1 Hallelujah!1 Al eluia! Praise Yahweh, my soul!
2 Praise the LORD, my soul; I shall praise the LORD all my life, sing praise to my God while I live.2 I wil praise Yahweh al my life, I will make music to my God as long as I live.
3 I Put no trust in princes, in mere mortals powerless to save.3 Do not put your trust in princes, in any child of Adam, who has no power to save.
4 When they breathe their last, they return to the earth; that day all their planning comes to nothing.4 When his spirit goes forth he returns to the earth, on that very day al his plans come to nothing.
5 Happy those whose help is Jacob's God, whose hope is in the LORD, their God,5 How blessed is he who has Jacob's God to help him, his hope is in Yahweh his God,
6 The maker of heaven and earth, the seas and all that is in them, Who keeps faith forever,6 who made heaven and earth, the sea and al that is in them. He keeps faith for ever,
7 secures justice for the oppressed, gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free;7 gives justice to the oppressed, gives food to the hungry; Yahweh sets prisoners free.
8 the LORD gives sight to the blind. The LORD raises up those who are bowed down; the LORD loves the righteous.8 Yahweh gives sight to the blind, lifts up those who are bowed down.
9 The LORD protects the stranger, sustains the orphan and the widow, but thwarts the way of the wicked.9 Yahweh protects the stranger, he sustains the orphan and the widow. Yahweh loves the upright,buthe frustrates the wicked.
10 The LORD shall reign forever, your God, Zion, through all generations! Hallelujah!10 Yahweh reigns for ever, your God, Zion, from age to age.
