| 1 Ezequías envió mensajeros a todo Israel y Judá, y escribió también cartas a Efraím y Manasés, para que viniesen a la Casa de Yahveh, en Jerusalén, a fin de celebrar la Pascua en honor de Yahveh, el Dios de Israel. | 1 Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, to keep the passover to the LORD the God of Israel. |
| 2 Pues el rey y sus jefes y toda la asamblea de Jerusalén habían determinado celebrar la Pascua en el mes segundo, | 2 For the king and his princes and all the assembly in Jerusalem had taken counsel to keep the passover in the second month-- |
| 3 ya que no fue posible celebrarla a su debido tiempo, porque los sacerdotes no se habían santificado en número suficienté y el pueblo no se había reunido en Jerusalén. | 3 for they could not keep it in its time because the priests had not sanctified themselves in sufficient number, nor had the people assembled in Jerusalem-- |
| 4 Pareció bien esto a los ojos del rey y de toda la asamblea. | 4 and the plan seemed right to the king and all the assembly. |
| 5 Y decidieron enviar aviso a todo Israel, desde Berseba hasta Dan, para que vinieran a Jerusalén a celebrar la Pascua en que eran muchos los que no la habían celebrado según lo escrito. | 5 So they decreed to make a proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beer-sheba to Dan, that the people should come and keep the passover to the LORD the God of Israel, at Jerusalem; for they had not kept it in great numbers as prescribed. |
| 6 Los correos, con las cartas del rey y de sus jefes, recorrieron todo Israel y Judá, como el rey lo había mandado y decían: «Hijos de Israel, volveos a Yahveh, el Dios de Abraham, de Isaac y de Israel, y él se volverá al resto que ha quedado de vosotros, los que han escapado de la mano de los reyes de Asiria. | 6 So couriers went throughout all Israel and Judah with letters from the king and his princes, as the king had commanded, saying, "O people of Israel, return to the LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, that he may turn again to the remnant of you who have escaped from the hand of the kings of Assyria. |
| 7 No seáis como vuestros padres y vuestros hermanos, que fueron infieles a Yahveh, el Dios de sus padres; por lo cual él los entregó a la desolación, como estáis viendo. | 7 Do not be like your fathers and your brethren, who were faithless to the LORD God of their fathers, so that he made them a desolation, as you see. |
| 8 Ahora, no endurezcáis vuestra cerviz como vuestros padres; dad la mano a Yahveh, venid a su santuario, que él ha santificado para siempre; servid a Yahveh, vuestro Dios, y se apartará de vosotros el furor de su ira. | 8 Do not now be stiff-necked as your fathers were, but yield yourselves to the LORD, and come to his sanctuary, which he has sanctified for ever, and serve the LORD your God, that his fierce anger may turn away from you. |
| 9 Porque si os volvéis a Yahveh, vuestros hermanos y vuestros hijos hallarán misericordia ante aquellos que los llevaron cautivos, y volverán a esta tierra, pues Yahveh vuestro Dios es clemente y misericordioso, y no apartará de vosotros su rostro, si vosotros os convertís a él». | 9 For if you return to the LORD, your brethren and your children will find compassion with their captors, and return to this land. For the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him." |
| 10 Los correos pasaron de ciudad en ciudad por el país de Efraím y de Manasés, llegaron hasta Zabulón; pero se reían y se burlaban de ellos. | 10 So the couriers went from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, and as far as Zebulun; but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them. |
| 11 Sin embargo, hubo hombres de Aser, de Manasés y de Zabulón que se humillaron y vinieron a Jerusalén. | 11 Only a few men of Asher, of Manasseh, and of Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem. |
| 12 También en Judá se dejó sentir la mano de Dios, que les dio corazón unánime para cumplir el mandamiento del rey y de los jefes, según la palabra de Yahveh. | 12 The hand of God was also upon Judah to give them one heart to do what the king and the princes commanded by the word of the LORD. |
| 13 Se reunió en Jerusalén mucha gente para celebrar la fiesta de los Azimos en el mes segundo; era una asamblea muy grande. | 13 And many people came together in Jerusalem to keep the feast of unleavened bread in the second month, a very great assembly. |
