Psalms 63

¹ O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;	¹ 'Salmo. Di Davide, quando dimorava nel deserto di Giuda.'
² To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.	² O Dio, tu sei il mio Dio, all'aurora ti cerco, di te ha sete l'anima mia, a te anela la mia carne, come terra deserta, arida, senz'acqua.
³ Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.	³ Così nel santuario ti ho cercato, per contemplare la tua potenza e la tua gloria.
⁴ Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.	⁴ Poiché la tua grazia vale più della vita, le mie labbra diranno la tua lode.
⁵ My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:	⁵ Così ti benedirò finché io viva, nel tuo nome alzerò le mie mani.
⁶ When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.	⁶ Mi sazierò come a lauto convito, e con voci di gioia ti loderà la mia bocca.
⁷ Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.	⁷ Quando nel mio giaciglio di te mi ricordo e penso a te nelle veglie notturne,
⁸ My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.	⁸ a te che sei stato il mio aiuto, esulto di gioia all'ombra delle tue ali.
⁹ But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.	⁹ A te si stringe l'anima mia e la forza della tua destra mi sostiene.
¹⁰ They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.	¹⁰ Ma quelli che attentano alla mia vita scenderanno nel profondo della terra,
¹¹ But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.	¹¹ saranno dati in potere alla spada, diverranno preda di sciacalli.
	¹² Il re gioirà in Dio, si glorierà chi giura per lui, perché ai mentitori verrà chiusa la bocca.
