Biblia SagradaRevised Standard Version Catholic Edition
Mirad que el Señor, Dios del universo | aparta de Jerusalén y de Judá | apoyo y sustento: | todo sustento de pan, | todo sustento de agua,1 For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, is taking away from Jerusalem and from Judah stay and staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water;
el héroe y el guerrero, | el juez y el profeta, el adivino y el anciano,2 the mighty man and the soldier, the judge and the prophet, the diviner and the elder,
el capitán y el notable, | el consejero, el experto en magia, | y quien sabe de encantamientos.3 the captain of fifty and the man of rank, the counselor and the skilful magician and the expert in charms.
Les daré adolescentes por príncipes, | serán gobernados por muchachos.4 And I will make boys their princes, and babes shall rule over them.
Hay opresión entre la gente: | cada uno subyuga a su vecino, | con arrogancia trata el joven al anciano, | y el villano al hombre respetable.5 And the people will oppress one another, every man his fellow and every man his neighbor; the youth will be insolent to the elder, and the base fellow to the honorable.
Uno aferra a su hermano en la casa paterna: | «Tienes un manto, sé nuestro jefe, | toma el mando de esta ruina».6 When a man takes hold of his brother in the house of his father, saying: "You have a mantle; you shall be our leader, and this heap of ruins shall be under your rule";
Ese día el otro protestará: | «No soy vuestro médico, | en mi casa no hay pan ni tengo manto; | no me pongáis como jefe del pueblo».7 in that day he will speak out, saying: "I will not be a healer; in my house there is neither bread nor mantle; you shall not make me leader of the people."
Tropieza Jerusalén, se derrumba Judá | porque sus palabras y sus obras están contra el Señor, | se rebelan delante de su gloria.8 For Jerusalem has stumbled, and Judah has fallen; because their speech and their deeds are against the LORD, defying his glorious presence.
Su parcialidad testimonia contra ellos; | como Sodoma, publican sus pecados, no los ocultan; | ¡ay de ellos, pues se acarrean su desgracia!9 Their partiality witnesses against them; they proclaim their sin like Sodom, they do not hide it. Woe to them! For they have brought evil upon themselves.
Decid al justo que le irá bien, | comerá el fruto de sus acciones.10 Tell the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their deeds.
¡Ay del malvado: le irá mal, | le darán la paga de sus obras!11 Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him, for what his hands have done shall be done to him.
Pueblo mío, sus opresores son niños, | mujeres lo gobiernan | pueblo mío, tus guías te extravían, | confunden tus senderos.12 My people-- children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, your leaders mislead you, and confuse the course of your paths.
El Señor toma su sitio para el proceso, | se pone en pie para juzgar los pueblos.13 The LORD has taken his place to contend, he stands to judge his people.
El Señor se querella | contra los ancianos y gobernantes de su pueblo: | «Vosotros habéis devastado la viña, | los despojos de los pobres están en vuestras casas.14 The LORD enters into judgment with the elders and princes of his people: "It is you who have devoured the vineyard, the spoil of the poor is in your houses.
¿No os importa oprimir a mi pueblo, | hacer añicos a los pobres? | —Oráculo del Señor, Dios del universo—».15 What do you mean by crushing my people, by grinding the face of the poor?" says the Lord GOD of hosts.
Lo ha dicho el Señor: «Porque las hijas de Sión son altaneras, | andan con el cuello estirado, echando miradas seductoras, | caminan con pasos menudos y hacen sonar las ajorcas de sus pies,16 The LORD said: Because the daughters of Zion are haughty and walk with outstretched necks, glancing wantonly with their eyes, mincing along as they go, tinkling with their feet;
por eso cubrirá el Señor de costras sus cabezas, | dejará el Señor sus sienes a la vista.17 the Lord will smite with a scab the heads of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will lay bare their secret parts.
En aquel día les quitará el Señor sus adornos: ajorcas, bandas y lunetas,18 In that day the Lord will take away the finery of the anklets, the headbands, and the crescents;
pendientes, brazaletes y velos,19 the pendants, the bracelets, and the scarfs;
diademas, cadenillas, cinturones, frascos de perfumes y amuletos,20 the headdresses, the armlets, the sashes, the perfume boxes, and the amulets;
anillos y argollas,21 the signet rings and nose rings;
trajes de fiesta, mantos, chales y bolsos,22 the festal robes, the mantles, the cloaks, and the handbags;
espejos, túnicas, turbantes y mantillas.23 the garments of gauze, the linen garments, the turbans, and the veils.
En lugar de perfume habrá olor de podredumbre, | en lugar de cinturón, cuerda, | en lugar de rizos, calvicie, | en lugar de amplio manto, un saco estrecho, | y en lugar de belleza, una marca de fuego.24 Instead of perfume there will be rottenness; and instead of a girdle, a rope; and instead of well-set hair, baldness; and instead of a rich robe, a girding of sackcloth; instead of beauty, shame.
Tus hombres caerán a espada, | tus guerreros en la lucha,25 Your men shall fall by the sword and your mighty men in battle.
gemirán y harán luto tus puertas, | desolada te sentarás en el suelo.26 And her gates shall lament and mourn; ravaged, she shall sit upon the ground.
