NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 The lot for the clans of the Judahite tribe fell in the extreme south toward the boundary of Edom, the desert of Zin in the Negeb.	1 وكانت القرعة لسبط بني يهوذا حسب عشائرهم الى تخم ادوم برية صين نحو الجنوب اقصى التيمن.
2 The boundary there ran from the bay that forms the southern end of the Salt Sea,	2 وكان تخمهم الجنوبي اقصى بحر الملح من اللسان المتوجه نحو الجنوب.
3 southward below the pass of Akrabbim, across through Zin, up to a point south of Kadesh-barnea, across to Hezron, and up to Addar; from there, looping around Karka,	3 وخرج الى جنوب عقبة عقربّيم وعبر الى صين وصعد من جنوب قادش برنيع وعبر الى حصرون وصعد الى ادّار ودار الى القرقع
4 it crossed to Azmon and then joined the Wadi of Egypt before coming out at the sea. (This is your southern boundary.)	4 وعبر الى عصمون وخرج الى وادي مصر وكانت مخارج التخم عند البحر. هذا يكون تخمكم الجنوبي.
5 The eastern boundary was the Salt Sea as far as the mouth of the Jordan.	5 وتخم الشرق بحر الملح الى طرف الاردن. وتخم جانب الشمال من لسان البحر اقصى الاردن.
6 The northern boundary climbed from the bay where the Jordan meets the sea, up to Beth-hoglah, and ran north of Beth-arabah, up to Eben-Bohan-ben-Reuben.	6 وصعد التخم الى بيت حجلة وعبر من شمال بيت العربة وصعد التخم الى حجر بوهن بن رأوبين
7 Thence it climbed to Debir, north of the vale of Achor, in the direction of the Gilgal that faces the pass of Adummim, on the south side of the wadi; from there it crossed to the waters of En-shemesh and emerged at En-rogel.	7 وصعد التخم الى دبير من وادي عخور وتوجه نحو الشمال الى الجلجال التي مقابل عقبة ادميم التي من جنوبي الوادي. وعبر التخم الى مياه عين شمس وكانت مخارجه الى عين روجل.
8 Climbing again to the Valley of Ben-hinnom on the southern flank of the Jebusites (that is, Jerusalem), the boundary rose to the top of the mountain at the northern end of the Valley of Rephaim, which bounds the Valley of Hinnom on the west.	8 وصعد التخم في وادي ابن هنوم الى جانب اليبوسي من الجنوب. هي اورشليم. وصعد التخم الى راس الجبل الذي قبالة وادي هنوم غربا الذي هو في طرف وادي الرفائيين شمالا.
9 From the top of the mountain it ran to the fountain of waters of Nephtoah, extended to the cities of Mount Ephron, and continued to Baalah, or Kiriath-jearim.	9 وامتد التخم من راس الجبل الى منبع مياه نفتوح وخرج الى مدن جبل عفرون وامتد التخم الى بعلة. هي قرية يعاريم.
10 From Baalah the boundary curved westward to Mount Seir and passed north of the ridge of Mount Jearim (that is, Chesalon); thence it descended to Beth-shemesh, and ran across to Timnah.	10 وامتد التخم من بعلة غربا الى جبل سعير وعبر الى جانب جبل يعاريم من الشمال. هي كسالون ونزل الى بيت شمس وعبر الى تمنة.
11 It then extended along the northern flank of Ekron, continued through Shikkeron, and across to Mount Baalah, thence to include Jabneel, before it came out at the sea.	11 وخرج التخم الى جانب عقرون نحو الشمال وامتد التخم الى شكرون وعبر جبل البعلة وخرج الى يبنئيل وكان مخارج التخم عند البحر.
