1 «Porque he aquí que en aquellos días, en el tiempo aquel, cuando yo cambie la suerte de Judá y Jerusalén, | 1 'For in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, |
2 congregaré a todas las naciones y las haré bajar al Valle de Josafat: allí entraré en juicio con ellas, acerca de mi pueblo y mi heredad, Israel. Porque lo dispersaron entre las naciones, y mi tierra se repartieron. | 2 I shall gather all the nations together and take them down to the Val ey of Jehoshaphat; there I shal putthem on trial because of Israel, my people and my heritage, for having scattered them among the nations andhaving divided my land among themselves. |
3 Y echaron suertes sobre mi pueblo, cambiaron el niño por la prostituta, y a la niña la vendieron por vino para beber». | 3 They drew lots for my people, bartering a boy for a whore and sel ing a girl for wine to drink. |
4 «Y vosotros también, ¿qué sois para mí, Tiro y Sidón, y distritos todos de Filistea? ¿Queréis exigir paga de mí? Mas, si queréis cobrar de mí, ¡bien pronto he de volver sobre vuestra cabeza vuestra paga! | 4 'And what are you to me, Tyre and Sidon and al you regions of Philistia? Can you take revenge on me?If you take revenge on me, I shal quickly, instantly, make your revenge recoil on your own heads |
5 Vosotros que arrebatasteis mi plata y mi oro, que llevasteis a vuestros templos mis mejores alhajas, | 5 for having taken my silver and gold away and carried off my valuable treasures to your temples, |
6 y a los hijos de Judá y Jerusalén los vendisteis a los hijos de Yaván, para alejarlos de su término. | 6 and for having sold the children of Judah and Jerusalem to the Ionians, to be taken far away from theirown frontiers. |
7 He aquí que yo los voy a reclamar del lugar donde los vendisteis, y volveré sobre vuestra cabeza vuestra paga: | 7 Look, I shal rouse them from the places to which you have sold them; I shall make your actions recoilon your own heads |
8 venderé vuestros hijos y vuestras hijas en manos de los hijos de Judá, y ellos los venderán a los sabeos, a una nación lejana, ¡porque ha hablado Yahveh!» | 8 by sel ing your sons and daughters to the sons of Judah, who in turn wil sel them to the Sabaeans, to anation far away- Yahweh has spoken!' |
9 Publicad esto entre las naciones: ¡Proclamad la guerra, incitad a los bravos! ¡Que avancen y suban todos los hombres de guerra! | 9 Proclaim this among the nations. Prepare for war! Rouse the champions! Al you troops, advance,march! |
10 Forjad espadas de vuestros azadones y lanzad de vuestras podaderas; y diga el débil: «¡Soy un bravo!» | 10 Hammer your ploughshares into swords, your bil -hooks into spears; let the weakling say, 'I am tough!' |
11 ¡Daos prisa, venid, naciones todas circundantes, y congregaos allá! (¡Haz bajar, Yahveh, a tus bravos!) | 11 Hurry and come, al the nations around, and assemble there! (Yahweh, send down your champions!) |
12 «¡Despiértense y suban las naciones al Valle de Josafat! Que allí me sentaré yo para juzgar a todas las naciones circundantes. | 12 'Let the nations rouse themselves and march to the Val ey of Jehoshaphat, for there I shal sit injudgement on all the nations around. |
13 Meted la hoz, porque la mies está madura; venid, pisad, que el lagar está lleno, y las cavas rebosan, tan grande es su maldad». | 13 Ply the sickle, for the harvest is ripe; come and tread, for the winepress is full; the vats are overflowing,so great is their wickedness!' |
14 ¡Multitudes y multitudes en el Valle de la Decisión! Porque está cerca el Día de Yahveh, en el Valle de la Decisión. | 14 Multitude on multitude in the Valley of Decision! For the Day of Yahweh is near in the Val ey of theVerdict! |
15 El sol y la luna se oscurecen, las estrellas retraen su fulgor. | 15 Sun and moon grow dark, the stars lose their brilliance. |
16 Ruge Yahveh desde Sión, desde Jerusalén da su voz: ¡el cielo y la tierra se estremecen! Mas Yahveh será un refugio para su pueblo, una fortaleza para los hijos de Israel. | 16 Yahweh roars from Zion, he thunders from Jerusalem; heaven and earth tremble. But Yahweh wil be ashelter for his people, a stronghold for the Israelites. |
17 «Sabréis entonces que yo soy Yahveh vuestro Dios, que habito en Sión, mi monte santo. Santa será Jerusalén, y los extranjeros no pasarán más por ella». | 17 'Then you will know that I am Yahweh your God residing on Zion, my holy mountain. Jerusalem wilthen be a sanctuary, no foreigners will overrun it ever again.' |
18 Sucederá aquel día que los montes destilarán vino y las colinas fluirán leche; por todas las torrenteras de Judá fluirán las aguas; y una fuente manará de la Casa de Yahveh que regará el valle de las Acacias. | 18 When that Day comes, the mountains will run with new wine and the hil s wil flow with milk, and al thestream-beds of Judah will run with water. A fountain wil spring from Yahweh's Temple and water the Gorge ofthe Acacias. |
19 Egipto quedará hecho una desolación, Edom un desierto desolado, por su violencia contra los hijos de Judá, por haber derramado sangre inocente en su tierra. | 19 Egypt wil become a desolation, and Edom a desert waste on account of the violence done to thechildren of Judah whose innocent blood they shed in their country. |
20 Pero Judá será habitada para siempre, y Jerusalén de edad en edad. | 20 But Judah wil be inhabited for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation! |
21 «Yo vengaré su sangre, no la dejaré impune», y Yahveh morará en Sión. | 21 'I shal avenge their blood and let none go unpunished,' and Yahweh wil dwell in Zion. |
