Josué 13

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Josué era ya viejo y entrado en años. Yahveh le dijo: «Eres viejo y entrado en años, y queda todavía muchísima tierra por conquistar.	1 Now Joshua had grown old and advanced in years. Yahweh said to him, 'You are now old andadvanced in years, yet there is stil a great deal of territory left to be taken possession of.
2 Esta es la tierra que queda: «Todos los distritos de los filisteos y todo lo de los guesuritas;	2 This is al the territory left: 'Al the districts of the Philistines and the whole country of the Geshurites;
3 desde Sijor, que esta al lado de Egipto, hasta el límite de Ecron por el norte, es considerado como de los cananeos. Los cinco tiranos de los filisteos son el de Gaza, el de Asdod, el de Ascalón, el de Gat y el de Ecrón. Los avitas	3 from the Shihor, facing Egypt, to the frontier of Ekron in the north, is reckoned as Canaanite territory.The five rulers of the Philistines have their seats at Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath and Ekron, respectively; theAvvites are in
4 éstan al sur. Todo el país de los cananeos, y Mearah, que es de los sidonios, hasta Afeqá y hasta la frontera de los amorreos;	4 the south. The entire territory of the Canaanites, and Mearah which belongs to the Sidonians, as far asAphekah and as far as the frontier of the Amorites;
5 luego el país de los guiblitas con todo el Líbano hacia la salida del sol, desde Baal Gad, al pie del monte Hermón, hasta la Entrada de Jamat.	5 and then the country of the Gebalites with the entire Lebanon eastwards from Baal-Gad at the foot ofMount Hermon to the Pass of Hamath.
6 «Yo arrojaré de la presencia de los israelitas a todos los habitantes de la montaña, desde el Líbano hasta Misrefot al occidente: a todos los sidonios. Tú solamente reparte por suertes la tierra como heredad entre los israelitas, según te he ordenado.	6 'All who live in the highlands from the Lebanon to Misrephoth in the west -- al the Sidonians -- I myselfshall dispossess before the Israelites. Al you have to do is to distribute the territory as a heritage for theIsraelites as I have ordered you.
7 Reparte ya esta tierra como heredad entre las nueve tribus y la media tribu de Manasés: se la darás desde el Jordán hasta el mar Grande de occidente; el mar Grande será su límite».	7 The time has come to divide this territory as a heritage between the nine tribes and the half-tribe ofManasseh: from the Jordan as far as the Great Sea in the west, you must give it them; the Great Sea wil betheir limit.'
8 La otra nedia tribu de Manasés, junto con los rubenitas y los gaditas, había recibido ya la parte de la heredad que Moisés les había dado al lado oriental del Jordán, como Moisés, siervo de Yahveh, les había dado:	8 As regards the other half-tribe of Manasseh, this and the Reubenites and Gadites had already receivedtheir heritage, given them by Moses on the further, eastern side of the Jordan, the one which Moses, servant ofYahweh, had already given them:
9 la tierra desde Aroer, que está a orillas del torrente Arnón, y la ciudad que está en medio de la vaguada: y toda la llanura desde Medbá hasta Dibón;	9 The country onwards from Aroer on the edge of the Arnon Val ey, with the town in the bottom of theval ey and the entire tableland from Medeba to Dibon;
10 todas las ciudades de Sijón, rey de los amorreos, que había reinado en Jesbón, hasta la frontera de los ammonitas.	10 al the towns of Sihon king of the Amorites, who had reigned in Heshbon, to the frontier of theAmmonites;
11 Además, Galaad y el territorio de los guesuritas y los maakatitas con toda la montaña del Hermón y todo Basán hasta Salká;	11 then Gilead and the territory of the Geshurites and Maacathites with the whole Hermon range and thewhole of Bashan as far as Salecah;
12 y dentro de Basán todo el reino de Og, que había reinado en Astarot y en Edreí, y era último residuo de los Refaím. Moisés los había batido y desposeído.	12 and in Bashan, the whole kingdom of Og, who had reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei, and was the lastof the survivors of the Rephaim. Moses had conquered and dispossessed these two kings.
13 Pero los israelitas no desposeyeron ni a los guesuritas ni a los maakatitas, de manera que Guesur y Maaká siguen todavía hoy habitando en medio de Israel.	13 The Israelites did not, however, dispossess either the Geshurites or the Maacathites, hence Geshurand Maacah survive inside Israel even today.
14 La tribu de Leví fue la única a la que no se dio heredad: Yahveh, Dios de Israel, fue su heredad, como se lo había dicho.	14 To the tribe of Levi alone no heritage was given; Yahweh, God of Israel, was his heritage, as he hadtold him.
15 Moisés había dado a la tribu de los hijos de Rubén una parte por clanes.	15 Moses had given the tribe of the sons of Reuben a share by clans.