| 14 Y se levantaron y quitaron los altares que había en Jerusalén; quitaron también todos los altares de incienso y los arrojaron al torrente Cedrón. | 14 They set to work and removed the altars that were in Jerusalem, and all the altars for burning incense they took away and threw into the Kidron valley. |
| 15 Inmolaron la Pascua el día catorce del mes segundo. También los sacerdotes y los levitas, llenos de confusión, se santificaron y trajeron holocaustos a la Casa de Yahveh. | 15 And they killed the passover lamb on the fourteenth day of the second month. And the priests and the Levites were put to shame, so that they sanctified themselves, and brought burnt offerings into the house of the LORD. |
| 16 Ocuparon sus puestos según su reglamento, conforme a la Ley de Moisés, hombre de Dios; y los sacerdotes rociaban con la sangre que recibían de mano de los levitas. | 16 They took their accustomed posts according to the law of Moses the man of God; the priests sprinkled the blood which they received from the hand of the Levites. |
| 17 Y como muchos de la asamblea no se habían santificado, los levitas fueron encargados de inmolar los corderos pascuales para todos los que no se hallaban puros, a fin de santificarlos para Yahveh. | 17 For there were many in the assembly who had not sanctified themselves; therefore the Levites had to kill the passover lamb for every one who was not clean, to make it holy to the LORD. |
| 18 Pues una gran parte del pueblo, muchos de Efraím, de Manasés, de Isacar y de Zabulón, no se habían purificado, y con todo comieron la Pascua sin observar lo escrito. Pero Ezequías oró por ellos diciendo: «¡Que Yahveh, que es bueno, perdone a todos aquellos | 18 For a multitude of the people, many of them from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet they ate the passover otherwise than as prescribed. For Hezekiah had prayed for them, saying, "The good LORD pardon every one |

| 20 Y oyó Yahveh a Ezequías y dejó salvo al pueblo. | 20 And the LORD heard Hezekiah, and healed the people. |
| 21 Los israelitas que estaban en Jerusalén celebraron la fiesta de los Azimos por siete días con gran alegría; mientras los levitas y los sacerdotes alababan a Yahveh todos los días con todas sus fuerzas. | 21 And the people of Israel that were present at Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness; and the Levites and the priests praised the LORD day by day, singing with all their might to the LORD. |
| 22 Ezequías habló al corazón de todos los levitas que tenían perfecto conocimiento de Yahveh. Comieron durante los siete días las víctimas de la solemnidad, sacrificando sacrificos de comunión y alabando a Yahveh, el Dios de sus padres. | 22 And Hezekiah spoke encouragingly to all the Levites who showed good skill in the service of the LORD. So the people ate the food of the festival for seven days, sacrificing peace offerings and giving thanks to the LORD the God of their fathers. |
| 23 Toda la asamblea resolvió celebrar la solemnidad por otros siete días, y la celebraron con júbilo siete días más. | 23 Then the whole assembly agreed together to keep the feast for another seven days; so they kept it for another seven days with gladness. |
| 24 Porque Ezequías, rey de Judá, había reservado para toda la asamblea mil novillos y 7.000 ovejas. Los jefes, por su parte, habían reservado para la asamblea mil novillos y 10.000 ovejas, pues ya se habían santificado muchos sacerdotes. | 24 For Hezekiah king of Judah gave the assembly a thousand bulls and seven thousand sheep for offerings, and the princes gave the assembly a thousand bulls and ten thousand sheep. And the priests sanctified themselves in great numbers. |
| 25 Toda la asamblea de Judá, los sacerdotes y los levitas y también toda la asamblea que había venido de Israel y los forasteros venidos de la tierra de Israel, lo mismo que los que habitaban en Judá, se llenaron de alegría. | 25 The whole assembly of Judah, and the priests and the Levites, and the whole assembly that came out of Israel, and the sojourners who came out of the land of Israel, and the sojourners who dwelt in Judah, rejoiced. |
| 26 Hubo gran gozo en Jerusalén; porque desde los días de Salomón, hijo de David, rey de Israel, no se había hecho cosa semejante en Jerusalén. | 26 So there was great joy in Jerusalem, for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there had been nothing like this in Jerusalem. |
| 27 Después se levantaron los sacerdotes y los levitas, y bendijeron al pueblo; y fue oída su voz, y su oración penetró en el cielo, su santa morada. | 27 Then the priests and the Levites arose and blessed the people, and their voice was heard, and their prayer came to his holy habitation in heaven. |
