Therefore call, if there are any who will respond to you, and turn to one or another of the saints.1 επικαλεσαι δε ει τις σοι υπακουσεται η ει τινα αγγελων αγιων οψη
Truly, anger condemns the foolish to death, and envy kills the petty.2 και γαρ αφρονα αναιρει οργη πεπλανημενον δε θανατοι ζηλος
I have seen a fool with a strong root, and I have cursed his excellence without hesitation.3 εγω δε εωρακα αφρονας ριζαν βαλλοντας αλλ' ευθεως εβρωθη αυτων η διαιτα
His sons will be far from prosperity and will be crushed at the gate, and there will be none who can rescue them.4 πορρω γενοιντο οι υιοι αυτων απο σωτηριας κολαβρισθειησαν δε επι θυραις ησσονων και ουκ εσται ο εξαιρουμενος
Their harvest, the starving will eat. The armed man will rob him, and the thirsty will drink his resources.5 α γαρ εκεινοι συνηγαγον δικαιοι εδονται αυτοι δε εκ κακων ουκ εξαιρετοι εσονται εκσιφωνισθειη αυτων η ισχυς
Nothing on earth occurs without a reason, and sorrow does not rise from the earth.6 ου γαρ μη εξελθη εκ της γης κοπος ουδε εξ ορεων αναβλαστησει πονος
Man is born to labor, and the bird to fly.7 αλλα ανθρωπος γενναται κοπω νεοσσοι δε γυπος τα υψηλα πετονται
Therefore, because of this, I will beg the Lord, and place my eloquence before God.8 ου μην δε αλλα εγω δεηθησομαι κυριου κυριον δε τον παντων δεσποτην επικαλεσομαι
He does great and unfathomable and miraculous things without number.9 τον ποιουντα μεγαλα και ανεξιχνιαστα ενδοξα τε και εξαισια ων ουκ εστιν αριθμος
He gives rain over the face of the earth and irrigates all things with the waters.10 τον διδοντα υετον επι την γην αποστελλοντα υδωρ επι την υπ' ουρανον
He places the humble on high and encourages the grieving towards health.11 τον ποιουντα ταπεινους εις υψος και απολωλοτας εξεγειροντα
He dispels the thoughts of the spiteful, lest their hands be able to complete what they had begun.12 διαλλασσοντα βουλας πανουργων και ου μη ποιησουσιν αι χειρες αυτων αληθες
He catches the wise in their cleverness and dissipates the counsel of the perverse.13 ο καταλαμβανων σοφους εν τη φρονησει βουλην δε πολυπλοκων εξεστησεν
They will encounter darkness in the daytime, and they will grope at midday just as in the night.14 ημερας συναντησεται αυτοις σκοτος το δε μεσημβρινον ψηλαφησαισαν ισα νυκτι
Thereafter, he will act to save the needy from the sword of their mouth, and the poor from the hand of the violent.15 απολοιντο δε εν πολεμω αδυνατος δε εξελθοι εκ χειρος δυναστου
And there will be hope for those in need, for iniquity will diminish its speech.16 ειη δε αδυνατω ελπις αδικου δε στομα εμφραχθειη
Blessed is the man whom God corrects; therefore, do not reject the chastisement of the Lord.17 μακαριος δε ανθρωπος ον ηλεγξεν ο κυριος νουθετημα δε παντοκρατορος μη απαναινου
For he wounds and he cures; he strikes and his hands will heal.18 αυτος γαρ αλγειν ποιει και παλιν αποκαθιστησιν επαισεν και αι χειρες αυτου ιασαντο
He will deliver you into six tribulations, and in the seventh, evil will not touch you.19 εξακις εξ αναγκων σε εξελειται εν δε τω εβδομω ου μη αψηται σου κακον
During famine, he will rescue you from death, and during war, from the hand of the sword.20 εν λιμω ρυσεται σε εκ θανατου εν πολεμω δε εκ χειρος σιδηρου λυσει σε
You will be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, and you will not fear calamity when it arrives.21 απο μαστιγος γλωσσης σε κρυψει και ου μη φοβηθης απο κακων ερχομενων
In desolation and in famine, you will laugh, and you will not dread the beasts of the earth.22 αδικων και ανομων καταγελαση απο δε θηριων αγριων ου μη φοβηθης
For you are in harmony with the stones of the land, and the beasts of the earth will make peace with you.23 θηρες γαρ αγριοι ειρηνευσουσιν σοι
And you will know that your home has peace, and, concerning your appearance, you will not sin.24 ειτα γνωση οτι ειρηνευσει σου ο οικος η δε διαιτα της σκηνης σου ου μη αμαρτη
Likewise, you will know that your offspring will be manifold and your progeny will be like the grass of the earth.25 γνωση δε οτι πολυ το σπερμα σου τα δε τεκνα σου εσται ωσπερ το παμβοτανον του αγρου
You will enter the grave with abundance, just as a crop of wheat is gathered in its time.26 ελευση δε εν ταφω ωσπερ σιτος ωριμος κατα καιρον θεριζομενος η ωσπερ θιμωνια αλωνος καθ' ωραν συγκομισθεισα
Behold, this is just as we have found it, which you have heard; walk it through your mind.27 ιδου ταυτα ουτως εξιχνιασαμεν ταυτα εστιν α ακηκοαμεν συ δε γνωθι σεαυτω ει τι επραξας
