1 Eliseo dijo a la mujer cuyo hijo había resucitado: «Levántate y vete, tú y tu casa, a residir donde puedas, porque Yahveh ha llamado al hambre y viene ya hacia la tierra por siete años».	1 Now Elisha spoke to the woman, whose son he had caused to live, saying: “Rise up. Go, you and your household, and sojourn in whatever place you can find. For the Lord has called forth a famine, and it shall overwhelm the land for seven years.”
2 Se levantó la mujer e hizo según la palabra del hombre de Dios; se fue ella y su familia a vivir en tierra de filisteos siete años.	2 And she rose up, and she acted in accord with the word of the man of God. And going with her household, she sojourned in the land of the Philistines for many days.
3 Al cabo de los siete años volvió la mujer del país de los filisteos y fue a apelar al rey por su casa y por su campo.	3 And when the seven years had ended, the woman returned from the land of the Philistines. And she departed, so that she might petition the king on behalf of her house and on behalf of her fields.
4 Estaba el rey hablando con Guejazí, criado del hombre de Dios, y le decía: «Cuéntame todas las grandes cosas que hizo Eliseo».	4 Now the king was speaking with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, “Describe for me all the great deeds that Elisha has done.”
5 Estaba él contando al rey cómo había resucitado al muerto, cuando llegó la mujer, cuyo hijo había resucitado, para apelar al rey por su casa y su campo y dijo Guejazí: «¡Oh mi señor! Esta es la mujer y éste su hijo, al que resucitó Eliseo».	5 And as he was describing for the king the manner in which he had raised the dead, the woman appeared, whose son he had restored to life, crying out to the king on behalf of her house and on behalf of her fields. And Gehazi said, “My lord the king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha raised up.”
6 Preguntó el rey a la mujer y ella se lo relató; el rey puso un eunuco a disposición de la mujer diciendo: «Que se le devuelva todo lo suyo, con todos los productos del campo, desde el día en que ella abandonó la tierra hasta ahora».	6 And the king questioned the woman. And she explained it to him. And the king appointed a eunuch to her, saying, “Restore to her all that is hers, with all the proceeds of the fields, from the day that she left the land until the present.”
7 Eliseo fue a Damasco. Ben Hadad, rey de Aram, estaba enfermo y le avisaron: «El hombre de Dios ha venido aquí».	7 Also, Elisha arrived in Damascus, and Benhadad, the king of Syria, was ill. And they reported to him, saying, “The man of God has arrived here.”
8 Dijo el rey a Jazael: «Toma en tu mano un presente y vete al encuentro del hombre de Dios y consulta a Yahveh por su medio diciendo: ¿Sobreviviré a esta enfermedad?»	8 And the king said to Hazael: “Take with you gifts. And go to meet the man of God. And consult the Lord through him, saying: ‘Will I be able to escape from this, my infirmity?’ ”
9 Fue Jazael a su encuentro llevando en su mano un presente de todo lo mejor de Damasco, la carga de cuarenta camellos; entró, se detuvo ante él y dijo: «Tu hijo Ben Hadad, rey de Aram, me ha enviado a ti para preguntarte: ¿Sobreviviré a esta enfermedad?»	9 And so, Hazael went to meet him, having with him gifts, and all the goods of Damascus, the burdens of forty camels. And when he had stood before him, he said: “Your son, Benhadad, the king of Syria, sent me to you, saying: ‘Will I be able to be healed from this, my infirmity?’ ”
10 Eliseo le dijo: «Vete y dile: “Puedes vivir”; pero Yahveh me ha hecho ver que de cierto morirá».	10 And Elisha said to him: “Go, tell him: ‘You will be healed.’ But the Lord has revealed to me that, dying he shall die.”
11 Y se inmovilizaron sus facciones quedándose rígido en extremo, y rompió a llorar el varón de Dios.	11 And he stood beside him, and he was so troubled that his face became flushed. And the man of God wept.
12 Dijo Jazael: «¿Por qué llora mi señor?» Le respondió: «Porque sé el mal que vas a hacer a los israelitas: pasarás a fuego sus fortalezas, matarás a espada a sus mejores, aplastarás a sus pequeñuelos y abrirás el vientre a sus embarazadas».	12 And Hazael said to him, “Why is my lord weeping?” And he said: “Because I know the evil that you will do to the sons of Israel. Their fortified cities you will burn with fire. And their young men you will kill with the sword. And you will destroy their little ones, and tear open the pregnant women.”
