1 Empezó, pues, Salomón a edificar la Casa de Yahveh en Jerusalén, en el monte Moria, donde Dios se había manifestado a su padre David, en el lugar donde David había hecho los preparativos, en la era de Ornán el jebuseo.	1 Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, which had been pointed out to his father David, on the spot which David had selected, the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
2 Dio comienzo a las obras el segundo mes del año cuarto de su reinado.	2 He began to build in the second month of the fourth year of his reign.
3 Este es el plano sobre el que Salomón edificó la Casa de Dios: sesenta codos de longitud, en codos de medida antigua, y veinte codos de anchura.	3 These were the specifications laid down by Solomon for building the house of God: the length was sixty cubits according to the old measure, and the width was twenty cubits;
4 El Ulam que estaba delante del Hekal de la Casa tenía una longitud de veinte codos, correspondiente al ancho de la Casa, y una altura de 120. 6 Para adornar la Casa la revistió también de piedras preciosas; el oro era oro de Parvayim.	6 He also decorated the building with precious stones.
7 Recubrió de oro la Casa, las vigas, los umbrales, sus paredes y sus puertas, y esculpió querubines sobre las paredes.	7 The house, its beams and thresholds, as well as its walls and its doors, he overlaid with gold, and he engraved cherubim upon the walls. (The gold was from Parvaim.)
8 Construyó también la sala del Santo de los Santos, cuya longitud, correspondiente al ancho de la Casa, era de veinte codos, y su anchura igualmente de veinte codos. Lo revistió de oro puro, que pesaba seiscientos talentos.	8 He also made the room of the holy of holies. Its length corresponded to the width of the house, twenty cubits, and its width was also twenty cubits. He overlaid it with fine gold to the amount of six hundred talents.
9 Los clavos de oro pesaban cincuenta siclos. Cubrió también de oro las salas altas.	9 The weight of the nails was fifty gold shekels. The upper chambers he likewise covered with gold.
10 En el interior de la sala del Santo de los Santos hizo dos querubines, de obra esculpida, que revistió de oro.	10 For the room of the holy of holies he made two cherubim of carved workmanship, which were then overlaid with gold.
11 Las alas de los querubines tenían veinte codos de largo. Un ala era de cinco codos y tocaba la pared de la sala; la otra ala tenía también cinco codos y tocaba el ala del otro querubín.	11 The wings of the cherubim spanned twenty cubits:
12 El ala del segundo querubín era de cinco codos y tocaba la pared de la sala; la otra ala tenía también cinco codos y pegaba con el ala del primer querubín.	12 one wing of each cherub, five cubits in length, extended to a wall of the building, while the other wing, also five cubits in length, touched the corresponding wing of the second cherub.
13 Las alas desplegadas de estos querubines medían veinte codos. Estaban de pie, y con sus caras vueltas hacia la sala.	13 The combined wingspread of the two cherubim was thus twenty cubits. They stood upon their own feet, facing toward the nave.
14 Hizo también el velo de púrpura violeta, púrpura escarlata, carmesí y lino fino, y en él hizo poner querubines.	14 He made the veil of violet, purple, crimson and fine linen, and had cherubim embroidered upon it.
15 Delante de la sala hizo dos columnas de 35 codos de alto. El capitel que las coronaba tenía cinco codos.	15 In front of the building he set two columns thirty-five cubits high; the capital topping each was of five cubits.
16 En el Debir hizo cadenillas y las colocó sobre los remates de las columnas; hizo también cien granadas, que puso en las cadenillas.	16 He worked out chains in the form of a collar with which he encircled the capitals of the columns, and he made a hundred pomegranates which he set on the chains.
17 Erigió las columnas delante del Hekal, una a la derecha y otra a la izquierda, y llamó a la de la derecha Yakín y a la de la izquierda Boaz.	17 He set up the columns to correspond with the nave, one for the right side and the other for the left, and he called the one to the right Jachin and the one to the left Boaz.