12 The western boundary was the Great Sea and its coast. This was the complete boundary of the clans of the Judahites.	12 والتخم الغربي البحر الكبير وتخومه. هذا تخم بني يهوذا مستديرا حسب عشائرهم
13 As the LORD had commanded, Joshua gave Caleb, son of Jephunneh, a portion among the Judahites, namely, Kiriath-arba (Arba was the father of Anak), that is, Hebron.	13 واعطى كالب بن يفنّة قسما في وسط بني يهوذا حسب قول الرب ليشوع قرية اربع ابي عناق. هي حبرون.
14 And Caleb drove out from there the three Anakim, the descendants of Anak: Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai.	14 وطرد كالب من هناك بني عناق الثلاثة شيشاي واخيمان وتلماي اولاد عناق.
15 From there he marched up against the inhabitants of Debir, which was formerly called Kiriath-sepher.	15 وصعد من هناك الى سكان دبير وكان اسم دبير قبلا قرية سفر.
16 Caleb said, "I will give my daughter Achsah in marriage to the one who attacks Kiriath-sepher and captures it."	16 وقال كالب. من يضرب قرية سفر ويأخذها اعطيه عكسة ابنتي امرأة.
17 Othniel, son of Caleb's brother Kenaz, captured it, and so Caleb gave him his daughter Achsah in marriage.	17 فاخذها عثنيئيل بن قناز اخو كالب. فاعطاه عكسة ابنته امرأة.
18 On the day of her marriage to Othniel, she induced him to ask her father for some land. Then, as she alighted from the ass, Caleb asked her, "What is troubling you?"	18 وكان عند دخولها انها غرته بطلب حقل من ابيها. فنزلت عن الحمار فقال لها كالب ما لك.
19 She answered, "Give me an additional gift! Since you have assigned to me land in the Negeb, give me also pools of water." So he gave her the upper and the lower pools.	19 فقالت اعطني بركة. لانك اعطيتني ارض الجنوب فاعطني ينابيع ماء فاعطاها الينابيع العليا والينابيع السفلى
20 This is the heritage of the clans of the tribe of Judahites:	20 هذا نصيب سبط بني يهوذا حسب عشائرهم.
21 The cities of the tribe of the Judahites in the extreme southern district toward Edom were: Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur,	21 وكانت المدن القصوى التي لسبط بني يهوذا الى تخم ادوم جنوبا قبصئيل وعيدر وياجور
22 Kinah, Dimonah, Adadah,	22 وقينة وديمونة وعدعدة
23 Kedesh, Hazor and Ithnan;	23 وقادش وحاصور ويثنان
24 Ziph, Telem, Bealoth,	24 وزيف وطالم وبعلوت
25 Hazor-hadattah, and Kerioth-hezron (that is, Hazor);	25 وحاصور وحدتّة وقريوت وحصرون. هي حاصور.
26 Amam, Shema, Moladah,	26 وامام وشماع ومولادة
27 Hazar-gaddah, Heshmon, Beth-pelet,	27 وحصر جدة وحشمون وبيت فالط
28 Hazar-shual, Beer-sheba and Biziothiah;	28 وحصر شوعال وبئر سبع وبزيوتية
29 Baalah, Iim, Ezem,	29 وبعلة وعيّيم وعاصم
30 Eltolad, Chesil, Hormah,	30 وألتولد وكسيل وحرمة
31 Ziklag, Madmannah, Sansannah,	31 وصقلغ ومدمنة وسنسنة
32 Lebaoth, Shilhim and En-rimmon; a total of twenty-nine cities with their villages.	32 ولباوت وشلحيم وعين ورمّون. كل المدن تسع وعشرون مع ضياعها
33 In the foothills: Eshtaol, Zorah, Ashnah,	33 في السهل اشتأول وصرعة وأشنة
34 Zanoah, Engannim, Tappuah, Enam,	34 وزانوح وعين جنيم وتفوح وعينام
35 Jarmuth, Adullam, Socoh, Azekah,	35 ويرموت وعدلام وسوكوه وعزيقة
36 Shaaraim, Adithaim, Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities and their villages.	36 وشعرايم وعديتايم والجديرة وجديروتايم. اربع عشرة مدينة مع ضياعها
37 Zenan, Hadashah, Migdal-gad,	37 صنان وحداشة ومجدل جاد
38 Dilean, Mizpeh, Joktheel,	38 ودلعان والمصفاة ويقتيئيل
39 Lachish, Bozkath, Eglon,	39 ولخيش وبصقة وعجلون
40 Cabbon, Lahmam, Chitlish,	40 وكبون ولحمام وكتليش
41 Gederoth, Beth-dagon, Naamah and Makkedah; sixteen cities and their villages.	41 وجديروت بيت داجون ونعمة ومقيدة. ست عشرة مدينة مع ضياعها.
