1 After this David defeated the Philistines and subdued them, and David took Metheg-ammah out of the hand of the Philistines.1 ܘܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܒܬܪܟܢ ܘܡܚܐ ܕܘܝܕ ܠܦܠܫܬ̈ܝܐ ܘܬܒܪ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܢܣܒ ܕܘܝܕ ܠܪܡܬ ܓܡܐ ܡܢ ܦܠܫܬ̈ܝܐ
2 And he defeated Moab, and measured them with a line, making them lie down on the ground; two lines he measured to be put to death, and one full line to be spared. And the Moabites became servants to David and brought tribute.2 ܘܡܚܐ ܠܡܘܐ̈ܒܝܐ ܘܡܫܚ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܚ̈ܒܠܐ ܘܐܫܟܒ ܐܢܘܢ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܡܫܚ ܬܪ̈ܝܢ ܚܒ̈ܠܝܢ ܠܡܩܛܠ ܘܡܠܐ ܚܒܠܐ ܠܡܚܝܘ ܘܗܘܘ ܡܘܐ̈ܒܝܐ ܥܒ̈ܕܐ ܠܕܘܝܕ ܡܩܪ̈ܒܝ ܩܘܪ̈ܒܢܐ
3 David also defeated Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to restore his power at the river Euphrates.3 ܘܡܚܐ ܕܘܝܕ ܠܗܕܪܥܙܪ ܒܪ ܪܚܘܒ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܨܘܒܐ ܟܕ ܐܙܠ ܕܢܗܦܟ ܐܝܕܗ ܒܢܗܪܐ ܦܪܬ
4 And David took from him a thousand and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand foot soldiers; and David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but left enough for a hundred chariots.4 ܘܚܪܒ ܕܘܝܕ ܡܢܗ ܐܠܦ ܘܫܒܥܡܐܐ ܡܪ̈ܟܒܢ ܘܥܣܪ̈ܝܢ ܐ̈ܠܦܝܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ ܪ̈ܓܠܝܝܢ ܘܥܩܪ ܕܘܝܕ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܡܪ̈ܟܒܬܐ ܘܫܒܩ ܡܢܗܝܢ ܡܐܐ ܡܪ̈ܟܒܢ
5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew twenty-two thousand men of the Syrians.5 ܘܐܬܬ ܐܕܘܡ ܘܕܪܡܣܘܩ ܠܡܥܕܪܘ ܠܗܕܪܥܙܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܨܘܒܐ ܘܡܚܐ ܕܘܝܕ ܒܐܕܘܡ ܥܣܪ̈ܝܢ ܘܬܪ̈ܝܢ ܐ̈ܠܦܝܢ
6 Then David put garrisons in Aram of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David and brought tribute. And the LORD gave victory to David wherever he went.6 ܘܐܩܝܡ ܕܘܝܕ ܩܝ̈ܘܡܐ ܒܐܕܘܡ ܘܒܕܪܡܣܘܩ ܘܗܘܘ ܐܕ̈ܘܡܝܐ ܠܕܘܝܕ ܥܒ̈ܕܐ ܡܣ̈ܩܝ ܡܕܐܬܐ ܘܦܪܩ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܕܘܝܕ ܠܟܪ ܕܐܙܠ
7 And David took the shields of gold which were carried by the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.7 ܘܢܣܒ ܕܘܝܕ ܫ̈ܠܛܐ ܕܕܗܒܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܗܘܘ ܥܠ ܥܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܕܗܕܪܥܙܪ ܘܢܣܒ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܘܝܕ ܢܚܫܐ ܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܛܒ ܘܐܝܬܝ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ
8 And from Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, King David took very much bronze.8 ܡܢ ܛܒܚ ܘܡܢ ܒܪܘܬܝ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܗ ܕܗܕܪܥܙܪ
9 When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had defeated the whole army of Hadadezer,9 ܘܫܡܥ ܬܘܥ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܚܡܬ ܕܡܚܐ ܕܘܝܕ ܠܟܘܠܗ ܚܝܠܐ ܕܗܕܪܥܙܪ
