Isaia 24

BIBBIA MARTINI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Ecco, che il Signore desolerà, e spoglierà la terra, e afflitta renderà la faccia di lei, e dispergerà i suoi abitatori.	1 See how Yahweh lays the earth waste, makes it a desert, buckles its surface, scatters its inhabitants,
2 E sarà come il popolo, così il sacerdote; e come lo schiavo, così il padrone; come la serva, così la padrona; come chi compra, così chi vende, come chi dà in prestito, così chi prende; come il creditore, così il debitore.	2 priest and people alike, master and slave, mistress and maid, seller and buyer, lender and borrower,creditor and debtor.
3 Disertata totalmente sarà la terra, e totalmente sarà devastata. Imperocché il Signore ha pronunziata questa parola.	3 Ravaged, ravaged the earth wil be, despoiled, despoiled, for Yahweh has uttered this word.
4 La terra è in lagrime, e si consuma, e vien meno: si consuma il mondo, si consumano gli eccelsi del popolo della terra.	4 The earth is mourning, pining away, the pick of earth's people are withering away.
5 La terra è infettata da suoi abitatori; perchè questi han trasgredite le leggi, han cambiato il diritto; hanno sciolta l'alleanza sempiterna.	5 The earth is defiled by the feet of its inhabitants, for they have transgressed the laws, violated thedecree, broken the everlasting covenant.
6 Per questo la maledizione divorerà la terra, perchè i suoi abitanti son peccatori, e per questo daranno in pazzie que', che in essa dimorano, e scarso numero d'uomini resterà.	6 That is why the curse has consumed the earth and its inhabitants pay the penalty, that is why theinhabitants of the earth have been burnt up and few people are left.
7 La vendemmia è in lutto, la vite ha perduto il vigore: sono in pianto quegli, che erano allegri di cuore.	7 The new wine is mourning, the vine is withering away, the once merry-hearted are sighing.
8 E finito il festoso suono de' timpani, cessò il romoreggiare delle allegre combriccole, la dolce cetra è in silenzio.	8 The cheerful sound of tambourines is silent, the sound of revel ing is over, the cheerful sound of theharp is silent.
9 Non più beranno vino cantando: ogni bevanda sarà amara pei bevitori.	9 No more wil they sing over their wine, liquor wil taste bitter to the drinker.
10 La città della vanità si va distruggendo, tutte le case son chiuse, né alcuno più vi entra.	10 The city of nothingness is in ruins, every house is shut, no one can enter.
11 Saran grida nelle contrade per la penuria del vino: ogni solazzo è sbandito: se n'è ita l'allegrezza della terra.	11 People shout in the streets to try to get wine; al joy has vanished, happiness has been banished fromthe country.
12 In città e rimasa la solitudine, e le porte saranno in desolazione.	12 Nothing but rubble in the city, the gate has col apsed in ruins.
13 Perocché così avverrà nel mezzo della terra, nel centro de' popoli: come se si scuotano poche olive rimaste sull'albero, e si tolgano i gracimoli finita che sia la vendemmia.	13 For at the heart of earth's life, among the peoples, it is as at the beating of the olive trees, as at thegleaning of the grapes when the grape harvest is over.
14 Questi alzeran la lor voce, e intuoneran delle laude: daranno festosi gridi dal mare, allorché sarà stato glorificato il Signore.	14 They raise their voices, shouting for joy, in Yahweh's honour they shout from the west.
15 Per questo colla dottrina glorificate il Signore, il nome del Signore Dio d'Israele nelle isole del mare.	15 'Yes, in the east, give glory to Yahweh, in the islands of the sea, to the name of Yahweh, God ofIsrael!'
16 Dalle estremità della terra abbiamo udito cantarsi laude a gloria del giusto. Ed io dissi: Il mio segreto è per me: il mio segreto è per me: povero me! i prevaricatori hanno prevaricato, ed hanno prevaricato con prevaricazione da protervi.	16 We have heard psalms from the remotest parts of earth, 'Glory to the Upright One!' But I thought,'What an ordeal, what an ordeal! What misery for me!' The traitors have betrayed, the traitors have acted mosttreacherously.
17 La scacciata, e la fossa, e il laccio sono per te, che sei abitator della terra.	17 Fear, the pit and the snare for you, inhabitants of the city!
18 E chi dalla scacciata si salverà, cadrà nella fossa, e chi si salverà dalla fossa, sarà preso al laccio; perocché si apriranno dall'alto le cataratte, e le fondamenta della terra saranno scosse.	18 And whoever flees from the cry of fear wil fal into the pit, and whoever climbs out of the pit will becaught in the snare. Yes, the sluice-gates above are open, the foundations of the earth are quaking.
19 Sarà spezzata con gran fracasso la terra; si spaccherà con crepature grandi la terra; sarà scommossa con isconvolgimento grande la terra,	19 A cracking, the earth cracks open, a jolting, the earth gives a jolt, a lurching, the earth lurchesbackwards and forwards.
20 Sarà in agitazione la terra come un ubbriaco; e muterà sito come un padiglione, che sta fermo una notte: sarà a lei grave peso la sua iniquità, ed ella cadrà, né potrà più rialzarsi.	20 The earth wil reel to and fro like a drunkard, it will be shaken like a shanty; so heavy wil be its sin onit, it wil fal , never to rise again.
21 E in quel giorno visiterà il Signore la milizia del cielo nell'alto: e re della terra, i quali sono sopra la terra.	21 When that day comes, Yahweh wil punish the armies of the sky above and on earth the kings of theearth;
22 E saran riuniti tutti in un fascio nella fossa, e ivi saran chiusi in prigione; ed anche dopo molti giorni saranno visitati.	22 they wil be herded together, herded together like prisoners in a dungeon and shut up in gaol, and,after long years, punished.
23 E la luna arrossirà, e il sole si oscurerà, allorché il Signore Dio degli eserciti sarà entrato al possesso del regno nel monte di Sion, e in Gerusalemme, e sarà glorificato nel cospetto de' suoi seniori.	23 The moon will be confused and the sun ashamed, for Yahweh Sabaoth is king on Mount Zion and inJerusalem, and the Glory will radiate on their elders.