42 Libnah, Ether, Ashan,	42 لبنة وعاتر وعاشان
43 Iphtah, Ashnah, Nezib,	43 ويفتاح واشنة ونصيب
44 Keilah, Achzib and Mareshah; nine cities and their villages.	44 وقعيلة واكزيب ومريشة. تسع مدن مع ضياعها
45 Ekron and its towns and villages;	45 عقرون وقراها وضياعها.
46 from Ekron to the sea, all the towns that lie alongside Ashdod, and their villages;	46 من عقرون غربا كل ما بقرب اشدود وضياعها.
47 Ashdod and its towns and villages; Gaza and its towns and villages, as far as the Wadi of Egypt and the coast of the Great Sea.	47 اشدود وقراها وضياعها وغزة وقراها وضياعها الى وادي مصر والبحر الكبير وتخومه
48 In the mountain regions: Shamir, Jattir, Socoh,	48 وفي الجبل شامير ويتّير وسوكوه
49 Dannah, Kiriath-sannah (that is, Debir),	49 ودنّة وقرية سنّة. هي دبير.
50 Anab, Eshtemoh, Anim,	50 وعناب واشتموه وعانيم
51 Goshen, Holon and Giloh; eleven cities and their villages.	51 وجوشن وحولون وجيلوه. احدى عشرة مدينة مع ضياعها.
52 Arab, Dumah, Eshan,	52 أراب ودومة واشعان
53 Janim, Beth-tappuah, Aphekah,	53 وينوم وبيت تفوح وافيقة
54 Humtah, Kiriath-arba (that is, Hebron), and Zior; nine cities and their villages.	54 وحمطة وقرية اربع. هي حبرون وصيعور. تسع مدن مع ضياعها.
55 Maon, Carmel, Ziph, Juttah,	55 معون وكرمل وزيف ويوطة
56 Jezreel, Jokdeam, Zanoah,	56 ويزرعيل ويقدعام وزانوح
57 Kain, Gibbeah and Timnah; ten cities and their villages.	57 والقاين وجبعة وتمنة. عشر مدن مع ضياعها.
58 Halhul, Beth-zur, Gedor,	58 حلحول وبيت صور وجدور
59 Maarath, Beth-anoth and Eltekon; six cities and their villages. Tekoa, Ephrathah (that is, Bethlehem), Peor, Etam, Kulom, Tatam, Zores, Karim, Gallim, Bether and Manoko; eleven cities and their villages.	59 ومعارة وبيت عنوت والتقون. ست مدن مع ضياعها
60 Kiriath-baal (that is, Kiriath-jearim) and Rabbah; two cities and their villages.	60 قرية بعل. هي قرية يعاريم. والربّة. مدينتان مع ضياعهما
61 In the desert: Beth-arabah, Middin, Secacah,	61 في البرية بيت العربة ومدّين وسكاكة
62 Nibshan, Ir-hamelah and En-gedi; six cities and their villages.	62 والنبشان ومدينة الملح وعين جدي. ست مدن مع ضياعها.
63 (But the Jebusites who lived in Jerusalem the Judahites could not drive out; so the Jebusites dwell in Jerusalem beside the Judahites to the present day.)	63 واما اليبوسيون الساكنون في اورشليم فلم يقدر بنو يهوذا على طردهم فسكن اليبوسيون مع بني يهوذا في اورشليم الى هذا اليوم
