1 But Baldad the Suhite responded by saying:	1 Bildad il Suchita prese a dire:
2 How long will you throw around words? Understand first, and then let us speak.	2 Quando porrai fine alle tue chiacchiere? Rifletti bene e poi parleremo.
3 Why have we been treated like mules, as if we were unworthy before you?	3 Perché considerarci come bestie, ci fai passare per bruti ai tuoi occhi?
4 You, who ruins your own soul in your fury, will the earth be forsaken because of you, and will the cliffs be moved from their place?	4 Tu che ti rodi l'anima nel tuo furore, forse per causa tua sarà abbandonata la terra e le rupi si staccheranno dal loro posto?
5 Will not the light of the impious be put out, and the flame of his fire refuse to shine?	5 Certamente la luce del malvagio si spegnerà e più non brillerà la fiamma del suo focolare.
6 Light will become darkness in his tabernacle, and the lamp that is over him will be extinguished.	6 La luce si offuscherà nella sua tenda e la lucerna si estinguerà sopra di lui.
7 His strong steps will be constrained, and his own counsel will cast him down uncontrollably.	7 Il suo energico passo s'accorcerà e i suoi progetti lo faran precipitare,
8 For he has caused his own feet to go into a net, and he has walked into its web.	8 poiché incapperà in una rete con i suoi piedi e sopra un tranello camminerà.
9 His heel will be held in a snare, and thirst will rage against him.	9 Un laccio l'afferrerà per il calcagno, un nodo scorsoio lo stringerà.
10 A trap has been hidden for him in the earth, and a decoy, along his path.	10 Gli è nascosta per terra una fune e gli è tesa una trappola sul sentiero.
11 Horrifying things will terrify him everywhere and will entangle his feet.	11 Lo spaventano da tutte le parti terrori e lo inseguono alle calcagna.
12 Let his strength be diminished by famine, and let starvation invade his ribs.	12 Diventerà carestia la sua opulenza e la rovina è lì in piedi al suo fianco.
13 Let it devour the beauty of his skin; let the ancient death consume his arms.	13 Un malanno divorerà la sua pelle, roderà le sue membra il primogenito della morte.
14 Let his confidence be torn away from his tabernacle, and let ruin trample over him like a king.	14 Sarà tolto dalla tenda in cui fidava, per essere trascinato al re dei terrori!
15 Let the companions of he who is not, dwell in his tabernacle; let brimstone rain down upon his tabernacle.	15 Potresti abitare nella tenda che non è più sua; sulla sua dimora si spargerà zolfo.
16 Let his roots be dried up from beneath him, and his harvest be crushed from above.	16 Al di sotto, le sue radici si seccheranno, sopra, saranno tagliati i suoi rami.
17 Let the memory of him perish from the earth, and let not his name be celebrated in the streets.	17 Il suo ricordo sparirà dalla terra e il suo nome più non si udrà per la contrada.
18 He will expel him from light into darkness, and he will remove him from the world.	18 Lo getteranno dalla luce nel buio e dal mondo lo stermineranno.
19 Neither his offspring, nor his descendents, will exist among his people, nor will there be any remnants in his country.	19 Non famiglia, non discendenza avrà nel suo popolo, non superstiti nei luoghi della sua dimora.
20 The last will be astonished at his day, and the first will be overcome with horror.	20 Della sua fine stupirà l'occidente e l'oriente ne prenderà orrore.
21 And so, these are the tabernacles of the sinful, and this the place of he who does not know God.	21 Ecco qual è la sorte dell'iniquo: questa è la dimora di chi misconosce Dio.
