1 The Lord is the God to whom revenge belongeth: the God of revenge hath acted freely.	1 Uram, bosszúállás Istene, bosszúállás Istene, jelenj meg!
2 Lift up thyself, thou that judgest the earth: render a reward to the proud.	2 Kelj fel, ó föld bírája, fizess meg a kevélyeknek!
3 How long shall sinners, O Lord: how long shall sinners glory?	3 Meddig fognak, Uram, a bűnösök, meddig fognak még a bűnösök dicsekedni?
4 Shall they utter, and speak iniquity: shall all speak who work injustice?	4 Fecsegnek, vakmerően gonoszságot beszélnek és kérkednek mind a gonosztevők.
5 Thy people, O Lord, they have brought low: and they have afflicted thy inheritance.	5 Népedet, Uram, elnyomják, örökségedet sanyargatják.
6 They have slain the widow and the stranger: and they have murdered the fatherless.	6 Meggyilkolják az özvegyet s a jövevényt, lemészárolják az árvákat.
7 And they have said: The Lord shall not see: neither shall the God of Jacob understand.	7 Azt mondják: »Nem látja ezt az Úr, Nem veszi észre Jákob Istene.«
8 Understand, ye senseless among the people: and, you fools, be wise at last.	8 Eszméljetek, ti oktalanjai a népnek, ostobák mikor tértek észhez?
9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? or he that formed the eye, doth he not consider?	9 A fül plántálója ne hallana, s a szem alkotója ne látna?
10 He that chastiseth nations, shall he not rebuke: he that teacheth man knowledge?	10 Ne büntetne, aki dorgálja a népeket, aki tudományra tanítja az embert?
11 The Lord knoweth the thoughts of men, that they are vain.	11 Ismeri az Úr az emberek gondolatait és tudja, hogy hiábavalók.
12 Blessed is the man whom thou shalt instruct, O Lord: and shalt teach him out of thy law.	12 Boldog az az ember, akit te oktatsz, Uram, és megtanítasz törvényedre,
13 That thou mayst give him rest from the evil days: till a pit be dug for the wicked.	13 hogy megóvd őt a gonosz napoktól, amíg a bűnös számára a verem el nem készül.
14 For the Lord will not cast off his people: neither will he forsake his own inheritance.	14 Mert nem taszítja el népét az Úr, és nem hagyja el örökségét.
15 Until justice be turned into judgment: and they that are near it are all the upright in heart.	15 Mert az ítélkezés visszatér az igazsághoz, és követik mind az igazszívűek.
16 Who shall rise up for me against the evildoers? or who shall stand with me against the workers of iniquity?	16 Ki kel fel értem a gonoszok ellen, ki áll mellém a gonosztevőkkel szemben?
17 Unless the Lord had been my helper, my soul had almost dwelt in hell.	17 Ha az Úr nem nyújtott volna segítséget, már-már a némaság helyén lakoznék a lelkem.
18 If I said: My foot is moved: thy mercy, O Lord, assisted me.	18 Ha azt mondtam: »Inog a lábam«, megsegített a te irgalmad, Uram.
19 According to the multitude of my sorrows in my heart, thy comforts have given joy to my soul.	19 Bármilyen sok fájdalmam volt szívemben, vigasztalásaid felvidítottak engem.
20 Doth the seat of iniquity stick to thee, who framest labour in commandment?	20 Lehet-e köze hozzád a hamisság ítélőszékének, amely nyomorúságot szerez a törvény ellenére?
21 They will hunt after the soul of the just, and will condemn innocent blood.	21 Az igaz életére leskelődnek ők, s elítélik az ártatlan vért.
22 But the Lord is my refuge: and my God the help of my hope.	22 De nekem oltalmam lett az Úr, és menedékem sziklája az én Istenem;
23 And he will render them their iniquity: and in their malice he will destroy them: the Lord our God will destroy them.	23 Ő megtorolja rajtuk hamisságukat, saját gonoszságukkal semmisíti meg őket; Megsemmisíti őket az Úr, a mi Istenünk.
