Job 37

1 Mi corazón también por eso tiembla, y salta fuera de su sitio.	1 At this my heart trembles and leaps out of its place,
2 ¡Escuchad, escuchad el fragor de su voz, el bramido que sale de su boca!	2 To hear his angry voice as it rumbles forth from his mouth!
3 Hace relampaguear por todo el cielo, su fulgor llega a los extremos de la tierra.	3 Everywhere under the heavens he sends it, with his lightning, to the ends of the earth.
4 Detrás de él una voz ruge: truena él con su soberbia voz, y sus rayos no retiene, mientras su voz retumba.	4 Again his voice roars-- the majestic sound of his thunder.
5 Dios nos da a ver maravillas, grandes cosas hace que no comprendemos.	5 He does great things beyond our knowing; wonders past our searching out.
6 Cuando dice a la nieve: «¡Cae sobre la tierra!», y a los aguaceros: «¡Lloved fuerte!»,	6 For he says to the snow, "Fall to the earth"; likewise to his heavy, drenching rain.
7 la mano de todo hombre retiene bajo sello, para que todos conozcan su obra.	7 He shuts up all mankind indoors;
8 Las fieras a sus guaridas huyen y en sus cubiles se cobijan.	8 the wild beasts take to cover and remain quietly in their dens.
9 Del sur llega el huracán, el frío, de los vientos del norte.	9 Out of its chamber comes forth the tempest; from the north winds, the cold.
10 Al soplo de Dios se forma el hielo, se congela la extensión de las aguas.	10 With his breath God brings the frost, and the broad waters become congealed.
11 El carga a la nube de un rayo, el nublado esparce su fulgor,	11 With hail, also, the clouds are laden, as they scatter their flashes of light.
12 y éste, gira girando, circula conforme a sus designios. Así ejecutan sus órdenes en todo sobre la haz de su orbe terráqueo.	12 He it is who changes their rounds, according to his plans, in their task upon the surface of the earth,
13 Ya como castigo para los pueblos de la tierra, ya como gracia, él los envía.	13 whether for punishment or mercy, as he commands.
14 Presta, Job, oído a esto, tente y observa los prodigios de Dios.	14 Hearken to this, O Job! Stand and consider the wondrous works of God!
15 ¿Sabes acaso cómo Dios los rige, y cómo su nube hace brillar el rayo?	15 Do you know how God lays his commands upon them, and makes the light shine forth from his clouds?
16 ¿Sabes tú cómo las nubes cuelgan en equilibrio, 7 maravilla de una ciencia consumada?	16 Do you know how the clouds are banked, the wondrous work of him who is perfect in knowledge?
17 Tú, cuyos vestidos queman cuando está quieta la tierra bajo el viento del sur,	17 You, whom the streams of water fail when a calm from the south comes over the land,
18 ¿puedes extender con él la bóveda del cielo, sólida como espejo de metal fundido?	18 Do you spread out with him the firmament of the skies, hard as a brazen mirror?
19 Enséñanos qué le hemos de decir: no discutiremos más, debido a las tinieblas.	19 Teach us then what we shall say to him; we cannot, for the darkness, make our plea.
20 Si hablo yo, ¿alguien se lo cuenta? ¿es informado de lo que un hombre ha dicho?	20 Will he be told about it when I speak, or when a man says he is being destroyed?
21 Ahora ya no se ve la luz, que queda oscurecida por las nubes; pero pasa el viento y las despeja,	21 Nay, rather, it is as the light which men see not while it is obscured among the clouds, till the wind comes by and sweeps the clouds away.
22 y una claridad llega del norte: gloria terrible alrededor de Dios,	22 From the North the splendor comes, surrounding God's awesome majesty!
23 ¡es Sadday!, no podemos alcanzarle. Grande en fuerza y equidad, maestro de justicia, sin oprimir a nadie.	23 The Almighty! we cannot discover him, pre-eminent in power and judgment; his great justice owes no one an accounting.
24 Por eso le temen los hombres: ¡a él la veneración de todos los sabios de corazón!	24 Therefore men revere him, though none can see him, however wise their hearts.
