CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAINGREEK BIBLE
Alleluia. Confess to the Lord, and invoke his name. Announce his works among the nations.1 Ευλογει, η ψυχη μου, τον Κυριον.
Sing to him, and sing psalms to him. Describe all his wonders.2 ο περιτυλιττομενος το φως ως ιματιον, ο εκτεινων τον ουρανον ως καταπετασμα?
Be praised in his holy name. Let the heart of those who seek the Lord rejoice.3 ο στεγαζων με υδατα τα υπερωα αυτου?
Seek the Lord, and be confirmed.
Remember his miracles, which he has done, his portents and the judgments of his mouth:5 ο θεμελιων την γην επι την βασιν αυτης, δια να μη σαλευθη εις τον αιωνα του αιωνος.
you offspring of Abraham his servant, you sons of Jacob his elect.6 Με την αβυσσον, ως με ιματιον, εκαλυψας αυτην?
He is the Lord our God. His judgments are throughout the entire earth.7 απο επιτιμησεως σου εφυγον?
He has remembered his covenant for all ages: the word that he entrusted to a thousand generations,8 ανεβησαν εις τα ορη, κατεβησαν εις τας κοιλαδας, εις τοπον, τον οποιον διωρισας δι' αυτα?
which he assigned to Abraham, and his oath to Isaac.9 εθεσας οριον, το οποιον δεν θελουσιν υπερβη ουδε θελουσιν επιστρεψει δια να σκεπασωσι την γην.
And he stationed the same for Jacob with a precept, and for Israel with an eternal testament,10 Ο εξαποστελλων πηγας εις τας φαραγγας, δια να ρεωσιν αναμεσον των ορεων?
saying: To you, I will give the land of Canaan, the allotment of your inheritance.11 ποτιζουσι παντα τα θηρια του αγρου?
Though they may have been but a small number, very few and foreigners there,12 πλησιον αυτων τα πετεινα του ουρανου κατασκηνουσι, και αναμεσον των κλαδων κελαδουσιν.
and though they passed from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people,13 Ο ποτιζων τα ορη εκ των υπερωων αυτου?
he allowed no man to harm them, and he reproved kings on their behalf.14 Ο αναδιδων χορτον δια τα κτηνη και βοτανην προς χρησιν του ανθρωπου, δια να εξαγη τροφην εκ της γης,
Do not be willing to touch my Christ, and do not be willing to malign my prophets.15 και οινον ευφραινοντα την καρδιαν του ανθρωπου, ελαιον δια να λαμπρυνη το προσωπον αυτου, και αρτον στηριζοντα την καρδιαν του ανθρωπου.
And he called a famine upon the land, and he crushed every foundation of the bread.16 Εχορτασθησαν τα δενδρα του Κυριου?
He sent a man before them: Joseph, who had been sold as a slave.17 Οπου τα πετεινα καμνουσι φωλεας?
They humbled his feet in shackles; the iron pierced his soul,18 Τα ορη τα υψηλα ειναι δια τας δορκαδας?
until his word arrived. The eloquence of the Lord inflamed him.19 Εκαμε την σεληνην δια τους καιρους?
The king sent and released him; he was the ruler of the people, and he dismissed him.20 Φερεις σκοτος, και γινεται νυξ?
He established him as master of his house and ruler of all his possessions,21 οι σκυμνοι βρυχωνται δια να αρπασωσι, και να ζητησωσι παρα του Θεου την τροφην αυτων.
so that he might instruct his princes as himself, and teach his elders prudence.22 Ο ηλιος ανατελλει?
And Israel entered into Egypt, and Jacob became a sojourner in the land of Ham.23 εξερχεται ο ανθρωπος εις το εργον αυτου και εις την εργασιαν αυτου εως εσπερας.
And he helped his people greatly, and he strengthened them over their enemies.24 Ποσον μεγαλα ειναι τα εργα σου, Κυριε?
He turned their heart to hate his people, and to deal deceitfully with his servants.25 αυτη η θαλασσα η μεγαλη και ευρυχωρος.
He sent Moses, his servant, and Aaron, the one whom he chose.26 εκει διατρεχουσι τα πλοια?
He placed with them signs of his word, and portents in the land of Ham.27 Παντα ταυτα επι σε ελπιζουσι, δια να δωσης εν καιρω την τροφην αυτων.
He sent darkness and made it conceal, and he did not afflict them with his speech.28 Διδεις εις αυτα, συναγουσιν?
He turned their waters into blood, and he slaughtered their fish.29 Αποστρεφεις το προσωπον σου, ταραττονται?
Their land brought forth frogs, even in the inner chambers of their kings.30 εξαποστελλεις το πνευμα σου, κτιζονται, και ανανεονεις το προσωπον της γης.
He spoke, and there came forth common flies and gnats, in every region.31 Η δοξα του Κυριου εστω εις τον αιωνα?
He gave them a shower of hail and a burning fire, in the same land.32 ο επιβλεπων επι την γην και καμνων αυτην να τρεμη?
And he struck their vineyards and their fig trees, and he crushed the trees of their region.33 Θελω ψαλλει εις τον Κυριον ενοσω ζω?
He spoke, and the locust came forth, and the caterpillar, of which there was no number.34 Η εις αυτον μελετη μου θελει εισθαι γλυκεια?
And it devoured all the grass in their land, and it consumed all the fruit of their land.35 Ας εκλειψωσιν οι αμαρτωλοι απο της γης και οι ασεβεις ας μη υπαρχωσι πλεον.
And he struck all the first-born in their land, the first-fruits of all their labor.
And he led them out with silver and gold, and there was not an infirm one among their tribes.
Egypt was joyful at their departure, for the fear of them lay heavy upon them.
He spread a cloud for their protection, and a fire, to give them light through the night.
They petitioned, and the quail came; and he satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
He ruptured the rock and the waters flowed: rivers gushed in the dry land.
For he had called to mind his holy word, which he kept near to his servant Abraham.
And he led forth his people in exultation, and his elect in rejoicing.
And he gave them the regions of the Gentiles, and they possessed the labors of the peoples,
so that they might observe his justifications, and inquire about his law.
