Prima lettera ai Tessalonicesi 1

1 Paolo, Silvano e Timoteo, alla Chiesa dei Tessalonicesi, in Dio Padre e nel Signore Gesù Cristo:	1 Paul and Sylvanus and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians, in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 grazie a voi e pace. Noi rendiamo sempre grazie a Dio per tutti voi, facendo continuamente memoria, di voi nelle nostre orazioni,	2 Grace and peace to you. We give thanks to God always for all of you, keeping the memory of you in our prayers without ceasing,
3 ricordandoci, davanti a Dio e Padre nostro, dell'opera della vostra fede, dei sacrifizi della vostra carità e della ferma vostra speranza nel Signore nostro Gesù Cristo,	3 remembering your work of faith, and hardship, and charity, and enduring hope, in our Lord Jesus Christ, before God our Father.
4 sapendo, o fratelli da Dio amati, che siete degli eletti.	4 For we know, brothers, beloved of God, of your election.
5 Infatti il nostro Vangelo tra di voi non fu solo a parole, ma anche nella virtù e nello Spirito Santo e in molto accertamento; voi del resto ben sapete quali siamo stati fra di voi per vostro bene.	5 For our Gospel has not been among you in word alone, but also in virtue, and in the Holy Spirit, and with a great fullness, in the same manner as you know we have acted among you for your sake.
6 E voi siete divenuti imitatori nostri e del Signore avendo ricevuto la Parola in mezzo a molte tribolazioni colla gioia dello Spirito Santo,	6 And so, you became imitators of us and of the Lord, accepting the Word in the midst of great tribulation, but with the joy of the Holy Spirit.
7 fino a divenire modello a tutti i credenti nella Macedonia e nell'Acaia.	7 So have you become a pattern for all who believe in Macedonia and in Achaia.
8 Infatti da voi la parola di Dio si è divulgata, non solamente per la Macedonia e per l'Acaia, ma da perr tutto si è propagata anche la fama della fede che voi avete in Dio, e tanto che non abbiamo bisogno di parlarne;	8 For from you, the Word of the Lord was spread, not only in Macedonia and in Achaia, but also in every place. Your faith, which is toward God, has advanced so much so that we do not need to speak to you about anything.
9 perchè la gente stessa parla di noi, raccontantando in che modo siamo venuti da voi e come vi siete convertiti dagli idoli a Dio, per servire all'iddio vivo e vero,	9 For others are reporting among us of the kind of acceptance we had among you, and how you were converted from idols to God, to the service of the living and true God,
10 e per aspettare dai cieli il suo Figliolo, che egli ha risuscitato da morte, Gesù, il quale ci ha salvati dall'ira ventura.	10 and to the expectation of his Son from heaven (whom he raised up from the dead), Jesus, who has rescued us from the approaching wrath.