16 Su territorio fue desde Aroer, que está a orillas del torrente Arnón, incluida la ciudad que está en medio de la vaguada, y todo el llano hasta Medbá;	16 Thus, their territory was the entire tableland from Aroer on the edge of the Arnon Val ey, with the townin the bottom of the val ey, as far as Medeba,
17 Jesbón con todas las ciudades situadas en el llano: Dibón, Bamot, Baal, Bet Baal Meón,	17 Heshbon with all the towns on the tableland: Dibon, Bamoth-Baal, Beth-Baal-Meon,
18 Yahás, Quedemot, Mefaat,	18 Jahaz, Kedemoth, Mephaath,
19 Quiryatáyim, Sibmá, y Seret Hassajar, en el monte del valle;	19 Kiriathaim, Sibmah and, in the highlands of the Arabah, Zereth-Shahar;
20 Bet Peor, las laderas del Pisgá, Bet Hayesimot,	20 Beth-Peor, the watered foothills of Mount Pisgah, Beth-ha-Jeshimoth,
21 todas las ciudades del llano y todo el reino de Sijón, rey de los amorreos, que reinó en Jesbón y a quien venció Moisés, igual que a los príncipes de Madián: Eví, Réquem, Sur, Jur, Rebá, vasallos de Sijón, que habitaban en el país.	21 al the towns on the tableland and the entire kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who had reignedin Heshbon; he had been defeated by Moses, and with him the princes of Midian, Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur andReba, vassals of Sihon, formerly living in the country.
22 Al adivino Balaam, hijo de Beor, los israelitas lo habían pasado a cuchillo con otras víctimas.	22 As regards Balaam son of Beor, the soothsayer, the Israelites had put him to the sword with thosewhom they had kil ed.
23 Así el territorio de los rubenitas llegaba hasta el Jordán. Esta fue la heredad de los hijos de Rubén por clanes: las ciudades y sus aldeas.	23 The boundary of the Reubenites was the Jordan and its territory. Such was the heritage of the sons ofReuben, by clans, with the towns and vil ages belonging to them.
24 A la tribu de Gad, a los hijos de Gad, había dado Moisés una parte conforme a sus clanes.	24 Moses had given the tribe of Gad, the sons of Gad, a share by clans.
25 Su territorio fue Yazer, todas las ciudades de Galaad, la mitad del país de los ammonitas hasta Aroer, que está enfrente de Rabbá,	25 Their territory was Jazer, al the towns of Gilead, half the country of the Ammonites as far as Aroerfacing Rabbah,
26 y desde Jesbón hasta Ramat Hammispá y Betonim, y desde Majanáyim hasta el territorio de Lo Debar;	26 and from Heshbon to Ramath-Mizpeh and Betonim; from Mahanaim as far as the territory of Lo-Debar,
27 y en el valle: Bet Jaram, Bet Nimrá, Sukkot, Safón - el resto del reino de Sijón, rey de Jesbón -, el Jordán y el territorio hasta la punta del mar de Kinnéret, al lado oriental del Jordán.	27 and in the val ey: Beth-Haram, Beth-Nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon -- the rest of the kingdom of Sihonking of Heshbon -- the Jordan and the territory running to the tip of the Sea of Chinneroth, on the further, easternside of the Jordan.
28 Esta fue la heredad de los hijos de Gad por clanes: las ciudades y sus aldeas.	28 Such was the heritage of the sons of Gad, by clans, with their towns and vil ages belonging to them.
29 A la media tribu de Manasés le había dado Moisés una parte conforme a sus clanes.	29 Moses had given the half-tribe of Manasseh a share by clans.
30 Su territorio comprendía, desde Majanáyim, todo el Basán, todos los Aduares de Yaír en Basán: sesenta ciudades;	30 Their territory, starting from Mahanaim, was the whole of Bashan, the entire kingdom of Og king ofBashan, all the Encampments of Jair in Bashan: sixty towns.
31 la mitad de Galaad, Astarot y Edreí, ciudades del reino de Og en Basán. Pasaron a ser de los hijos de Makir, hijo de Manasés, de la mitad de los hijos de Makir por clanes.	31 Half of Gilead, with Ashtaroth, and Edrei, the royal cities of Og in Bashan, were al otted to the sons ofMachir son of Manasseh, to half of the sons of Machir, by clans.
32 Esto fue lo que repartió en heredad Moisés en las Estepas de Moab, al otro lado del Jordán, al oriente de Jericó.	32 This was what Moses had conferred in heritage on the Plains of Moab on the further, eastern side ofthe Jordan opposite Jericho.
33 Pero Moisés no dio heredad a la tribu de Leví: Yahveh, el Dios de Israel, es su heredad, como se lo había dicho.	33 To the tribe of Levi, however, Moses gave no heritage; Yahweh, God of Israel, was his heritage, ashe had told him.
