1 The lot for the clans of the Judahite tribe fell in the extreme south toward the boundary of Edom, the desert of Zin in the Negeb.	1 ויהי הגורל למטה בני יהודה למשפחתם אל גבול אדום מדבר צן נגבה מקצה תימן
2 The boundary there ran from the bay that forms the southern end of the Salt Sea,	2 ויהי להם גבול נגב מקצה ים המלח מן הלשן הפנה נגבה
3 southward below the pass of Akrabbim, across through Zin, up to a point south of Kadesh-barnea, across to Hezron, and up to Addar; from there, looping around Karka,	3 ויצא אל מנגב למעלה עקרבים ועבר צנה ועלה מנגב לקדש ברנע ועבר חצרון ועלה אדרה ונסב הקרקעה
4 it crossed to Azmon and then joined the Wadi of Egypt before coming out at the sea. (This is your southern boundary.)	4 ועבר עצמונה ויצא נחל מצרים והיה תצאות הגבול ימה זה יהיה לכם גבול נגב
5 The eastern boundary was the Salt Sea as far as the mouth of the Jordan.	5 וגבול קדמה ים המלח עד קצה הירדן וגבול לפאת צפונה מלשון הים מקצה הירדן
6 The northern boundary climbed from the bay where the Jordan meets the sea, up to Beth-hoglah, and ran north of Beth-arabah, up to Eben-Bohan-ben-Reuben.	6 ועלה הגבול בית חגלה ועבר מצפון לבית הערבה ועלה הגבול אבן בהן בן ראובן
7 Thence it climbed to Debir, north of the vale of Achor, in the direction of the Gilgal that faces the pass of Adummim, on the south side of the wadi; from there it crossed to the waters of En-shemesh and emerged at En-rogel.	7 ועלה הגבול דברה מעמק עכור וצפונה פנה אל הגלגל אשר נכח למעלה אדמים אשר מנגב לנחל ועבר הגבול אל מי עין שמש והיו תצאתיו אל עין רגל
8 Climbing again to the Valley of Ben-hinnom on the southern flank of the Jebusites (that is, Jerusalem), the boundary rose to the top of the mountain at the northern end of the Valley of Rephaim, which bounds the Valley of Hinnom on the west.	8 ועלה הגבול גי בן הנם אל כתף היבוסי מנגב היא ירושלם ועלה הגבול אל ראש ההר אשר על פני גי הנם ימה אשר בקצה עמק רפאים צפנה
9 From the top of the mountain it ran to the fountain of waters of Nephtoah, extended to the cities of Mount Ephron, and continued to Baalah, or Kiriath-jearim.	9 ותאר הגבול מראש ההר אל מעין מי נפתוח ויצא אל ערי הר עפרון ותאר הגבול בעלה היא קרית יערים
10 From Baalah the boundary curved westward to Mount Seir and passed north of the ridge of Mount Jearim (that is, Chesalon); thence it descended to Beth-shemesh, and ran across to Timnah.	10 ונסב הגבול מבעלה ימה אל הר שעיר ועבר אל כתף הר יערים מצפונה היא כסלון וירד בית שמש ועבר תמנה
11 It then extended along the northern flank of Ekron, continued through Shikkeron, and across to Mount Baalah, thence to include Jabneel, before it came out at the sea.	11 ויצא הגבול אל כתף עקרון צפונה ותאר הגבול שכרונה ועבר הר הבעלה ויצא יבנאל והיו תצאות הגבול ימה
12 The western boundary was the Great Sea and its coast. This was the complete boundary of the clans of the Judahites.	12 וגבול ים הימה הגדול וגבול זה גבול בני יהודה סביב למשפחתם
13 As the LORD had commanded, Joshua gave Caleb, son of Jephunneh, a portion among the Judahites, namely, Kiriath-arba (Arba was the father of Anak), that is, Hebron.	13 ולכלב בן יפנה נתן חלק בתוך בני יהודה אל פי יהוה ליהושע את קרית ארבע אבי הענק היא חברון
14 And Caleb drove out from there the three Anakim, the descendants of Anak: Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai.	14 וירש משם כלב את שלושה בני הענק את ששי ואת אחימן ואת תלמי ילידי הענק
15 From there he marched up against the inhabitants of Debir, which was formerly called Kiriath-sepher.	15 ויעל משם אל ישבי דבר ושם דבר לפנים קרית ספר
16 Caleb said, "I will give my daughter Achsah in marriage to the one who attacks Kiriath-sepher and captures it."	16 ויאמר כלב אשר יכה את קרית ספר ולכדה ונתתי לו את עכסה בתי לאשה
17 Othniel, son of Caleb's brother Kenaz, captured it, and so Caleb gave him his daughter Achsah in marriage.	17 וילכדה עתניאל בן קנז אחי כלב ויתן לו את עכסה בתו לאשה
18 On the day of her marriage to Othniel, she induced him to ask her father for some land. Then, as she alighted from the ass, Caleb asked her, "What is troubling you?"	18 ויהי בבואה ותסיתהו לשאול מאת אביה שדה ותצנח מעל החמור ויאמר לה כלב מה לך
19 She answered, "Give me an additional gift! Since you have assigned to me land in the Negeb, give me also pools of water." So he gave her the upper and the lower pools.	19 ותאמר תנה לי ברכה כי ארץ הנגב נתתני ונתתה לי גלת מים ויתן לה את גלת עליות ואת גלת תחתיות
20 This is the heritage of the clans of the tribe of Judahites:	20 זאת נחלת מטה בני יהודה למשפחתם
21 The cities of the tribe of the Judahites in the extreme southern district toward Edom were: Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur,	21 ויהיו הערים מקצה למטה בני יהודה אל גבול אדום בנגבה קבצאל ועדר ויגור
22 Kinah, Dimonah, Adadah,	22 וקינה ודימונה ועדעדה
23 Kedesh, Hazor and Ithnan;	23 וקדש וחצור ויתנן
24 Ziph, Telem, Bealoth,	24 זיף וטלם ובעלות
25 Hazor-hadattah, and Kerioth-hezron (that is, Hazor);	25 וחצור חדתה וקריות חצרון היא חצור
26 Amam, Shema, Moladah,	26 אמם ושמע ומולדה
27 Hazar-gaddah, Heshmon, Beth-pelet,	27 וחצר גדה וחשמון ובית פלט

35 Jarmuth, Adullam, Socoh, Azekah,	35 ירמות ועדלם שוכה ועזקה
36 Shaaraim, Adithaim, Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities and their villages.	36 ושערים ועדיתים והגדרה וגדרתים ערים ארבע עשרה וחצריהן
37 Zenan, Hadashah, Migdal-gad,	37 צנן וחדשה ומגדל גד

45 Ekron and its towns and villages;	45 עקרון ובנתיה וחצריה
46 from Ekron to the sea, all the towns that lie alongside Ashdod, and their villages;	46 מעקרון וימה כל אשר על יד אשדוד וחצריהן
47 Ashdod and its towns and villages; Gaza and its towns and villages, as far as the Wadi of Egypt and the coast of the Great Sea.	47 אשדוד בנותיה וחצריה עזה בנותיה וחצריה עד נחל מצרים והים הגבול וגבול

61 In the desert: Beth-arabah, Middin, Secacah,	61 במדבר בית הערבה מדין וסככה
