1 Voici les étapes des Israélites après leur sortie du pays d’Égypte sous la conduite de Moïse et d’Aaron.	1 These are the lodging places of the sons of Israel, who departed from Egypt by their companies under the hand of Moses and Aaron,
2 Moïse nota les points de départ de chacune de leurs étapes ordonnées par Yahvé. En voici donc le relevé:	2 which Moses wrote down according to the places of the encampments, which they changed upon the order of the Lord.
3 Ils partirent de Ramsès le quinzième jour du premier mois. C’était le lendemain de la Pâque, et les Israélites sortirent la tête haute sous les yeux de toute l’Égypte,	3 Thus the sons of Israel set out from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month, on the day after the Passover, with an exalted hand, being seen by all the Egyptians.
4 tandis que les Égyptiens enterraient tous les leurs, tous les premiers-nés qui avaient été frappés par Yahvé. Yahvé avait fait justice de leurs dieux.	4 And these were burying their firstborn, whom the Lord had struck down (for so, too, did he carry out retribution against their gods).
5 Les Israélites partirent donc de Ramsès et campèrent à Soukkoth.	5 And they made camp at Soccoth.
6 Partis de Soukkoth, ils campèrent à Étam à la limite du désert.	6 And from Soccoth they went to Etham, which is at the furthest limits of the wilderness.
7 Partis d’Étam, ils revinrent sur Pi-Hahirot en face de Baal-Séfon et campèrent devant Migdol.	7 Departing from there, they arrived opposite Pi-hahiroth, which looks out toward Baal-zephon, and they were encamped before Migdol.
8 Partis de Pi-Hahirot, ils passèrent à travers la mer en direction du désert et, après trois jours de marche dans le désert d’Étam, ils campèrent à Mara.	8 And setting out from Pi-hahiroth, they crossed through the middle of the Sea into the wilderness. And having walked for three days through the desert of Etham, they made camp at Marah.
9 Partis de Mara, ils arrivèrent à Élim, l’oasis des 12 sources et des 70 palmiers, et ils y campèrent.	9 And setting out from Marah, they arrived at Elim, where there were twelve fountains of water and seventy palm trees. And they set up camp there.
10 Partis d’Élim, ils campèrent près de la mer des Joncs.	10 But departing from there also, they fixed their tents above the Red Sea. And setting out from the Red Sea,
11 Partis de la mer des Joncs, ils campèrent dans le désert de Sin.	11 they were encamped in the desert of Sin.
12 Partis du désert de Sin, ils campèrent à Dofka.	12 Departing from there, they went to Dophkah.
13 Partis de Dofka, ils campèrent à Alouch.	13 And setting out from Dophkah, they made camp at Alush.
14 Partis d’Alouch, ils campèrent à Réfidim, où le peuple ne trouva pas d’eau à boire.	14 And departing from Alush, they fixed their tents at Rephidim, where the people lacked water to drink.
15 Partis de Réfidim, ils campèrent dans le désert du Sinaï.	15 And setting out from Rephidim, they camped in the desert of Sinai.
16 Partis du désert du Sinaï, ils campèrent à Kibrot-Ha-Taava.	16 But departing also from the wilderness of the Sinai, they arrived at the Graves of Lust.
17 Partis de Kibrot-Ha-Taava, ils campèrent à Hasérot.	17 And setting out from the Graves of Lust, they were encamped at Hazeroth.
18 Partis de Hasérot, ils campèrent à Ritma.	18 And from Hazeroth, they went to Rithmah.
19 Partis de Ritma, ils campèrent à Rimmon-Pérez.	19 And setting out from Rithmah, they made camp at Rimmon-perez.
20 Partis de Rimmon-Pérez, ils campèrent à Libna.	20 And departing from there, they arrived at Libnah.
21 Partis de Libna, ils campèrent à Rissa.	21 From Libnah, they made camp at Rissah.
22 Partis de Rissa, ils campèrent à Kéhélata.	22 And departing from Rissah, they went to Kehelathah.
23 Partis de Kéhélata, ils campèrent au mont Chéfer.	23 Setting out from there, they were encamped at mount Shepher.
24 Partis du mont Chéfer, ils campèrent à Harada.	24 Departing from mount Shepher, they went to Haradah.
25 Partis de Harada, ils campèrent à Makélot.	25 Continuing on from there, they made camp at Makheloth.
26 Partis de Makélot, ils campèrent à Tahat.	26 And setting out from Makheloth, they went to Tahath.
27 Partis de Tahat, ils campèrent à Térah.	27 From Tahath, they made camp at Terah.
28 Partis de Térah, ils campèrent à Mitka.	28 Departing from there, they pitched their tents at Mithkah.
29 Partis de Mitka, ils campèrent à Hachmona.	29 And from Mithkah, they were encamped at Hashmonah.
30 Partis de Hachmona, ils campèrent à Mosérot.	30 And setting out from Hashmonah, they went to Moseroth.
31 Partis de Mosérot, ils campèrent à Béné-Yaakan.	31 And from Moseroth, they made camp at Bene-jaakan.
32 Partis de Béné-Yaakan, ils campèrent à Hor-Gidgad.	32 And setting out from Bene-jaakan, they went to mount Gidgad.
33 Partis de Hor-Gidgad, ils campèrent à Yotbata.	33 Setting out from there, they were encamped at Jotbathah.
34 Partis de Yotbata, ils campèrent à Abrona.	34 And from Jotbathah, they went to Abronah.
35 Partis d’Abrona, ils campèrent à Ézyon-Guéber.	35 And departing from Abronah, they made camp at Eziongeber.
36 Partis d’Ézyon-Guéber, ils campèrent dans le désert de Tsin, plus précisément à Qadesh.	36 Setting out from there, they went into the desert of Sin, which is Kadesh.
