio nome.
15 let our joy be as long as the time that you afflicted us, the years when we experienced disaster.	15 Alzerà a me la voce, ed io lo esaudirò, con lui sono nella tribolazione, lo libererò e lo glorificherò.
16 Show your servants the deeds you do, let their children enjoy your splendour!	16 Lo sazierò con lunga vita e gli farò vederti la mia salvezza ».
