| 1 Riguardo ai doni dello Spirito, o fratelli, non voglio che restiate nell'ignoranza. | 1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be uninformed. |
| 2 Sapete che quando eravate pagani vi lasciavate trasportare verso gli idoli muti secondo l'ispirazione del momento. | 2 You know that when you were heathen, you were led astray to dumb idols, however you may have been moved. |
| 3 Perciò vi dichiaro che nessuno, mosso dallo Spirito di Dio, può dire: "Maledizione a Gesù", e nessuno può dire: "Gesù Signore", se non in virtù dello Spirito Santo. | 3 Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says "Jesus be cursed!" and no one can say "Jesus is Lord" except by the Holy Spirit. |
| 4 C'è poi varietà di doni, ma un solo Spirito; | 4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; |
| 5 c'è varietà di ministeri, ma un solo Signore; | 5 and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; |
| 6 c'è varietà di operazioni, ma un solo Dio, che opera tutto in tutti. | 6 and there are varieties of working, but it is the same God who inspires them all in every one. |
| 7 E a ciascuno è data la manifestazione dello Spirito per l'utilità comune: | 7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. |
| 8 a uno viene data, dallo Spirito, parola di sapienza; a un altro, invece, mediante lo stesso Spirito, parola di scienza; | 8 To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, |
| 9 a uno la fede, per lo stesso Spirito; a un altro il dono delle guarigioni nell'identico Spirito; | 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, |
| 10 a uno il potere dei prodigi; a un altro il dono della profezia; a un altro il discernimento degli spiriti; a un altro la varietà delle lingue; a un altro l'interpretazione delle lingue. | 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. |
| 11 Ma tutte queste cose le opera il medesimo e identico Spirito, distribuendole a ciascuno come vuole. | 11 All these are inspired by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills. |
| 12 Come il corpo, pur essendo uno, ha molte membra, e tutte le membra, pur essendo molte, sono un corpo solo, così anche il Cristo. | 12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. |
| 13 Siamo stati infatti battezzati tutti in un solo Spirito per formare un corpo solo, sia Giudei sia Greci, sia schiavi sia liberi; e tutti siamo stati abbeverati nel medesimo Spirito. | 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body--Jews or Greeks, slaves or free--and all were made to drink of one Spirit. |
| 14 Ora, il corpo non risulta di un membro solo, ma di molte membra. | 14 For the body does not consist of one member but of many. |
| 15 Se il piede dicesse: "Siccome io non sono mano, non appartengo al corpo", non per questo non farebbe parte del corpo. | 15 If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," that would not make it any less a part of the body. |
| 16 E se l'orecchio dicesse: "Siccome io non sono occhio, non appartengo al corpo", non per questo non farebbe parte del corpo. | 16 And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," that would not make it any less a part of the body. |
| 17 Se il corpo fosse tutto occhio, dove sarebbe l'udito? Se fosse tutto udito, dove l'odorato? | 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? |
| 18 Ma Dio ha disposto le membra in modo distinto nel corpo, come ha voluto. | 18 But as it is, God arranged the organs in the body, each one of them, as he chose. |
| 19 Che se tutto fosse un membro solo, dove sarebbe il corpo? | 19 If all were a single organ, where would the body be? |
| 20 Invece molte sono le membra, ma uno solo è il corpo. | 20 As it is, there are many parts, yet one body. |
| 21 E l'occhio non può dire alla mano: "Non ho bisogno di te"; né la testa ai piedi: "Non ho bisogno di voi". | 21 The eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you," nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you." |
| 22 Ché, anzi, quelle membra del corpo che sembrano più deboli sono più necessarie; | 22 On the contrary, the parts of the body which seem to be weaker are indispensable, |
| 23 e quelle che riteniamo più ignobili le circondiamo di maggior rispetto, e quelle indecorose ricevono più riguardo, | 23 and those parts of the body which we think less honorable we invest with the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, |
| 24 mentre quelle decorose non ne hanno bisogno. Ma Dio ha contemperato il corpo, conferendo maggiore onore a chi ne mancava, | 24 which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving the greater honor to the inferior part, |
| 25 perché non vi fosse disunione nel corpo, ma le membra cooperassero al bene vicendevole. | 25 that there may be no discord in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. |
| 26 Quindi se un membro soffre, tutte le membra ne soffrono; se un membro è onorato, tutte le membra gioiscono con lui. | 26 If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. |
| 27 Ora voi siete corpo di Cristo e sue membra, ciascuno in particolare. | 27 Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. |
| 28 Alcuni sono stati posti da Dio nella Chiesa al primo grado come apostoli, al secondo come profeti, al terzo come dottori; poi vengono i prodigi, poi i doni di guarigione, quelli che hanno il dono dell'assistenza, del governo, delle lingue. | 28 And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, then healers, helpers, administrators, speakers in various kinds of tongues. |
| 29 Sono forse tutti apostoli? Tutti profeti? Tutti dottori? Tutti operatori di prodigi? | 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? |
| 30 Tutti possiedono doni di guarigione? Tutti parlano in lingue? Tutti fanno da interpreti? | 30 Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? |
| 31 Voi, però, aspirate ai doni maggiori. Ora io vi addito una via ancora più eccellente. | 31 But earnestly desire the higher gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way. |
