1 Queste sono le parole dello libro, lo quale mandò Ieremia profeta di Ierusalem allo rimanente. de' vecchi della transmigrazione, e alli sacerdoti e alli profeti, e a tutto il popolo il quale avea menato Nabucodonosor di Ierusalem in Babilonia, (quando menò Ieconia figliuolo di Ioachim re di Giuda);	1 Now these are the words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem unto the residue of the elders which were carried away captives, and to the priests, and to the prophets, and to all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon;
2 poi che uscio Ieconia re e la donna e li castaldi e li principi di Giuda e di Ierusalem, e lo fabbro e l' orafo di Ierusalem;	2 (After that Jeconiah the king, and the queen, and the eunuchs, the princes of Judah and Jerusalem, and the carpenters, and the smiths, were departed from Jerusalem;)
3 in mano [di Elasa], figliuolo di Sefan e di Gamaria figliuolo d' Elcia, i quali mandò Sedecia [re di Giuda] a Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia, [in Babilonia], dicendo:	3 By the hand of Elasah the son of Shaphan, and Gemariah the son of Hilkiah, (whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent unto Babylon to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon) saying,
4 questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti, Iddio d'Israel, a tutta la transmigrazione, la quale menò di Ierusalem in Babilonia:	4 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all that are carried away captives, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon;
5 edificate case, e abitate; e piantate li orti, e mangiate lo loro frutto.	5 Build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them;
6 Togliete moglie, e ingenerate figliuoli e figliuole; e date alli vostri figliuoli moglie, e alle vostre figliuole date uomini, e parturiscano figliuoli e figliuole; e moltiplicatevi, e non siate pochi in numero.	6 Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may be increased there, and not diminished.
7 E cercate la pace della cittade, nella quale io v' hoe fatto andare; e orate a Dio per lei, però che nella sua pace sarà la vostra.	7 And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.
8 Questo dice Iddio delli esèrciti, Iddio d' Israel: non vi seducano i profeti vostri, i quali sono nel mezzo di voi, e i vostri indovini; e non attendete a' vostri sogni, i quali voi sognate.	8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.
9 Però ch' egli profetano a voi falsamente nel mio nome, e non li mandai, dice Iddio.	9 For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the LORD.
10 [Questo dice Iddio]: quando cominciaranno a compiere settanta anni in Babilonia, visiterovvi, e resusciterò sopra voi la mia buona parola, e rimenerovvi a questo luogo.	10 For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.
11 Io soe le cogitazioni le quali io penso sopra voi, dice Iddio, cogitazioni di pace, e non di afflizione, acciò ch' io vi dia la fede e la pazienza.	11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
12 E voi chiamerete me, e anderete; e orerete, e io esaudirò voi.	12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
13 Addomanderete me, e troverete me, quando mi saprete [cercare] con tutto il vostro cuore.	13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
14 Sarò trovato da voi, dice Iddio; e riducerò la vostra cattività, e radunerò voi di tutte le genti, dice Iddio, e di tutti li luoghi dove io vi cacciai; e farovvi ritornare dal luogo dove io vi feci andare,	14 And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.
15 sì che direte: Iddio resusciterà [a noi] li profeti in Babilonia.	15 Because ye have said, The LORD hath raised us up prophets in Babylon;
16 Però che questo dice Iddio allo signore lo quale siede sopra la sedia di David, e a tutto il popolo abitatore di questa terra, ai vostri fratelli i quali non sono usciti con voi nella transmigrazione (di Babilonia).	16 Know that thus saith the LORD of the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and of all the people that dwelleth in this city, and of your brethren that are not gone forth with you into captivity;
17 Questo dice lo Signore (Iddio) delli esèrciti: ecco io metterò in loro lo coltello, e fame e pestilenza; e metterò loro come fichi rei, i quali non si possono mangiare, però che sono pessimi.	17 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like vile figs, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.
