1 A canticle of a psalm for Asaph.	1 - Al corifeo: per la vendemmia (?). Salmo dei figliuoli di Core.
2 O God, who shall be like to thee? hold not thy peace, neither be thou still, O God.	2 Quanto sono amabili i tuoi tabernacoli, o Signore degli eserciti!
3 For lo, thy enemies have made a noise: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.	3 Anela e si strugge l'anima mia [per il desiderio de]gli atri del Signore: il mio cuore e la mia carne esultano verso il Dio vivente.
4 They have taken a malicious counsel against thy people, and have consulted against thy saints.	4 Anche il passero si trova una casa, e la tortora un nido per sè, dove riporre i suoi pulcini: i tuoi altari, o Signor degli eserciti, o mio re e mio Dio!
5 They have said: Come and let us destroy them, so that they be not a nation: and let the name of Israel be remembered no more.	5 Beati quei che abitano nella tua casa, o Signore: ne' secoli de' secoli ti loderanno.
6 For they have contrived with one consent: they have made a covenant together against thee,	6 Beato l'uomo il cui sostegno è per te, che di salire dispone in cuor suo,
7 the tabernacles of the Edomites, and the Ismahelites: Moab, and the Agarens,	7 per la Valle del Pianto, al luogo che [Dio] s'è stabilito.
8 Gebal, and Ammon and Amalec: the Philistines, with the inhabitants of Tyre.	8 Perchè benedizione largirà [loro] il legislatore [divino]: andran di vigore in vigore [lungo il sacro pellegrinaggio], [finchè] apparirà [loro] il Dio degli dèi in Sion.
9 Yea, and the Assyrian also is joined with them: they are come to the aid of the sons of Lot.	9 [Diranno]: «O Signore, Dio degli eserciti, ascolta la mia preghiera, porgi orecchio, o Dio di Giacobbe.
10 Do to them as thou didst to Madian and to Sisara: as to Jabin at the brook of Cisson.	10 Guarda, o Dio, protettore nostro, e mira la faccia del tuo Unto!».
11 Who perished at Endor: and became as dung for the earth.	11 Davvero val meglio un giorno ne' tuoi atri, che mille [altrove]! Preferisco giacere a terra nella casa del mio Dio, che abitar nelle tende degli empi.
12 Make their princes like Oreb, and Zeb, and Zebee, and Salmana. All their princes,	12 Perchè bontà e fedeltà Iddio ama, grazia e glorie largisce il Signore:
13 who have said: Let us possess the sanctuary of God for an inheritance.	13 non priva di beni quei che camminan nell'innocenza. O Signor degli eserciti, beato l'uomo che spera in te!
14 O my God, make them like a wheel; and as stubble before the wind.
15 As fire which burneth the wood: and as a flame burning mountains:
16 So shalt thou pursue them with thy tempest: and shalt trouble them in thy wrath.
17 Fill their faces with shame; and they shall seek thy name, O Lord.
18 Let them be ashamed and troubled for ever and ever: and let them be confounded and perish.
19 And let them know that the Lord is thy name: thou alone art the most High over all the earth.
