Psalms 103

KING JAMES BIBLE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.	1 [Of David] Bless Yahweh, my soul, from the depths of my being, his holy name;
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:	2 bless Yahweh, my soul, never forget al his acts of kindness.
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;	3 He forgives al your offences, cures al your diseases,
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;	4 he redeems your life from the abyss, crowns you with faithful love and tenderness;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.	5 he contents you with good things al your life, renews your youth like an eagle's.
6 The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.	6 Yahweh acts with uprightness, with justice to all who are oppressed;
7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.	7 he revealed to Moses his ways, his great deeds to the children of Israel.
8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.	8 Yahweh is tenderness and pity, slow to anger and rich in faithful love;
9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.	9 his indignation does not last for ever, nor his resentment remain for al time;
10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.	10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve, nor repay us as befits our offences.
11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.	11 As the height of heaven above earth, so strong is his faithful love for those who fear him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.	12 As the distance of east from west, so far from us does he put our faults.
13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.	13 As tenderly as a father treats his children, so Yahweh treats those who fear him;
14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.	14 he knows of what we are made, he remembers that we are dust.
15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.	15 As for a human person -- his days are like grass, he blooms like the wild flowers;
16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.	16 as soon as the wind blows he is gone, never to be seen there again.
17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;	17 But Yahweh's faithful love for those who fear him is from eternity and for ever; and his saving justiceto their children's children;
18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.	18 as long as they keep his covenant, and careful y obey his precepts.
19 The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.	19 Yahweh has fixed his throne in heaven, his sovereign power rules over all.
20 Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.	20 Bless Yahweh, al his angels, mighty warriors who fulfil his commands, attentive to the sound of hiswords.
21 Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.	21 Bless Yahweh, al his armies, servants who fulfil his wishes.
22 Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.	22 Bless Yahweh, al his works, in every place where he rules. Bless Yahweh, my soul.
