Jeremías 35

1 Palabra que fue dirigida a Jeremías de parte de Yahveh, en tiempo de Yoyaquim, hijo de Josías, rey de Judá.	1 The word that came to Jeremias from the Lord in the days of Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda, saying:
2 «Ve a la casa de los rekabitas y les hablas. Les llevas a la Casa de Yahveh, a una de las cámaras, y les escancias vino».	2 Go to the house of the Rechabites: and speak to them, and bring them into the house of the Lord, into one of the chambers of the treasures, and thou shalt give them wine to drink.
3 Tomé, pues, a Yazanías, hijo de Jeremías, hijo de Jabassinías, y a sus hermanos, a todos sus hijos y a toda la casa de los rekabitas,	3 And I took Jezonias the son of Jeremias the son of Habsanias, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites.
4 y les llevé a la Casa de Yahveh, a la cámera de Ben Yojanán, hijo de Yigdalías, hombre de Dios, la cual cámara está al lado de la de los jefes, y encima de la de Maaseías, hijo de Sallum, guarda del umbral,	4 And I brought them into the house of the Lord, to the treasure house of the sons of Hanan, the son of Jegedelias the man of God, which was by the treasure house of the princes, above the treasure of Maasias the son of Sellum, who was keeper of the entry.
5 y presentando a los hijos de la casa de los rekabitas unos jarros llenos de vino y tazas, les dije: «¡Bebed vino!»	5 And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups: and I said to them: Drink ye wine.
6 Dijeron ellos: «No bebemos vino, porque nuestro padre Yonadab, hijo de Rekab, nos dio este mandato: “No beberéis vino ni vosotros ni vuestros hijos nunca jamás,	6 And they answered : We will not drink wine: because Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, commanded us, saying: You shall drink no wine, neither you, nor your children, for ever:
7 ni edificaréis casa, ni sembraréis semilla, ni plantaréis viñedo, ni poseeréis nada, sino que en tiendas pasaréis toda vuestra existencia, para que viváis muchos días sobre la faz del suelo, donde sois forasteros.”	7 Neither shall ye build houses, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyards, nor have any: but you shall dwell in tents all your days, that you may live many days upon the face of the earth, in which you are strangers.
8 Nosotros hemos obedecido a la voz de nuestro padre Yonadab, hijo de Rekab, en todo cuanto nos mandó, absteniéndonos de beber vino de por vida, nosotros, nuestras mujeres, nuestros hijos y nuestras hijas,	8 Therefore we have obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, in all things that he commanded us: so as to drink no wine all our days: neither we, nor our wives, nor our sons, nor our daughters:
9 y no edificando casas donde vivir, ni poseyendo viña ni campo de sementera,	9 Nor to build houses to dwell in, nor to have vineyard, or field, or seed:
10 sino que hemos vivido en tiendas, obedeciendo y obrando en todo conforme a lo que nos mandó nuestro padre Yonadab.	10 But we have dwelt in tents, and have been obedient according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
11 Pero al subir Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, contra el país, dijimos: “Venid y entremos en Jerusalén, para huir de las fuerzas caldeas y de las de Arán”, y nos instalamos en Jerusalén».	11 But when Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon came up to our land, we said: Come, let us go into Jerusalem from the face of the army of the Chaldeans, and from the face of the army of Syria: and we have remained in Jerusalem.
12 Entonces fue dirigida la palabra de Yahveh a Jeremías como sigue:	12 And the word of the Lord came to Jeremias, saying:
13 Así dice Yahveh Sebaot, el Dios de Israel: Ve y dices a los hombres de Judá y a los habitantes de Jerusalén: ¿ No aprenderéis la lección que os invita a escuchar mis palabras? - oráculo de Yahveh -.	13 Thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Go, and say to the men of Juda, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Will you not receive instruction, to obey my words, saith the Lord ?
14 Se ha cumplido la palabra de Yonadab, hijo de Rekab, que prohibió a sus hijos beber vino, y no han bebido hasta la fecha, porque obedecieron la orden de su padre. Yo me afané en hablaros a vosotros y no me oísteis.	14 The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, by which he commanded his sons not to drink wine, have prevailed: and they have drunk none to this day, because they have obeyed the commandment of their father: but I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking, and you have not obeyed me.
15 Me afané en enviaros a todos mis siervos los profetas a deciros: Ea, tornad cada uno de vuestro mal camino, mejorad vuestras acciones y no andéis en pos de otros dioses para servirles, y os quedaréis en la tierra que os di a vosotros y a vuestros padres; mas no aplicasteis el oído ni me hicisteis caso.	15 And I have sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising early, and sending and saying: Return ye every man from his wicked way, and make your ways good: and follow not strange gods, nor worship them, and you shall dwell in the land, which I gave you and your fathers: and you have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened to me.
16 Así, los hijos de Yonadab, hijo de Rekab, han cumplido el precepto que su padre les impuso, mientras que este pueblo no me ha hecho caso.	16 So the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have constantly kept the commandment of their father, which he commanded them: but this people hath not obeyed me.
17 Por tanto, así ha dicho Yahveh, el Dios Sebaot, el Dios de Israel: He aquí que yo traigo contra Judá y contra los habitantes de Jerusalén todo el mal que pronuncié respecto a ellos, por cuanto les hablé y no me oyeron, les llamé y no me respondieron.	17 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Behold I will bring upon Juda, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them, because I have spoken to them, and they have not heard: I have called to them, and they have not answered me.
18 A la casa de los rekabitas dijo Jeremías: «Así dice Yahveh Sebaot, el Dios de Israel: Por cuanto que habéis hecho caso del precepto de vuestro padre Yonadab y habéis guardado todos esos preceptos y obrado conforme a cuanto os mandó,	18 And Jeremias said to the house of the Rechabites: Thus saith the Lord of hosts the Cod of Israel: Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and have kept all his precepts, and have done all that he commanded you:
19 por lo mismo, así dice Yahveh Sebaot, el Dios de Israel: No faltará a Yonadab, hijo de Rekab, quien siga ante mi faz todos los días».	19 Therefore thus saith the Lord of host the God of Israel: There shall not be wanting a man of the race of Jonadab the son of Rechab, standing before me for ever.
