1 To David, when he changed his appearance in the sight of Abimelech, and so he dismissed him, and he went away.	1 De Davide, quando se fingiu louco, diante de Abimeleque, e se escapou despedido por ele.
2 I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise will be ever in my mouth.	2 Bendirei o Senhor em todo o tempo: o seu louvor estará sempre na minha boca.
3 In the Lord, my soul will be praised. May the meek listen and rejoice.	3 No Senhor se glorie a minha alma: ouçam-no os humildes e alegrem-se.
4 Magnify the Lord with me, and let us extol his name in itself.	4 Engrandecei comigo o Senhor; exaltemos o seu nome todos à uma.
5 I sought the Lord, and he heeded me, and he carried me away from all my tribulations.	5 Busquei o Senhor, e ele ouviu-me e livrou-me de todas as minhas tribulações.
6 Approach him and be enlightened, and your faces will not be confounded.	6 Olhai para ele, a fim de vos alegrardes e de os vossos rostos não serem cobertos de confusão.
7 This poor one cried out, and the Lord heeded him, and he saved him from all his tribulations.	7 Eis que o aflito clamou, e o Senhor ouviu e o salvou de todas as suas angústias.
8 The Angel of the Lord will encamp around those who fear him, and he will rescue them.	8 O anjo do Senhor assenta os seus arraiais em volta dos que o temem, e os liberta.
9 Taste and see that the Lord is sweet. Blessed is the man who hopes in him.	9 Gostai e vede como o Senhor é bom; ditoso o homem que a ele se acolhe.
10 Fear the Lord, all you his saints. For there is no destitution for those who fear him.	10 Temei o Senhor, vós os seus santos, porque não há indigência para os que o temem.
11 The rich have been needy and hungry, but those who seek the Lord will not be deprived of any good thing.	11 Os poderosos tornam-se pobres e passaram fome; porém os que buscam o Senhor, não terão falta de bem algum.
12 Come forward, sons. Listen to me. I will teach you the fear of the Lord.	12 Vinde, filhos, ouvi-me; eu vos ensinarei o temor do Senhor.
13 Which is the man who wills life, who chooses to see good days?	13 Quem é o homem que ama a vida, e deseja largos dias para gozar bens ?
14 Prohibit your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit.	14 (Para isso) guarda a tua língua do mal, e os teus lábios de palavras dolosas.
15 Turn away from evil, and do good. Inquire about peace, and pursue it.	15 Desvia-te do mal e faz o bem; busca a paz e vai em seu seguimento.
16 The eyes of the Lord are on the just, and his ears are with their prayers.	16 Os olhos do Senhor estão voltados para os justos, e os seus ouvidos (estão atentos) ao seu clamor.
17 But the countenance of the Lord is upon those who do evil, to perish the remembrance of them from the earth.	17 O rosto do Senhor desvia-se dos que fazem mal, para apagar da terra a sua memória.
18 The just cried out, and the Lord heard them, and he freed them from all their tribulations.	18 Os justos clamaram, e o Senhor os ouviu, e os livrou de todas as suas angústias.
19 The Lord is near to those who are troubled in heart, and he will save the humble in spirit.	19 O Senhor está perto dos contritos do coração, e levanta os abatidos de espírito.
20 Many are the afflictions of the just, but from them all the Lord will free them.	20 Muitas são as calamidades dos justos, mas de todas elas os livra o Senhor.
21 The Lord preserves all of their bones, not one of them shall be broken.	21 (O Senhor) guarda todos os seus ossos: nem um só se quebrará.
22 The death of a sinner is very harmful, and those who hate the just will fare badly.	22 A malícia impele o ímpio para a morte, e os que aborrecem o justo serão castigados.
23 The Lord will redeem the souls of his servants, and none of those who hope in him will fare badly.	23 O Senhor livra as almas dos seus servos, e não será castigado quem nele se refugiar.
