1 Sobre Moab. Así dice Yahveh Sebaot, el Dios de Israel: ¡Ay de Nebo, porque ha sido saqueada! Está confusa, ha sido tomada Quiryatáyim. Está confusa la acrópolis y anonadada.	1 Concerning Moab, thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Woe to Nebo, it is laid waste; Kiriathaim is disgraced and captured, Disgraced and overthrown is the stronghold:
2 Ya no existe la prez de Moab. En Jesbón han planeado su ruina: «Vamos y borrémosla de entre las naciones». También a ti, Madmén, se te hará callar. La espada te va a la zaga.	2 Moab's glory is no more. Evil they plan against Heshbon: "Come, let us put an end to her as a people." You, too, Madmen, shall be reduced to silence; behind you stalks the sword.
3 Gritos desde Joronáyim, devastación y quebranto grande.	3 Listen! a cry from Horonaim of ruin and great destruction!
4 Quebrantada fue Moab. Hácense oír los gritos de sus pequeños.	4 Moab is crushed, their outcry is heard in Zoar.
5 La cuesta de Lujit, llorando se la suben, y a la bajada de Joronáyim gritos desgarrados se oyen.	5 The ascent of Luhith they climb weeping; On the descent to Horonaim the cry of destruction is heard.
6 «Huid, poneos en salvo, haced como el onagro en el desierto».	6 "Flee, save your lives, to survive like the wild ass in the desert!"
7 En réplica a tu confianza en tus obras y tus tesoros, también tú eres tomada, y sale Kemós desterrado, sus sacerdotes y jefes a una,	7 Because you trusted in your works and your treasures, you also shall be captured. Chemosh shall go into exile, his priests and princes with him.
8 Viene el devastador a todas las ciudades, y ni una ciudad se salva. Y se pierde el valle, y es asolada la meseta: tal ha dicho Yahveh.	8 The destroyer comes upon every city, not a city escapes; Ruined is the valley, wasted the plain, as the LORD has said.

11 Tranquilo estaba Moab desde su mocedad, y quieto se estaba en sus atalayas. Nunca fue trasegado, ni al destierro marchó. Por eso le duraba su gusto, y su sabor no se picó.	11 Moab has been tranquil from his youth, has rested upon his lees; He was not poured from one flask to another, he went not into exile. Thus he kept his taste, and his scent was not lost.
12 Empero, he aquí que días vienen, - oráculo de Yahveh - en que yo le he de enviar decantadores que lo decanten. Sus vasijas vaciarán, y sus odres reventarán.	12 Hence, the days shall come, says the LORD, when I will send him coopers to turn him over; they shall empty his flasks and break his jars.
13 Se avergonzará Moab de Kemós, como se avergonzó la casa de Israel de Betel, en el que confiaba.	13 Chemosh shall disappoint Moab, as Israel was disappointed by Bethel in which they trusted.
14 ¿Cómo decís: «Valientes somos, y hombres fuertes para la guerra»?	14 How can you say, "We are heroes, men valiant in war"?

17 Lloradle, todos sus vecinos y todos los que conocen su nombradía. Decid: «¿Cómo ha sido quebrantada la vara poderosa, el báculo precioso?»	17 Mourn for him, all you his neighbors, all you who knew him well! Say: How the strong staff is broken, the glorious rod!
18 Desciende del honor y siéntate en la tierra seca, población hija de Dibón, porque el devastador de Moab ha subido contra ti, ha destruido tus fortalezas.	18 Come down from glory, sit on the ground, you that dwell in Dibon; Moab's ravager has come up against you, he has ruined your strongholds.
19 En el camino párate y otea, población de Aroer; pregunta al fugitivo y al escapado; di: «¿Qué ha sucedido?»	19 Stand by the wayside, watch closely, you that dwell in Aroer; Ask the man who flees, the woman who tries to escape: say to them, "What has happened?"

28 «Dejad las ciudades y acomodaos en la peña, habitantes de Moab, sed como la paloma cuando anida en las paredes de las simas..».	28 Leave the cities, dwell in the crags, you that dwell in Moab. Be like a dove that nests out of reach on the edge of a chasm.

33 y fue quitada alegría y alborozo de Carmelo y del país de Moab, y el vino a los trujales he quitado, no se oye el grito alegre del pisador, ya no se oyen gritos.	33 Joy and jubilation are at an end in the fruit gardens of the land of Moab. 34 De tanto gritar en Jesbón, hasta Elalé, hasta Yahas llegaron las voces desde Soar hasta Joronáyim, - Eglat Selisiyyá -, porque también las aguas de Nimrim se han trocado en aridez.	34 The cry of Heshbon and Elealeh is heard as far as Jahaz; they call from Zoar to Horonaim, and to Eglath-shelishiyah, for even the waters of Nimrim turn into a desert.
35 Quitaré a Moab - oráculo de Yahveh - de subirse al alto e incensar a sus dioses.	35 I will leave no one in Moab, says the LORD, to offer a holocaust on the high place, or to burn incense to his gods.

39 ¡Cómo has sido destruida! ululad. ¡Cómo ha vuelto la espalda Moab con vergüenza, y ha venido a ser Moab la burla y el espanto de todos sus vecinos!	39 How terror seizes Moab, and wailing! How he turns his back in shame! Moab has become a laughingstock and a horror to all his neighbors!
40 Porque así ha dicho Yahveh: (Ved cómo cual un águila se remonta y extiende sus alas sobre Moab.)	40 For thus says the LORD: Behold, like an eagle he soars, spreads his wings over Moab.
41 Tomadas fueron las plazas, y las fortalezas ocupadas. (Vendrá a ser el corazón de los valientes de Moab en aquel día como corazón de mujer en parto.)	41 Cities are taken, strongholds seized: On that day the hearts of Moab's heroes are like the heart of a woman in travail.
42 Devastado está Moab que ya no es pueblo, porque contra Yahveh se engrandeció.	42 Moab shall be destroyed, no more a people, because he boasted against the LORD.
43 Pánico, hoya y trampa contra ti, morador de Moab, - oráculo de Yahveh.	43 Terror, pit, and trap be upon you, people of Moab, says the LORD.
44 El que huya del pánico, caerá en la hoya y el que suba de la hoya será preso en la trampa, porque voy a hacer que se llegue a ella, a Moab, el año de su castigo - oráculo de Yahveh -.	44 He who flees from the terror falls into the pit; He who climbs from the pit is caught in the trap; For I will bring these things upon Moab in the year of their punishment, says the LORD.
45 A la sombra de Jesbón se pararon sin fuerza los fugitivos, cuando fuego salió de Jesbón y llama de la casa de Sijón, y devoró las sienes de Moab y el cráneo de los hijos del ruido.	45 In Heshbon's shadow stop short the exhausted refugees; For fire breaks forth from Heshbon, and a blaze from the house of Sihon: It consumes the brow of Moab, the skull of the noisemakers.
46 ¡Ay de ti Moab! Pereció el pueblo de Kemós, pues han sido tomados sus hijos en cautiverio y sus hijas en cautividad.	46 Woe to you, O Moab, you are ruined, O people of Chemosh! Your sons are taken into exile, your daughters into captivity.
47 Pero yo haré volverse a los cautivos de Moab en días futuros - oráculo de Yahveh -. Hasta aquí la sentencia de Moab.	47 But I will change the lot of Moab in the days to come, says the LORD. Thus far the judgment on Moab.
