| 1 Paolo creato Apostolo non dagli uomini, né per mezzo di un uomo, ma da Gesù Cristo, e da Dio Padre, che lui risuscitò da morte: | 1 Paul an apostle--not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead-- |
| 2 E tutti i fratelli, che sono meco, alle Chiese della Galazia. | 2 and all the brethren who are with me, To the churches of Galatia: |
| 3 Grazia a voi, e pace da Dio Padre, e dal Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, | 3 Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, |
| 4 Il quale diede se stesso pe' nostri peccati, per cavarci dal presente secolo maligno secondo la volontà di Dio, e padre nostro, | 4 who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father; |
| 5 Cui è gloria ne' secoli de' secoli: cosi sia. | 5 to whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen. |
| 6 Mi stupisco, come così presto fate passaggio da colui, che vi chiamò alla grazia di Cristo, ad un altro vangelo: | 6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and turning to a different gospel-- |
| 7 Sebbene non ve n'è altro, ma vi sono alcuni, che vi sconturbano, e voglion capivoltare il Vangelo di Cristo. | 7 not that there is another gospel, but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. |
| 8 Ma quand'anche noi, o un Angelo del cielo evangelizzi a voi oltre quello, che abbiamo a voi evangelizzato, sia anatema. | 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we preached to you, let him be accursed. |
| 9 Come dissi per l'innanzi dico anche adesso: se alcuno evangelizzerà a voi oltre quello, che avete appreso, sia anatema. | 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, If any one is preaching to you a gospel contrary to that which you received, let him be accursed. |
| 10 Imperocché al dì d'oggi predico io gli uomini, o Dio? Cerco io forse dipiacere agli uomini: Se tuttora piacessi agli uomini, non sarei servo di Cristo. | 10 Am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still pleasing men, I should not be a servant of Christ. |
| 11 Or vi fo sapere, o fratelli, come il vangelo, che è stato evangelizzato da me, non è cosa umana: | 11 For I would have you know, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not man's gospel. |
| 12 Imperocché non lo ho ricevuto, né lo ho imparato da un uomo, ma per rivelazione di Gesù Cristo. | 12 For I did not receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through a revelation of Jesus Christ. |
| 13 Imperocché voi avete sentito dire, com'io mi diportassi una volta nel giudaismo, come formisura io perseguitava la Chiesa di Dio, e la devastava, | 13 For you have heard of my former life in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God violently and tried to destroy it; |
| 14 E mi avanzava nel giudaismo sopra molti miei coetanei della mia condizione, più gran zelatore essendo delle paterne mie tradizioni. | 14 and I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people, so extremely zealous was I for the traditions of my fathers. |
| 15 Ma allorché piacque a colui, che mi aveva segregato fin dall'utero di mia madre, ed il quale per sua grazia mi chiamò, | 15 But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and had called me through his grace, |
| 16 Di rivelare a me il suo figliuolo, affinchè io lo predicassi alle genti, subitamente non presi consiglio dalla carne, e dal sangue, | 16 was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not confer with flesh and blood, |
| 17 Né andai a Gerusalemme da quegli, che erano Apostoli prima di me, ma me ne andai nell'Arabia, e di nuovo ritornai a Damasco: | 17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia; and again I returned to Damascus. |
| 18 Indi tre anni dopo andai a Gerusalemme per visitare Pietro, e stetti presso di lui quindici giorni: | 18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas, and remained with him fifteen days. |
| 19 Alcun altro non vidi degli Apostoli, ma solo Giacomo fratello del Signore. | 19 But I saw none of the other apostles except James the Lord's brother. |
| 20 In quello, che a voi scrivo, testimone presente è Dio, che io non mentisco. | 20 (In what I am writing to you, before God, I do not lie!) |
| 21 Di poi andai ne' paesi della Siria, e della Cilicia. | 21 Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia. |
| 22 Né io era conosciuto di vista dalle Chiese di Cristo nella Giudea: | 22 And I was still not known by sight to the churches of Christ in Judea; |
| 23 E solamente avevan sentito dire: colui, che una volta ci perseguitava, evangelizza ora la fede, cui già detestava; | 23 they only heard it said, "He who once persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy." |
| 24 E per causa mia glorificavano il Signore. | 24 And they glorified God because of me. |
