1 These were the stages of the journey made by the Israelites when they left Egypt in their companiesunder the leadership of Moses and Aaron.	1 Queste sono le tappe dei figli d'Israele che uscirono dalla terra d'Egitto, secondo le loro schiere, sotto la guida di Mosè e Aronne.
2 Moses recorded their starting-points in writing whenever they moved on at Yahweh's order. Thestages, from one starting-point to another, were as fol ows:	2 Mosè scrisse i loro punti di partenza, secondo le loro tappe, per ordine del Signore: queste sono le loro tappe, secondo i loro punti di partenza.
3 They left Rameses in the first month. It was the fifteenth day of the first month, the day following thePassover, when the Israelites confidently set out, under the eyes of al Egypt.	3 Partirono da Ramses nel primo mese, il 15 del mese del primo mese. 5 The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Succoth.	5 I figli d'Israele partirono da Ramses e si accamparono a Succot.
6 Then they left Succoth and encamped at Etham which is on the edge of the desert.	6 Partirono da Succot e si accamparono a Etam, che è all'estremità del deserto.

51 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "When you have crossed the Jordan into Canaan,	51 "Parla ai figli d'Israele e di' loro: Poiché state per passare il Giordano verso la terra di Canaan,
52 you wil drive out al the local inhabitants before you. You wil destroy al their painted images, youwil destroy al their metal statues and you wil demolish al their high places.	52 dovrete scacciare tutti gli abitanti della terra davanti a voi, distruggerete tutte le loro raffigurazioni, distruggerete tutte le loro statue fuse, annienterete tutti i loro luoghi alti.
53 You wil take possession of the country and settle in it, for I have given you the country as yourproperty.	53 Entrerete in possesso della terra e dei suoi abitanti, perché a voi l'ho data in eredità.
54 You wil share it out by lot among your clans. To a large clan you wil give a larger heritage, and to asmal er clan you wil give a smal er heritage. Where the lot fal s for each, that wil be his. Your heritage wildepend on the size of your tribe.	54 Vi spartirete la terra a sorte, secondo le vostre famiglie: a chi è grande moltiplicherete la propria eredità, a chi è piccolo diminuirete la propria eredità; e avrà quello su cui uscirà per lui la sorte. Vi spartirete secondo le tribù dei vostri padri.
55 If, however, you do not drive out the local inhabitants before you, the ones you al ow to remain wilbe thorns in your eyes and thistles in your sides and wil harass you in the country where you are living,	55 Se non scaccerete gli abitanti del paese davanti a voi, quelli che resteranno di loro saranno spine per i vostri occhi e rovi per i vostri fianchi e vi premeranno nella terra in cui abiterete.
56 and I shal treat you as I intended to treat them." '	56 Quello che mi ero prefisso di fare a loro, lo farò a voi".
