1 These were the stages of the journey made by the Israelites when they left Egypt in their companiesunder the leadership of Moses and Aaron.	1 - Queste son le stazioni dei figli d'Israele, i quali uscirono dall'Egitto schiera per schiera, sotto la guida di Mosè ed Aronne;
2 Moses recorded their starting-points in writing whenever they moved on at Yahweh's order. Thestages, from one starting-point to another, were as fol ows:	2 le registrò Mosè, secondo i luoghi degli accampamenti che venivano mutati per comando di Dio.
3 They left Rameses in the first month. It was the fifteenth day of the first month, the day following thePassover, when the Israelites confidently set out, under the eyes of al Egypt.	3 Partirono dunque i figli di Israele da Ramesse il mese primo, ai quindici del mese, il giorno dopo Pasqua, con l'aiuto di mano forte, vedendoli tutti gli Egiziani,
4 The Egyptians were burying those of their own people whom Yahweh had struck down, all the first-born; Yahweh had carried out his judgement on their gods.	4 i quali attendevano a seppellire i loro primogeniti percossi dal Signore che anche sui loro dèi aveva esercitato la sua vendetta.
5 The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Succoth.	5 Andarono ad accamparsi in Soccot
6 Then they left Succoth and encamped at Etham which is on the edge of the desert.	6 e da Soccot vennero in Etam, agli estremi confini del deserto.
7 They left Etham, turned back to Pi-Hahiroth, opposite Baal-Zephon, and encamped before Migdol.	7 Di lì usciti, vennero di contro a Fiairot, che guarda Beelsefon, e posero il campo dinanzi a Magdalum.
8 They left Pi-Hahiroth, crossed the sea into the desert, and after marching for three days in the desertof Etham they encamped at Marah.	8 Partiti da Fiairot, passarono per mezzo al mare, [e si diressero] verso il deserto; dopo tre giorni di cammino pel deserto d'Etam, s'accamparono in Mara.
9 They left Marah and reached Elim. At Elim there were twelve springs of water and seventy palmtrees; they encamped there.	9 Partiti da Mara, vennero in Elim, dov'erano dodici fonti d'acqua e settanta palme, e vi s'accamparono.
10 They left Elim and encamped by the Sea of Reeds.	10 Partiti di lì, andarono a fermar le tende lungo il Mar Rosso. Partiti di sul Mar Rosso,
11 They left the Sea of Reeds and encamped in the desert of Sin.	11 s'accamparono nel deserto di Sin;
12 They left the desert of Sin and encamped at Dophkah.	12 donde partiti, vennero in Dafca;
13 They left Dophkah and encamped at Alush.	13 partiti da Dafca, s'attendarono in Alus;
14 They left Alush and encamped at Rephidim; the people found no drinking water there.	14 usciti da Alus, fermarono le tende in Rafidim, dove mancò al popolo l'acqua per bere;
15 They left Rephidim and encamped in the desert of Sinai.	15 partiti poi da Rafidim, andarono ad accamparsi nel deserto di Sinai.
16 They left the desert of Sinai and encamped at Kibroth-ha-Taavah.	16 Usciti dal deserto di Sinai, vennero ai Sepolcri della concupiscenza;
17 They left Kibroth-ha-Taavah and encamped at Hazeroth.	17 partiti dai Sepolcri della concupiscenza, si accamparono in Haserot;
18 They left Hazeroth and encamped at Rithmah.	18 da Haserot vennero in Retma;
19 They left Rithmah and encamped at Rimmon-Perez.	19 partiti da Retma, posero il campo in Remmonfares;

37 They left Kadesh and encamped at Mount Hor, on the borders of the land of Edom.	37 E partiti da Cades, s'accamparono al monte Hor, agli estremi confini della terra di Edom.
38 The priest Aaron went up Mount Hor on Yahweh's orders and died there in the fortieth year of theexodus of the Israelites from Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.	38 Al comando del Signore, Aronne sacerdote salì sul monte Hor, ed ivi morì, l'anno quarantesimo dell'uscita dei figli d'Israele dall'Egitto, il mese quinto, il giorni primo del mese,
39 Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Hor.	39 essendo di centoventitrè anni.
40 The king of Arad, the Canaanite who lived in the Negeb of Canaan, heard of the Israelites' arrival.	40 Allora il Cananeo re d'Arad, che abitava al mezzogiorno nella terra di Canaan, seppe che i figli d'Israele erano venuti.
41 They left Mount Hor and encamped at Zalmonah.	41 E partiti dal monte Hor, s'accamparono in Salmona;
42 They left Zalmonah and encamped at Punon.	42 di lì usciti vennero in Funon;
43 They left Punon and encamped at Oboth.	43 partiti da Funon, si accamparono in Obot;
44 They left Oboth and encamped in Moabite territory at Iye-Abarim.	44 da Obot vennero in Jieabarim, ai confini dei Moabiti;
45 They left Iyim and encamped at Dibon-Gad.	45 venuti via da Jieabarim, s'attendarono a Dibongad;
46 They left Dibon-Gad and encamped at Almon-Diblathaim.	46 da dove usciti, si accamparono in Helmondeblataim;
47 They left Almon-Diblathaim and encamped in the Abarim mountains facing Nebo.	47 partiti da Helmondeblataim, vennero ai monti d'Abarim di contro a Nabo;
48 They left the Abarim mountains and encamped on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan oppositeJericho.	48 partiti dai monti d'Abarim, passarono alle pianure di Moab, sul Giordano, di faccia a Gerico,
49 They encamped near the Jordan between Beth-ha-Jeshimoth and Abel-ha-Shittim, on the Plains ofMoab.	49 ed ivi piantaron le tende da Betsimot sino ad Abelsatim nelle pianure dei Moabiti.
50 Yahweh spoke to Moses on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan by Jericho, and said:	50 Ivi il Signore disse a Mosè:
51 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "When you have crossed the Jordan into Canaan,	51 «Comanda a' figli d'Israele, e di' loro: - Quando, passato il Giordano, entrerete nella terra di Canaan,
52 you wil drive out al the local inhabitants before you. You wil destroy al their painted images, youwil destroy al their metal statues and you wil demolish al their high places.	52 disperdete tutti gli abitanti di quella terra, spezzate i pilastri scolpiti, fate in briciole le statue, e distruggete tutti gli altari dei luoghi alti,
53 You wil take possession of the country and settle in it, for I have given you the country as yourproperty.	53 purificando quella terra per poi abitarvi perchè io ve l'ho data per vostro possesso.
54 You wil share it out by lot among your clans. To a large clan you wil give a larger heritage, and to asmal er clan you wil give a smal er heritage. Where the lot fal s for each, that wil be his. Your heritage wildepend on the size of your tribe.	54 Dividetela tra voi a sorte; ai più numerosi date una porzione più grande, ed ai meno datela minore. A ciascuno si darà il suo retaggio come gli è toccato in sorte, e la divisione si farà per tribù e per famiglie.
55 If, however, you do not drive out the local inhabitants before you, the ones you al ow to remain wilbe thorns in your eyes and thistles in your sides and wil harass you in the country where you are living,	55 Ma se non vorrete mettere a morte gli abitanti di quella terra, quelli che rimarranno saranno per voi come chiodi negli occhi e lance nei fianchi, e saranno vostri nemici nella terra da voi abitata.
56 and I shal treat you as I intended to treat them." '	56 Tutto quello che io avevo divisato di fare a loro, lo farò a voi -».