18 E perseguiterò loro con coltello e con fame e con pestilenza; e darolli nel tormento a tutti li reami della terra; in maledizione e in stupore e in sufolamento e in obbrobrio a tutte le genti, [al]le quali io li gittai.	18 And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and an hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I have driven them:
19 Però che non udirono le parole, dice Iddio, le quali io mandai a loro per li miei servi profeti, levandomi di notte, e mettendo (parole); e non mi udiste, dice Iddio.	19 Because they have not hearkened to my words, saith the LORD, which I sent unto them by my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them; but ye would not hear, saith the LORD.
20 Voi adunque udite la parola di Dio, tutta la transmigrazione, la quale io misi fuori di Ierusalem in Babilonia.	20 Hear ye therefore the word of the LORD, all ye of the captivity, whom I have sent from Jerusalem to Babylon:
21 Questo dice Iddio Signore delli esèrciti Iddio d' Israel, ad Acab, figliuolo di Colia, e a Sedecia, figliuolo di Maasia, i quali profetano a voi nel mio nome con bugie: ecco io [li] darò in mano di Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia; e percoteralli nelli vostri occhi.	21 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, of Ahab the son of Kolaiah, and of Zedekiah the son of Maaseiah, which prophesy a lie unto you in my name; Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall slay them before your eyes;
22 E sarà ricevuta di loro maledizione a tutta la transmigrazione di Giuda, la quale è in Babilonia, dicente: porti te Iddio come Sedecia, e come Acab, li quali frisse lo re di Babilonia nel fuoco.	22 And of them shall be taken up a curse by all the captivity of Judah which are in Babylon, saying, The LORD make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire;
23 Però che feciono sciocchezza in Israel, e hanno commesso adulterio nelle mogli de' loro amici, e hanno parlato la parola nel mio nome con bugie, la quale cosa io non comandai loro; io sono giudice. e testimonio, dice Iddio.	23 Because they have committed villany in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbours' wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I have not commanded them; even I know, and am a witness, saith the LORD.
24 E a Semeia Neelamite [dirai]:	24 Thus shalt thou also speak to Shemaiah the Nehelamite, saying,
25 Questo dice (Iddio) lo Signore delli esèrciti, Iddio d' Israel: però che mandasti lo libro nel tuo nome a tutto il popolo il quale è in Ierusalem, e a Sofonia figliuolo di Maasia sacerdote, e a tutti li sacerdoti, dicendo:	25 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, Because thou hast sent letters in thy name unto all the people that are at Jerusalem, and to Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, saying,
26 Iddio ti diede sacerdote per Ioiade sacerdote, che tu sia guida nella casa di Dio sopra ogni uomo invasato di demonia e profetante, che tu li metta in legame e in carcere.	26 The LORD hath made thee priest in the stead of Jehoiada the priest, that ye should be officers in the house of the LORD, for every man that is mad, and maketh himself a prophet, that thou shouldest put him in prison, and in the stocks.
27 E ora per che non riprendesti Ieremia da Anatot, il quale profeta a voi?	27 Now therefore why hast thou not reproved Jeremiah of Anathoth, which maketh himself a prophet to you?
28 Però che sopra questo e' mandò in Babilonia [a noi], dicendo: lungo è; edificate case, e abitate; e piantate li orti, e mangiate loro frutti.	28 For therefore he sent unto us in Babylon, saying, This captivity is long: build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
29 E Sofonia sacerdote leggeo questo libro nelle orecchie di Ieremia profeta.	29 And Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet.
30 E disse Iddio a Ieremia:	30 Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,
31 Manda a ogni transmigrazione, dicendo: questo dice Iddio a Semeia Neelamite: però che vi profetò Semeia, e io nol mandai, e fecevi confidare in bugie;	31 Send to all them of the captivity, saying, Thus saith the LORD concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite; Because that Shemaiah hath prophesied unto you, and I sent him not, and he caused you to trust in a lie:
32 però questo dice Iddio: ecco io visiterò [sopra] Semeia Neelamite, e sopra lo suo seme; non sarà a lui uomo sedente in mezzo di questo popolo, e non vederà lo bene lo quale io farò a questo popolo, [dice Iddio]; per che hae parlato prevaricazione contro a Dio Signore (delli esèrciti, Iddio d' Israel).	32 Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for my people, saith the LORD; because he hath taught rebellion against the LORD.