10 Toi sent his son Joram to King David, to greet him, and to congratulate him because he had fought against Hadadezer and defeated him; for Hadadezer had often been at war with Toi. And Joram brought with him articles of silver, of gold, and of bronze;10 ܘܫܕܪ ܬܘܥ ܠܝܘܪܡ ܒܪܗ ܠܘܬ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܘܝܕ ܕܢܫܐܠ ܒܫܠܡܗ ܘܢܒܪܟܝܘܗܝ ܥܠ ܕܐܬܟܬܫ ܥܡ ܗܕܪܥܙܪ ܘܡܚܝܗܝ ܡܛܠ ܕܓܒܪܐ ܗܘܐ ܩܪܒܬܢܐ ܗܕܪܥܙܪ ܘܢܣܒ ܒܐܝܕܗ ܝܘܪܡ ܒܪ ܬܘܥ ܡܐ̈ܢܝ ܟܣܦܐ ܘܡܐ̈ܢܝ ܕܗܒܐ ܘܡܐ̈ܢܝ ܢܚܫܐ ܘܐܝܬܝ ܠܕܘܝܕ
11 these also King David dedicated to the LORD, together with the silver and gold which he dedicated from all the nations he subdued,11 ܘܐܦ ܠܗܘܢ ܩ̇ܕܫ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܘܝܕ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܥܡ ܟܣܦܐ ܘܕܗܒܐ ܕܩ̇ܕܫ ܡܢ ܟܘܠܗܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܕܟܒܫ
12 from Edom, Moab, the Ammonites, the Philistines, Amalek, and from the spoil of Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah.12 ܡܢ ܐܕܘܡ ܘܡܢ ܡܘܐܒ ܘܡܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܥܡܘܢ ܘܡܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܦܠܫܬ̈ܝܐ ܘܡܢ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܥܡ̈ܠܩܝܐ ܘܡܢ ܫܘܠܛܢܗ ܕܗܕܪܥܙܪ ܒܪ ܪܚܘܒ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܨܘܒܐ
13 And David won a name for himself. When he returned, he slew eighteen thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt.13 ܘܥܒܕ ܬܡܢ ܕܘܝܕ ܩܪܒܐ ܟܕ ܗܦܟ ܡܢ ܒܬܪ ܕܡܚܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܐܕܘܡ ܒܢܚܠܐ ܕܡܠܚܐ ܚܪܒ ܬܡܢܬܥܣܪ̈ ܐ̈ܠܦܝܢ
14 And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom he put garrisons, and all the Edomites became David's servants. And the LORD gave victory to David wherever he went.14 ܘܐܩܝܡ ܕܘܝܕ ܩܝ̈ܘܡܐ ܒܟܘܠܗ̇ ܐܕܘܡ ܘܗܘܘ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܐ̈ܕܘܡܝܐ ܥܒ̈ܕܐ ܠܕܘܝܕ ܘܦܪܩ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܕܘܝܕ ܠܟܪ ܕܐܙܠ
15 So David reigned over all Israel; and David administered justice and equity to all his people.15 ܘܐܡܠܟ ܕܘܝܕ ܥܠ ܟܠܗ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܗܘܐ ܕܘܝܕ ܥܒ̇ܕ ܕܝܢܐ ܘܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ ܥܠ ܟܠܗ ܥܡܗ
16 And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;16 ܘܝܘܐܒ ܒܪ ܨܘܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܚܝܠܐ ܘܝܘܫܦܛ ܒܪ ܐܚܝܠܘܕ ܡܥܗܕܢܐ
17 and Zadok the son of Ahitub and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar were priests; and Seraiah was secretary;17 ܘܨܕܘܩ ܒܪ ܐܚܝܛܘܒ ܓܠܝܘܢܝܐ ܘܐܒܝܬܪ ܒܪ ܐܚܝܡܠܟ ܟܗܢܐ ܘܫܪܝܐ ܣܦܪܐ
18 and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were priests.18 ܘܒܢܝܐ ܒܪ ܝܘܝܕܥ ܥܠ ܚܐܪ̈ܐ ܘܥܠ ܦܠܚ̈ܐ ܘܒܢ̈ܝ ܕܘܝܕ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܝܢ ܗܘܘ
