1 The man that with a stiff neck despiseth him that reproveth him, shall suddenly be destroyed: and health shall not follow him.	1 - All'uomo caparbio che ostinatamente disprezza chi lo corregge, sopravverrà improvvisa ruina e senza ulteriore rimedio.
2 When just men increase, the people shall rejoice: when the wicked shall bear rule, the people shall mourn.	2 Al moltiplicarsi dei giusti la gente godràe quando gli empi saliranno al potere, il popolo gemerà.
3 A man that loveth wisdom, rejoiceth his father: but he that maintaineth bar lots, shall squander away his substance.	3 L'uomo che ama la sapienza rallegra suo padre, e chi mantiene le meretrici dissipa le sue sostanze.
4 A just king setteth up the land: a covetous man shall destroy it.	4 Un re giusto consolida lo stato e un uomo avaro lo manda in rovina.
5 A man that speaketh to his friend with flattering and dissembling words, spreadeth a net for his feet.	5 L'uomo che usa parole finte e adulatrici coll'amico, tende una rete ai suoi passi.
6 A snare shall entangle the wicked man when he sinneth: and the just shall praise and rejoice.	6 L'uomo iniquo che pecca cadrà in un laccio, ma il giusto canterà e godrà.
7 The just taketh notice of the cause of the poor: the wicked is void of knowledge.	7 Il giusto prende a cuore la causa dei poveri, l'empio non sa considerare.
8 Corrupt men bring a city to ruin: but wise men turn away wrath.	8 Gli uomini beffardi mettono in subbuglio la cittàe i saggi ne calmano il furore.
9 If a wise man contend with a fool, whether he be angry or laugh, he shall find no rest.	9 L'uomo sapiente se viene a contesa con lo stolto, sia che s'adiri o che rida, non troverà quiete.
10 Bloodthirsty men hate the upright: but just men seek his soul.	10 Gli uomini sanguinari odiano il semplice, e i giusti cercano l'anima di lui.
11 A fool uttereth all his mind: a wise man deferreth, and keepeth it till afterwards.	11 Lo stolto esala tutta la sua animosità, il saggio differisce e si riserva per poi.
12 A prince that gladly heareth lying words, hath all his servants wicked.	12 Un principe che ascolti volentieri le parole della menzogna, ha tutti i suoi ministri malvagi.
13 The poor man and the creditor have met one another: the Lord is the enlightener of them both.	13 Il povero ed il creditore si sono incontrati, chi somministra il lume ad ambedue è il Signore.
14 The king that judgeth the poor in truth, his throne shall be established for ever.	14 Un re che giudica con verità i poveriavrà il suo trono stabile in eterno.
15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but the child that is left to his own will bringeth his mother to shame.	15 La verga e la correzione danno sapienza e un fanciullo abbandonato a se stesso, fa vergogna a sua madre.
16 When the wicked are multiplied, crimes shall be multiplied: but the just shall see their downfall.	16 Col moltiplicarsi degli empi moltiplicano i delitti, ma i giusti vedranno la loro caduta.
17 Instruct thy son, and he shall refresh thee, and shall give delight to thy soul.	17 Educa il tuo figlio e ti darà conforto, e ti procaccerà delizie all'anima.
18 When prophecy shall fail, the people shall be scattered abroad: but he that keepeth the law is blessed.	18 Quando verrà meno la parola ispirata il popolo andrà in rovina, ma chi osserva le leggi, beato lui!
19 A slave will not be corrected by words: because he understandeth what thou sayest, and will not answer.	19 Il servo a sole parole non si correggeperchè intende quel che dici, ma di corrispondere non se ne cura.
20 Hast thou seen a man hasty to speak? folly is rather to be looked for, than his amendment.	20 Hai visto un uomo veloce a parlare? Stoltezza c'è più da aspettarsi da costui, che emendazione.
21 He that nourisheth his servant delicately from his childhood, afterwards shall find him stubborn.	21 Chi alleva delicatamente il suo servo dalla fanciullezzalo proverà poi contumace.
22 A passionate man provoketh quarrels: and he that is easily stirred up to wrath, shall be more prone to sin.	22 L'uomo collerico attizza le contese e chi è facile al risentimento è più proclive al peccato.
23 Humiliation followeth the proud: and glory shall uphold the humble of spirit.	23 L'umiliazione tien dietro al superbo e la gloria andrà incontro all'umile.
24 He that is partaker with a thief, hateth his own soul: he heareth one putting him to his oath, and discovereth not.	24 Chi spartisce col ladro, odia l'anima sua, ode l'imprecazione e non denuncia [il ladro].
25 He that feareth man, shall quickly fall: he that trusteth in the Lord, shall be set on high.	25 Chi ha timore dell'uomo presto cadrà, e chi spera nel Signore sarà esaltato.
26 Many seek the face of the prince: but the judgment of every one cometh forth from the Lord.	26 Molti cercano il favore del principe, ma dal Signore esce il giudizio su ciascuno.
27 The just abhor the wicked man: and the wicked loathe them that are in the right way. The son that keepeth the word, shall be free from destruction.	27 I giusti hanno in orrore l'uomo empio, e gli empi detestano quelli che sono sulla retta via. Il figlio che fa tesoro della parola, sarà incolume dalla perdizione.
