Philippians 2

1 So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any incentive of love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy,	1 Si queréis darme el consuelo de Cristo y aliviarme con vuestro amor, si nos une el mismo Espíritu y tenéis entrañas compasivas,
2 complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.	2 dadme esta gran alegría: manteneos unánimes y concordes con un mismo amor y un mismo sentir.
3 Do nothing from selfishness or conceit, but in humility count others better than yourselves.	3 No obréis por rivalidad ni por ostentación, considerando por la humildad a los demás superiores a vosotros.
4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.	4 No os encerréis en vuestros intereses, sino buscad todos el interés de los demás.
5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,	5 Tened entre vosotros los sentimientos propios de Cristo Jesús.
6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,	6 El cual, siendo de condición divina, | no retuvo ávidamente el ser igual a Dios;
7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.	7 al contrario, se despojó de sí mismo | tomando la condición de esclavo, | hecho semejante a los hombres. | Y así, reconocido como hombre por su presencia,
8 And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross.	8 se humilló a sí mismo, | hecho obediente hasta la muerte, | y una muerte de cruz.
9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every name,	9 Por eso Dios lo exaltó sobre todo | y le concedió el Nombre-sobre-todo-nombre;
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,	10 de modo que al nombre de Jesús | toda rodilla se doble | en el cielo, en la tierra, en el abismo,
11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.	11 y toda lengua proclame: | Jesucristo es Señor, | para gloria de Dios Padre.
12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;	12 Por lo tanto, queridos hermanos, ya que siempre habéis obedecido, no solo cuando yo estaba presente, sino mucho más ahora en mi ausencia, trabajad por vuestra salvación con temor y temblor,
13 for God is at work in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.	13 porque es Dios quien activa en vosotros el querer y el obrar para realizar su designio de amor.
14 Do all things without grumbling or questioning,	14 Cualquier cosa que hagáis sea sin protestas ni discusiones,
15 that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,	15 así seréis irreprochables y sencillos, hijos de Dios sin tacha, en medio de una generación perversa y depravada, entre la cual brilláis como lumbreras del mundo,
16 holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.	16 manteniendo firme la palabra de la vida. Así, en el Día de Cristo, esa será mi gloria, porque mis trabajos no fueron inútiles ni mis fatigas tampoco.
17 Even if I am to be poured as a libation upon the sacrificial offering of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.	17 Y si mi sangre se ha de derramar, rociando el sacrificio litúrgico que es vuestra fe, yo estoy alegre y me asocio a vuestra alegría;
18 Likewise you also should be glad and rejoice with me.	18 por vuestra parte estad alegres y alegraos conmigo.
19 I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, so that I may be cheered by news of you.	19 Con la ayuda del Señor Jesús, espero mandaros pronto a Timoteo, para animarme yo también recibiendo noticias vuestras.
20 I have no one like him, who will be genuinely anxious for your welfare.	20 Porque no tengo a nadie tan de acuerdo conmigo que se preocupe lealmente de vuestros asuntos.
21 They all look after their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.	21 Todos buscan su interés, no el de Jesucristo.
22 But Timothy's worth you know, how as a son with a father he has served with me in the gospel.	22 De Timoteo, en cambio, conocéis su probada virtud, pues se puso conmigo al servicio del Evangelio como un hijo con su padre.
23 I hope therefore to send him just as soon as I see how it will go with me;	23 A él precisamente espero enviároslo en cuanto vea clara mi situación;
24 and I trust in the Lord that shortly I myself shall come also.	24 aunque, con la ayuda del Señor, confío en ir pronto personalmente.
25 I have thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus my brother and fellow worker and fellow soldier, and your messenger and minister to my need,	25 Entretanto, me considero obligado a enviaros de nuevo a Epafrodito, mi hermano, colaborador y compañero de armas, a quien vosotros enviasteis para que atendiera mi necesidad.
26 for he has been longing for you all, and has been distressed because you heard that he was ill.	26 Él os echa mucho de menos y está angustiado porque os habéis enterado de su enfermedad.
27 Indeed he was ill, near to death. But God had mercy on him, and not only on him but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.	27 De hecho, estuvo a punto de morir, pero Dios tuvo compasión de él; no solo de él, sino también de mí, para que no se me añadiera una tristeza a la otra.
28 I am the more eager to send him, therefore, that you may rejoice at seeing him again, and that I may be less anxious.	28 Os lo mando lo antes posible, para que viéndolo, volváis a alegraros, y yo me sienta aliviado.
29 So receive him in the Lord with all joy; and honor such men,	29 Recibidlo, pues, en el Señor, con la mayor alegría; estimad a personas como él,
30 for he nearly died for the work of Christ, risking his life to complete your service to me.	30 que, por la causa de Cristo, ha estado a punto de morir, exponiendo su vida para prestarme, en lugar vuestro, el servicio que vosotros no podíais.
