1 Sopra i cantici salmo di intelligenza di Davidde, essendo andati gli Zifei a dire a Saulle: Davidde non è egli nascosto nel nostro paese? Salvami, o Dio, pel tuo nome, colla tua potenza difendimi.	1 To the choirmaster: according to Mahalath. A Maskil of David. The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, doing abominable iniquity; there is none that does good.
2 Esaudisci, o Dio, la mia orazione: porgi orecchie alle parole della mia bocca.	2 God looks down from heaven upon the sons of men to see if there are any that are wise, that seek after God.
3 Imperocché uomini stranieri hanno alzato bandiera contro di me; e uomini potenti cercano l'anima mia, e non hanno avuto Dio dinanzi agli occhi loro.	3 They have all fallen away; they are all alike depraved; there is none that does good, no, not one.
4 Ecco però, che Dio mi aiuta, e il Signore ha presa a difendere la mia vita.	4 Have those who work evil no understanding, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call upon God?
5 Ritorci il male sopra de' miei nemici, e dispergili secondo la tua verità.	5 There they are, in great terror, in terror such as has not been! For God will scatter the bones of the ungodly; they will be put to shame, for God has rejected them.
6 Ti offerirò sagrifizio volontario, e darò laude al nome tuo, o Signore, per ché buona cosa ell'è questa.	6 O that deliverance for Israel would come from Zion! When God restores the fortunes of his people, Jacob will rejoice and Israel be glad.
7 Perocché da ogni tribolazione me hai liberato, e gli occhi miei con disprezzo han veduti li miei nemici.
