1 Ecco infatti che in quei giorni e in quel tempo, quando io avrò fatto ritornare gli esuli di Giuda e di Gerusalemme,	1 For, behold, in those days and in that time, when I will have converted the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
2 radunerò tutte le nazioni, e le farò discendere nella valle di Giosafat, ed ivi discuterò con esse a riguardo del mio popolo e della mia eredità, Israele, che esse han disperso fra le nazioni, e riguardo alla mia terra da esse spartita.	2 I will gather all the Gentiles, and will lead them into the valley of Jehoshaphat. And there I will dispute with them over my people, and over Israel, my inheritance, for they have scattered them among the nations and have divided my land.
3 Esse si son diviso a sorte il mio popolo, han posti i giovanetti nei postriboli, han venduto le figlie per avere del vino da bere.	3 And they have cast lots over my people; and the boy they have placed in the brothel, and the girl they have sold for wine, so that they might drink.
4 E che relazioni ci sono tra me e voi, o Tiro, o Sidone, o intera regione dei Filistei? Volete forse vendicarvi di me? Se voi vi vendicate di me, io vi renderò subito subito il contraccambio, (facendo ricadere la vostra pròvocazione) sulla vostra testa.	4 Truly, what is there between you and me, Tyre and Sidon and all the distant places of the Philistines? How will you take vengeance on me? And if you were to revenge yourselves against me, I would deliver a repayment to you, quickly and soon, upon your head.
5 Perchè voi avete rubato il mio argento e il mio oro, e tutte le mie cose preziose e più belle le avete portate dentro i vostri templi.	5 For you have carried away my silver and gold. And my desirable and most beautiful, you have taken into your shrines.
6 E i figli di Giuda e di Gerusalemme li avete venduti ai figli dei Greci, per tenerli lontani dalla loro terra.	6 And you, sons of Judah and sons of Jerusalem, you have sold the sons of the Greeks, so that you might drive them far from their own territory.
7 Ecco, io li farò tornare dal luogo nel quale voi li avete venduti, e renderò a voi il contraccambio sopra il vostro capo.	7 Behold, I will raise them up from the place into which you have sold them, and I will turn back your retribution on your own head.
8 E venderò i vostri figli e le vostre figlie nelle mani dei figli di Giuda, ed essi li venderanno ai Sabei, ad un popolo lontano, perchè il Signore ha parlato.	8 And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hands of the sons of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, a distant nation, for the Lord has spoken.
9 Pubblicatelo ad alta voce tra le nazioni, preparatevi alla guerra, eccitate i forti, si avvicinino, salgano tutti gli uomini di guerra,	9 Proclaim this among the Gentiles: “Sanctify a war, raise up the strong. Approach, ascend, all men of war.
10 trasformate i vostri aratri in spade, le vostre zappe in lance; il debole dica: « Io son forte ».	10 Cut your ploughs into swords and your hoes into spears. Let the weak say, ‘For I am strong.’
11 Uscite fuori, venite, radunatevi insieme da ogni parte, o nazioni tutte, dove il Signore abbatterà i vostri eroi.	11 Break out and advance, all nations of the world, and gather together. There the Lord will cause all your strong ones to meet death.”
12 Si muovano le nazioni e vengano nella valle di Giosafat, perchè ivi io starò a giudicare tutte le genti che da ogni parte verranno.	12 Let them arise and ascend to the valley of Jehoshaphat. For there I will sit, so as to judge all the nations of the world.
13 Menate la falce, perchè la messe è matura. Venite, scendete; perchè lo strettoio è pieno, i tini rigurgitano, e la loro malvagità è giunta al colmo.	13 Send forth the sickles, because the harvest has matured. Advance and descend, for the press is full, the pressing room is overflowing. For their malice has been increasing.
14 Popoli, popoli, alla valle della decisione! perchè è vicino il giorno del Signore nella valle della decisione.	14 Nations, nations in the valley of being cut to pieces: for the day of the Lord fittingly takes place in the valley of being cut to pieces.
15 Il sole e la luna si sono oscurati, le stelle han perduto il loro splendore. i	15 The sun and the moon have been darkened, and the stars have withdrawn their splendor.
16 Il Signore ruggirà da Sion, da Gerusalemme farà sentire la sua voce; il cielo e la terra tremeranno: il Signore sarà la speranza del suo popolo, la fortezza dei figli d'Israele.	16 And the Lord will roar from Zion and utter his voice from Jerusalem. And the heavens and the earth will be moved. And the Lord will be the hope of his people and the strength of the sons of Israel.
17 E voi saprete che io sono il Signore Dio vostro, che abito in Sion, mia santa montagna. E Gerusalemme sarà santa, e gli stranieri non vi metteranno più piede.	17 And you will know that I am the Lord your God, dwelling on Zion, my holy mountain. And Jerusalem will be holy, and strangers will not cross through it anymore.
18 E in quel giorno i monti stilleranno dolcezza e dalle colline sgorgherà il latte, e per tutti i ruscelli di Giuda correranno le acque. E dalla casa del Signore zampillerà una fontana, che irrigherà la valle delle spine.	18 And it will happen, in that day, that the mountains will drip sweetness, and the hills will flow with milk. And the waters will pass through all the rivers of Judah. And a fountain will go forth from the house of the Lord, and it will irrigate the desert of thorns.
19 L'Egitto sarà in desolazione, l'Idumea sarà un deserto di rovine, perchè hanno agito iniquamente contro i figli d'Israele, ed hanno sparso nella loro terra il sangue innocente.	19 Egypt will be in desolation, and Edom will be a wilderness destroyed, because of what they have unfairly done to the sons of Judah, and because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
20 Ma la Giudea sarà abitata in eterno, e Gerusalemme per tutte le generazioni.	20 And Judea will be inhabited forever, and Jerusalem for generation upon generation.
21 E farò vendetta del loro sangue, da me non ancora vendicato, e il Signore abiterà in Sion.	21 And I will cleanse their blood, which I had not cleansed. And the Lord will remain in Zion.
