NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 These were the stages of the journey made by the Israelites when they left Egypt in their companiesunder the leadership of Moses and Aaron.	1 Estas son las etapas que recorrieron los israelitas cuando salieron de Egipto, agrupados por regimientos, bajo la conducción de Moisés y Aarón.
2 Moses recorded their starting-points in writing whenever they moved on at Yahweh's order. Thestages, from one starting-point to another, were as fol ows:	2 Moisés consignó por escrito el punto inicial de cada etapa, por orden del Señor. Los puntos iniciales de cada etapa fueron los siguientes:
3 They left Rameses in the first month. It was the fifteenth day of the first month, the day following thePassover, when the Israelites confidently set out, under the eyes of al Egypt.	3 El día quince del primer mes –el día siguiente a la Pascua– los israelitas partieron de Ramsés. Salieron triunfalmente, a la vista de todo Egipto,
4 The Egyptians were burying those of their own people whom Yahweh had struck down, all the first-born; Yahweh had carried out his judgement on their gods.	4 mientras los egipcios enterraban a sus primogénitos, que el Señor había herido de muerte, dando así un justo escarmiento a sus dioses.
5 The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Succoth.	5 Después que partieron de Ramsés, los israelitas acamparon en Sucot.
6 Then they left Succoth and encamped at Etham which is on the edge of the desert.	6 Luego partieron de Sucot y acamparon en Etam, al borde del desierto.
7 They left Etham, turned back to Pi-Hahiroth, opposite Baal-Zephon, and encamped before Migdol.	7 De allí, se volvieron hacia Piajirot, que está frente a Baal Safón, y acamparon delante de Migdol.
8 They left Pi-Hahiroth, crossed the sea into the desert, and after marching for three days in the desertof Etham they encamped at Marah.	8 Partiendo de Piajirot, llegaron al desierto, pasando a través del mar, y después de tres días de marcha por el desierto de Etam, acamparon en Mará.
9 They left Marah and reached Elim. At Elim there were twelve springs of water and seventy palmtrees; they encamped there.	9 Partieron de Mará y llegaron a Elím, donde hay doce fuentes y setenta palmeras, y allí acamparon.

38 The priest Aaron went up Mount Hor on Yahweh's orders and died there in the fortieth year of theexodus of the Israelites from Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.	38 El sacerdote Aarón, por orden del Señor, subió al monte Hor y allí murió, el primer día del quinto mes, cuarenta años después que los israelitas salieron de Egipto.
39 Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Hor.	39 Cuando murió en el monte Hor, Aarón tenía ciento veintitrés años.
40 The king of Arad, the Canaanite who lived in the Negeb of Canaan, heard of the Israelites' arrival.	40 El cananeo, rey de Arad, que habitaba en el Négueb, en el país de Canaán, recibió entonces la noticia de la llegada de los israelitas.
41 They left Mount Hor and encamped at Zalmonah.	41 Luego partieron del monte Hor y acamparon en Salmoná.

48 They left the Abarim mountains and encamped on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan oppositeJericho.	48 Partieron de las montañas de Abarím y acamparon en las estepas de Moab, junto al Jordán, a la altura de Jericó.
49 They encamped near the Jordan between Beth-ha-Jeshimoth and Abel-ha-Shittim, on the Plains ofMoab.	49 Acamparon junto al Jordán, desde Bet Ha Iesimot hasta Abel Sitím, en las estepas de Moab.
50 Yahweh spoke to Moses on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan by Jericho, and said:	50 El Señor dijo a Moisés en las estepas de Moab, junto al Jordán, a la altura de Jericó:
51 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "When you have crossed the Jordan into Canaan,	51 Habla en estos términos a los israelitas: Cuando crucen el Jordán en dirección al país de Canaán
52 you wil drive out al the local inhabitants before you. You wil destroy al their painted images, youwil destroy al their metal statues and you wil demolish al their high places.	52 y hayan desposeído de sus dominios a todos los habitantes del país, ustedes harán desaparecer todas sus imágenes esculpidas y todas sus estatuas de metal fundido, y demolerán todos sus lugares altos.
53 You wil take possession of the country and settle in it, for I have given you the country as yourproperty.	53 Tomarán posesión del país y habitarán en él, porque yo les di esa tierra para que la posean.
54 You wil share it out by lot among your clans. To a large clan you wil give a larger heritage, and to asmal er clan you wil give a smal er heritage. Where the lot fal s for each, that wil be his. Your heritage wildepend on the size of your tribe.	54 Además, se repartirán el país entre sus clanes por medio de un sorteo, asignando una herencia mayor al grupo más numeroso, y una herencia más pequeña al grupo más reducido: cada uno tendrá lo que le toque en suerte, y se repartirán la tierra entre las tribus patriarcales.
55 If, however, you do not drive out the local inhabitants before you, the ones you al ow to remain wilbe thorns in your eyes and thistles in your sides and wil harass you in the country where you are living,	55 Pero si no despojan de sus dominios a los habitantes del país, los que ustedes hayan dejado serán como espinas en sus ojos y como aguijones en su costado, que los asediarán en la tierra donde habiten.
56 and I shal treat you as I intended to treat them." '	56 Y Yo los trataré a ustedes como había decidido tratarlos a ellos.
