NEW JERUSALEMKING JAMES BIBLE
[Prayer Of Moses, man of God] Lord, you have been our refuge from age to age.1 LORD, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.
Before the mountains were born, before the earth and the world came to birth, from eternity to eternityyou are God.2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
You bring human beings to the dust, by saying, 'Return, children of Adam.'3 Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.
A thousand years are to you like a yesterday which has passed, like a watch of the night.4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
You flood them with sleep -- in the morning they wil be like growing grass:5 Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up.
in the morning it is blossoming and growing, by evening it is withered and dry.6 In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.
For we have been destroyed by your wrath, dismayed by your anger.7 For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.
You have taken note of our guilty deeds, our secrets in the ful light of your presence.8 Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.
Al our days pass under your wrath, our lives are over like a sigh.9 For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.
The span of our life is seventy years -- eighty for those who are strong -- but their whole extent isanxiety and trouble, they are over in a moment and we are gone.10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
Who feels the power of your anger, or who that fears you, your wrath?11 Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.
Teach us to count up the days that are ours, and we shal come to the heart of wisdom.12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Come back, Yahweh! How long must we wait? Take pity on your servants.13 Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.
Each morning fill us with your faithful love, we shal sing and be happy all our days;14 O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
let our joy be as long as the time that you afflicted us, the years when we experienced disaster.15 Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.
Show your servants the deeds you do, let their children enjoy your splendour!16 Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children.
May the sweetness of the Lord be upon us, to confirm the work we have done!17 And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.