13 Dijo Jazael: «Pues, ¿qué es tu siervo? ¿Como un perro hará cosa tan enorme?» Respondió Eliseo: «Yahveh ha hecho que te vea como rey de Aram».	13 And Hazael said, “But what am I, your servant, a dog, that I would do this great thing?” And Elisha said, “The Lord has revealed to me that you will be the king of Syria.”
14 Partió de junto a Eliseo y llegó donde su señor. Le preguntó: «¿Qué te ha dicho Eliseo?» Respondió: «Me ha dicho que puedes vivir».	14 And when he had departed from Elisha, he went to his lord, who said to him, “What did Elisha say to you?” And he responded: “He said to me, ‘You shall receive health.’ ”
15 A la mañana siguiente tomó una manta, la empapó en agua y la extendió sobre su rostro y murió. Reinó en su lugar Jazael.	15 And when the next day had arrived, he took a small covering, and poured water on it, and he spread it over his face. And when he died, Hazael reigned in his place.
16 El año quinto de Joram, hijo de Ajab, rey de Israel, comenzó a reinar Joram, hijo de Josafat, rey de Judá.	16 In the fifth year of Joram, the son of Ahab, the king of Israel, and of Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah: Jehoram, the son of Jehoshaphat, reigned as the king of Judah.
17 Tenía 32 años cuando comenzó a reinar y reinó ocho años en Jerusalén.	17 He was thirty-two years old when he had begun to reign, and he reigned for eight years in Jerusalem.
18 Anduvo por el camino de los reyes de Israel como había hecho la casa de Ajab, porque se había casado con una mujer de la familia de Ajab, e hizo mal a los ojos de Yahveh.	18 And he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahab had walked. For the daughter of Ahab was his wife. And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.
19 Pero Yahveh no quiso destruir a Judá a causa de David su siervo según lo que le había dicho, que le daría una lámpara en su presencia para siempre.	19 But the Lord was not willing to destroy Judah, because of David, his servant, just as he had promised him, so that he might grant a light to him and to his sons, for all days.
20 En sus días se rebeló Edom de bajo la mano de Judá, y se proclamaron un rey.	20 In his days, Idumea drew apart, so as not to be under Judah, and they appointed a king for themselves.
21 Pasó Joram a Saír con todos sus carros. Se levantó por la noche y batió a Edom que le tenía cercado a él y a los jefes de los carros, pero el pueblo huyó a sus tiendas.	21 And so, Jehoram went to Zair, and all the chariots with him. And he rose up in the night, and he struck down the Idumeans who had surrounded him, and the leaders of the chariots. But the people fled to their tents.
22 Así se rebeló Edom de bajo la mano de Judá hasta el día de hoy; también se rebeló Libná. En aquel tiempo...	22 And Idumea drew apart, so as not to be under Judah, even to this day. Then Libnah also drew apart, at the same time.

24 Joram se acostó con sus padres y fue sepultado con sus padres en la ciudad de David, y reinó en su lugar su hijo Ocozías.	24 And Jehoram slept with his fathers, and he was buried with them in the city of David. And Ahaziah, his son, reigned in his place.
25 El año doce de Joram, hijo de Ajab, rey de Israel, comenzó a reinar Ocozías, hijo de Joram, rey de Judá.	25 In the twelfth year of Joram, the son of Ahab, the king of Israel: Ahaziah, the son of Jehoram, the king of Judah, reigned.
26 Veintidós años tenía Ocozías cuando comenzó a reinar y reinó un año en Jerusalén; el nombre de su madre era Atalía, hija de Omrí, rey de Israel.	26 Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he had begun to reign, and he reigned for one year in Jerusalem. 28 Partió con Joram, hijo de Ajab, para hacer la guerra a Jazael, rey de Aram, en Ramot de Galaad, y los arameos hirieron a Joram.	28 Also, he went with Joram, the son of Ahab, in order to fight against Hazael, the king of Syria, at Ramoth Gilead. And the Syrians had wounded Joram.
29 El rey Joram se volvió a Yizreel para curarse de las heridas que le habían infligido los arameos en Ramot cuando combatía a Jazael, rey de Aram; Ocozías, hijo de Joram, rey de Judá, bajó a Yizreel a visitar a Joram, hijo de Ajab, porque estaba enfermo.	29 And he turned back, so that he might be cured at Jezreel. For the Syrians had wounded him at Ramoth, fighting against Hazael, the king of Syria. Then Ahaziah, the son of Jehoram, the king of Judah, descended to visit Joram, the son of Ahab, at Jezreel, because he was sick there.