37 Partis de Qadesh, ils campèrent à Hor-la-Montagne sur la frontière du pays d’Édom.	37 And departing from Kadesh, they encamped at mount Hor, at the furthermost limits of the land of Edom.
38 Aaron le prêtre monta à Hor-la-Montagne sur l’ordre de Yahvé, et c’est là qu’il mourut en la quarantième année après la sortie d’Égypte des Israélites. C’était le premier jour du cinquième mois,	38 And Aaron the priest ascended onto mount Hor, by the order of the Lord. And there he died, in the fortieth year of the departure of the sons of Israel from Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month,
39 Aaron était âgé de 123 ans lorsqu’il mourut à Hor-la-Montagne.	39 when he was one hundred twenty-three years old.
40 (Le roi d’Arad, un Cananéen qui habitait le Négueb du pays de Canaan apprit l’arrivée des Israélites.)	40 And king Arad the Canaanite, who lived toward the south, heard that the sons of Israel had arrived in the land of Canaan.
41 Partis de Hor-la-Montagne, ils campèrent à Salmona.	41 And setting out from mount Hor, they made camp at Zalmonah.
42 Partis de Salmona, ils campèrent à Pounon.	42 Departing from there, they went to Punon.
43 Partis de Pounon, ils campèrent à Obot.	43 And setting out from Punon, they were encamped at Oboth.
44 Partis d’Obot, ils campèrent aux Ruines-des-Abarim sur la frontière de Moab.	44 And from Oboth, they went to Iye-abarim, which is at the borders of the Moabites.
45 Partis des Ruines, ils campèrent à Dibon-Gad.	45 And setting out from Iye-abarim, they fixed their tents at Dibon-gad.
46 Partis de Dibon-Gad, ils campèrent à Almon-Diblatayim.	46 Departing from there, they made camp at Almon-diblathaim.
47 Partis d’Almon-Diblatayim, ils campèrent au mont Abarim en face du Nébo.	47 And departing from Almon-diblathaim, they went to the mountains of Abarim, opposite Nebo.
48 Partis des Abarim, ils campèrent aux Steppes-de-Moab près du Jourdain face à Jéricho.	48 And setting out from the mountains of Abarim, they crossed over to the plains of Moab, above the Jordan, opposite Jericho.
49 Ils campèrent près du Jourdain, entre Beth-Ha-Yéchimot et Abel-Ha-Chittim, dans les Steppes-de-Moab.	49 And they made camp there, from Beth-jeshimoth all the way to Abel-shittim, in the level places of the Moabites,
50 Yahvé dit à Moïse dans les Steppes-de-Moab, près du Jourdain, face à Jéricho:	50 where the Lord said to Moses:
51 “Voici ce que tu diras aux Israélites: Lorsque vous aurez traversé le Jourdain pour entrer au pays de Canaan,	51 “Instruct the sons of Israel, and say to them: When you will have crossed over the Jordan, entering into the land of Canaan,
52 il vous faudra chasser devant vous tous les habitants du pays. Vous briserez toutes leurs idoles, vous détruirez toutes leurs statues de métal fondu et vous laisserez en ruines les hauts-lieux.	52 destroy all the inhabitants of that land. Break their monuments, and shatter their statues, and lay waste to every exalted thing,
53 Vous serez alors les propriétaires du pays que vous habiterez, car je vous l’ai donné pour que vous le possédiez.	53 cleansing the land and living in it. For I have given it you as a possession,
54 Vous vous partagerez le pays par le sort, selon vos familles. Les plus nombreux recevront un plus grand héritage, les moins nombreux recevront un héritage moindre. On donnera à chacun ce que le sort lui attribuera. Vous partagerez entre vous d’après les tribus.	54 which you shall divide among you by lot. To the greater number you shall give more, and to the lesser number, less. To each one, just as the lot shall fall, so shall the inheritance be distributed. The possession shall be divided by the tribes and families.
55 Mais si vous ne chassez pas devant vous les habitants de ce pays, ceux que vous aurez laissés deviendront comme des épines devant vos yeux et des aiguillons dans vos flancs; ils seront vos adversaires sur votre propre terre.	55 But if you are not willing to put to death the inhabitants of the land, those who remain shall be to you like spikes in your eyes and lances in your sides, and they shall be adversaries to you in the land of your habitation.
56 Et alors, tout ce que je pensais leur faire, c’est à vous que je le ferai.”	56 And whatever I had decided to do to them, I will do to you.”
