| 1 Mirad, no es demasiado corta la mano de Yahveh para salvar, ni es duro su oído para oír, | 1 Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; |
| 2 sino que vuestras faltas os separaron a vosotros de vuestro Dios, y vuestros pecados le hicieron esconder su rostro de vosotros para no oír. | 2 but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you so that he does not hear. |
| 3 Porque vuestras manos están manchadas de sangre y vuestros dedos de culpa, vuestros labios hablan falsedad y vuestra lengua habla perfidia. | 3 For your hands are defiled with blood and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue mutters wickedness. |
| 4 No hay quien clame con justicia ni quien juzgue con lealtad. Se confían en la nada y hablan falsedad, conciben malicia y dan a luz iniquidad. | 4 No one enters suit justly, no one goes to law honestly; they rely on empty pleas, they speak lies, they conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity. |
| 5 Hacen que rompan su cascarón las víboras y tejen telas de araña; el que come de sus huevos muere, y si son aplastados sale una víbora. | 5 They hatch adders' eggs, they weave the spider's web; he who eats their eggs dies, and from one which is crushed a viper is hatched. |
| 6 Sus hilos no sirven para vestido ni con sus tejidos se pueden cubrir. Sus obras son obras inicuas y acciones violentas hay en sus manos. | 6 Their webs will not serve as clothing; men will not cover themselves with what they make. Their works are works of iniquity, and deeds of violence are in their hands. |
| 7 Sus pies corren al mal y se apresuran a verter sangre inocente. Sus proyectos son proyectos inicuos, destrucción y quebranto en sus caminos. | 7 Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood; their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity, desolation and destruction are in their highways. |
| 8 Camino de paz no conocen, y derecho no hay en sus pasos. Tuercen sus caminos para provecho propio, ninguno de los que por ellos pasan conoce la paz. | 8 The way of peace they know not, and there is no justice in their paths; they have made their roads crooked, no one who goes in them knows peace. |
| 9 Por eso se alejó de nosotros el derecho y no nos alcanzó la justicia. Esperábamos la luz, y hubo tinieblas, la claridad, y anduvimos en oscuridad. | 9 Therefore justice is far from us, and righteousness does not overtake us; we look for light, and behold, darkness, and for brightness, but we walk in gloom. |
| 10 Palpamos la pared como los ciegos y como los que no tienen ojos vacilamos. Tropezamos al mediodía como si fuera al anochecer, y habitamos entre los sanos como los muertos. | 10 We grope for the wall like the blind, we grope like those who have no eyes; we stumble at noon as in the twilight, among those in full vigor we are like dead men. |
| 11 Todos nosotros gruñimos como osos y zureamos sin cesar como palomas. Esperamos el derecho y no hubo, la salvación, y se alejó de nosotros. | 11 We all growl like bears, we moan and moan like doves; we look for justice, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far from us. |
| 12 Porque fueron muchas nuestras rebeldías delante de ti, y nuestros pecados testifican contra nosotros, pues nuestras rebeldías nos acompañan y conocemos nuestras culpas: | 12 For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us; for our transgressions are with us, and we know our iniquities: |
| 13 rebelarse y renegar de Yahveh, apartarse de seguir a nuestro Dios, hablar de opresión y revueltas, concebir y musitar en el corazón palabras engañosas. | 13 transgressing, and denying the LORD, and turning away from following our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart lying words. |
| 14 Porque ha sido rechazado el juicio y la justicia queda lejos. Porque la verdad en la plaza ha tropezado y la rectitud no puede entrar. | 14 Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands afar off; for truth has fallen in the public squares, and uprightness cannot enter. |
| 15 La verdad se echa en falta y el que se aparta del mal es despojado. Lo vio Yahveh y pareció mal a sus ojos que no hubiera derecho. | 15 Truth is lacking, and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. The LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no justice. |
| 16 Vio que no había nadie y se maravilló de que no hubiera intercesor. Entonces le salvó su brazo y su justicia le sostuvo. | 16 He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no one to intervene; then his own arm brought him victory, and his righteousness upheld him. |
| 17 Se puso la justicia como coraza y el casco de salvación en su cabeza. Se puso como túnica vestidos de venganza y se vistió el celo como un manto. | 17 He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation upon his head; he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and wrapped himself in fury as a mantle. |
| 18 Según los merecimientos así pagará: ira para sus opresores y represalia para sus enemigos. Dará a las islas su merecido. | 18 According to their deeds, so will he repay, wrath to his adversaries, requital to his enemies; to the coastlands he will render requital. |
| 19 Temerán desde Occidente el nombre de Yahveh y desde el Oriente verán su gloria, pues vendrá como un torrente encajonado contra el que irrumpe con fuerza el soplo de Yahveh. | 19 So they shall fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun; for he will come like a rushing stream, which the wind of the LORD drives. |
| 20 Vendrá a Sión para rescatar, a aquellos de Jacob que se conviertan de su rebeldía. - Oráculo de Yahveh -. | 20 "And he will come to Zion as Redeemer, to those in Jacob who turn from transgression, says the LORD. |
| 21 Cuanto a mí, esta es la alianza con ellos, dice Yahveh. Mi espíritu que ha venido sobre ti y mis palabras que he puesto en tus labios no caerán de tu boca ni de la boca de tu descendencia ni de la boca de la descendencia de tu descendencia, dice Yahveh, desde ahora y para siempre. | 21 "And as for me, this is my covenant with them, says the LORD: my spirit which is upon you, and my words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouth of your children, or out of the mouth of your children's children, says the LORD, from this time forth and for evermore." |
