¹ O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;	¹ Salmo. Di David. Quando si trovava nel deserto di Giuda.
² To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.	² O Dio, il mio Dio tu sei, ti cerco con ardore; ha sete di te la mia anima! A te spasima il mio essere, in una terra riarsa, languente, senz’acqua!
³ Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.	³ Così nel santuario bramo di vederti, per contemplare la tua forza e la tua gloria.
⁴ Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.	⁴ Poiché buona è la tua misericordia più della vita; le mie labbra ti lodano.
⁵ My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:	⁵ Così ti benedirò finché vivo; nel tuo nome levo le palme!
⁶ When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.	⁶ Come di adipe e di grasso si sazia la mia anima; con labbra esultanti ti loda la mia bocca.
⁷ Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.	⁷ Oh! ti penso sul mio giaciglio; nelle ore notturne medito su di te,
⁸ My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.	⁸ poiché fosti un aiuto per me; all’ombra delle tue ali esulto.
⁹ But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.	⁹ Si stringe la mia anima dietro a te; mi sorregge la tua destra.
¹⁰ They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.	¹⁰ Ed essi cercano invano la mia anima, andranno alle profondità della terra.
¹¹ But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.	¹¹ Saranno consegnati al filo della spada, saranno pasto di sciacalli.
	¹² Ma il re si allieterà in Dio; potranno vantarsi coloro che giurano per lui poiché certo sarà chiusa la bocca di chi proferisce menzogna.
