Psalms 33

1 To David, when he changed his appearance in the sight of Abimelech, and so he dismissed him, and he went away.	1 (Di David: quando si contraffece davanti ad Achimelec, e, da lui licenziato, se ne andò).
2 I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise will be ever in my mouth.	2 Benedirò il Signore in ogni tempo, ed avrò sempre la sua lode nella mia bocca.
3 In the Lord, my soul will be praised. May the meek listen and rejoice.	3 L'anima mia si glorierà nel Signore: lo sentanogli umili e si rallegrino.
4 Magnify the Lord with me, and let us extol his name in itself.	4 Magnificate meco il Signore, esaltiamo insieme il suo nome.
5 I sought the Lord, and he heeded me, and he carried me away from all my tribulations.	5 Ho cercato il Signore ed Egli m'ha esaudito, m'ha liberato da tutte le mie tribolazioni.
6 Approach him and be enlightened, and your faces will not be confounded.	6 Accostatevi a lui e sarete illuminati, e i vostri volti non avran da arrossire.
7 This poor one cried out, and the Lord heeded him, and he saved him from all his tribulations.	7 Questo disgraziato alzò le grida, e il Signore l'esaudì, lo liberò da tutte le sue tribolazioni.
8 The Angel of the Lord will encamp around those who fear him, and he will rescue them.	8 L'angelo del Signore si slancia intorno a quelli che lo temono e li salva.
9 Taste and see that the Lord is sweet. Blessed is the man who hopes in him.	9 Gustate e vedete quanto è soave il Signore! Beato l'uomo che spera in lui!
10 Fear the Lord, all you his saints. For there is no destitution for those who fear him.	10 Temete il Signore voi tutti, o santi suoi, perchè nulla manca a coloro che lo temono.
11 The rich have been needy and hungry, but those who seek the Lord will not be deprived of any good thing.	11 I ricchi si trovan nel bisogno e patiscono la fame, ma chi cerca il Signore non è privo d'alcun bene.
12 Come forward, sons. Listen to me. I will teach you the fear of the Lord.	12 Venite, figli, ascoltatemi: io v'insegnerò il timor del Signore.
13 Which is the man who wills life, who chooses to see good days?	13 Chi è che brama la vita e desidera vedere dei giorni lieti?
14 Prohibit your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit.	14 Preserva la tua lingua dal male, e i tuoi labbri non parlino con inganno.
15 Turn away from evil, and do good. Inquire about peace, and pursue it.	15 Evita il male e fa il bene, cerca la pace e seguila.
16 The eyes of the Lord are on the just, and his ears are with their prayers.	16 Gli occhi del Signore sopra i giusti, le sue orecchie sono intente alle loro preghiere.
17 But the countenance of the Lord is upon those who do evil, to perish the remembrance of them from the earth.	17 Ma la faccia del Signore è sopra quelli che fanno il male, per disperdere dal mondo la loro memoria.
18 The just cried out, and the Lord heard them, and he freed them from all their tribulations.	18 I giusti alzano le grida, e il Signore li ascolta e li libera da tutte le tribolazioni.
19 The Lord is near to those who are troubled in heart, and he will save the humble in spirit.	19 Il Signore sta vicino a quelli che hanno il cuore afflitto, e salva gli umili di spirito.
20 Many are the afflictions of the just, but from them all the Lord will free them.	20 Molte le tribolazioni dei giusti, ma da tutte li libera il Signore.
21 The Lord preserves all of their bones, not one of them shall be broken.	21 Egli ha cura di tutti i loro ossi: neppure uno di essi sarà spezzato.
22 The death of a sinner is very harmful, and those who hate the just will fare badly.	22 La morte dei peccatori è orribile, e quelli che odiano il giusto ne porteran la pena.
23 The Lord will redeem the souls of his servants, and none of those who hope in him will fare badly.	23 Il Signore riscatta le anime dei suoi servi: non avran pena tutti quelli che sperano in Lui.
