Ezechielis 35

VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Et factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens :	1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,
2 Fili hominis, pone faciem tuam adversum montem Seir, et prophetabis de eo, et dices illi :	2 'Son of man, turn towards Mount Seir and prophesy against it.
3 Hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Ecce ego ad te, mons Seir : et extendam manum meam super te, et dabo te desolatum atque desertum.	3 Say to it, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Look, I am against you, Mount Seir; I shall stretch out my handagainst you; I shal make you a desolate waste;
4 Urbes tuas demoliar, et tu desertus eris : et scies quia ego Dominus.	4 I shal lay your towns in ruins. You wil become a waste and you wil know that I am Yahweh.
5 Eo quod fueris inimicus sempiternus, et concluseris filios Israël in manus gladii in tempore afflictionis eorum, in tempore iniquitatis extremæ :	5 Since, fol owing a long-standing hatred, you betrayed the Israelites to the sword on the day of theirdistress, on the day when an end came for their guilt,
6 propterea vivo ego, dicit Dominus Deus, quoniam sanguini tradam te, et sanguis te persequetur : et cum sanguinem oderis, sanguis persequetur te.	6 very wel , as I live -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- I destine you to bloodshed, and bloodshed wilpursue you. I swear it; you have incurred guilt by shedding blood, and bloodshed will pursue you.
7 Et dabo montem Seir desolatum atque desertum, et auferam de eo euntem et redeuntem.	7 I shal make Mount Seir a desolate waste and denude it of anyone travel ing to and fro.
8 Et implebo montes ejus occisorum suorum : in collibus tuis, et in vallibus tuis atque in torrentibus, interfecti gladio cadent.	8 I shal fil its mountains with its slaughtered; on your hills, in your val eys and in all your ravines, thoseslaughtered by the sword will fal .
9 In solitudines sempiternas tradam te, et civitates tuæ non habitabuntur : et scietis quia ego Dominus Deus.	9 I shal make you a perpetual waste, your towns wil never be inhabited again, and you wil know that Iam Yahweh.
10 Eo quod dixeris : Duæ gentes et duæ terræ meæ erunt, et hæreditate possidebo eas, cum Dominus esset ibi :	10 "Since you said: The two nations and the two countries wil be mine; we are going to take possessionof it, although Yahweh was there,
11 propterea vivo ego, dicit Dominus Deus, quia faciam juxta iram tuam, et secundum zelum tuum, quem fecisti odio habens eos : et notus efficiar per eos, cum te judicavero.	11 very well, as I live -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- I shal act with the same anger and jealousy as youacted in your hatred for them. I shall make myself known for their sake, when I punish you,
12 Et scies quia ego Dominus audivi universa opprobria tua quæ locutus es de montibus Israël, dicens : Deserti nobis ad devorandum dati sunt.	12 and you wil know that I, Yahweh, have heard al the blasphemies which you have uttered against themountains of Israel, such as: They have been laid waste, they have been given to us for us to devour.
13 Et insurrexistis super me ore vestro, et derogastis adversum me verba vestra : ego audivi.	13 Great was your insolence towards me, many your speeches against me; I have heard!
14 Hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Lætante universa terra, in solitudinem te redigam :	14 Lord Yahweh says this: To the joy of the whole world, I shal make you a waste.
15 sicuti gavisus es super hæreditatem domus Israël eo quod fuerit dissipata, sic faciam tibi : dissipatus eris, mons Seir, et Idumæa omnis : et scient quia ego Dominus.	15 Since you rejoiced because the heritage of the House of Israel had been laid waste, I shal do thesame to you, Mount Seir; and you wil become a waste, and so wil the whole of Edom; and they will know that Iam Yahweh.' "
