NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; the first heaven and the first earth had disappeared now,and there was no longer any sea.	1 E vidi un nuovo cielo e una nuova terra; il cielo di prima, la terra di prima sono spariti, il mare non esiste più.
2 I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bridedressed for her husband.	2 Ed io Giovanni vidi la città santa, la nuova Gerusalemme che scendeva dal cielo, d'appresso a Dio, pronta come una sposa abbigliata per il suo sposo.
3 Then I heard a loud voice cal from the throne, 'Look, here God lives among human beings. He willmake his home among them; they will be his people, and he wil be their God, God-with-them.	3 E udii una gran voce dal trono, che diceva: Ècco il tabernacolo di Dio cogli uomini: egli abiterà con loro; essi saranno suo popolo e Dio stesso sarà con essi il loro Dio.
4 He wil wipe away all tears from their eyes; there will be no more death, and no more mourning orsadness or pain. The world of the past has gone.'	4 E Dio asciugherà ogni lacrima dai loro occhi, e non vi sarà più morte, nè lutto, nè grida, non vi sarà più dolore, perchè le cose di prima son sparite.
5 Then the One sitting on the throne spoke. 'Look, I am making the whole of creation new. Write this,"What I am saying is trustworthy and will come true."	5 E colui che sedeva sul trono disse: Ecco io rinnovello tutte le cose. Poi mi disse: Scrivi, perchè queste parole son fedeli e veraci.
6 Then he said to me, 'It has already happened. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and theEnd. I wil give water from the wel of life free to anybody who is thirsty;	6 Mi disse ancora: E' fatto. Io son l'alfa e l'omega, il principio e il fine. A chi ha sete io darò gratuitamente della fonte dell'acqua della vita.
7 anyone who proves victorious wil inherit these things; and I will be his God and he wil be my son.	7 Chi sarà vincitore possederà queste cose, ed io gli sarò Dio, ed egli mi sarà figliolo.
8 But the legacy for cowards, for those who break their word, or worship obscenities, for murderers andthe sexual y immoral, and for sorcerers, worshippers of false gods or any other sort of liars, is the second deathin the burning lake of sulphur.'	8 Ma per i paurosi, per gl'increduli, per gli esecrati, per gli omicidi, per i fornicatori, per i venefìci, per gli idolatri, per tutti i bugiardi il posto assegnato sarà nello stagno ardente di fuoco e di zolfo, cioè la seconda morte.
9 One of the seven angels that had the seven bowls ful of the seven final plagues came to speak to meand said, 'Come here and I wil show you the bride that the Lamb has married.'	9 E uno di quei sette Angeli che avevano i sette calici pieni delle ultime piaghe, venne a parlar meco, e disse: Vieni e ti farò vedere la sposa consorte dell'Agnello.
10 In the spirit, he carried me to the top of a very high mountain, and showed me Jerusalem, the holycity, coming down out of heaven from God.	10 E mi portò in ispirito sopra un monte grande e sublime, e mi fece vedere la città santa, Gerusalemme, che scendeva dal cielo, da presso Dio.
11 It had al the glory of God and glittered like some precious jewel of crystal-clear diamond.	11 Essa aveva lo splendore di Dio, e la sua luce era simile a pietra preziosa, come il diaspro, come il cristallo.
12 Its wal was of a great height and had twelve gates; at each of the twelve gates there was an angel, and over the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel;	12 Era cinta di mura grandi ed alte, aveva dodici porte, e alle porte dodici Angeli, e sopra scritti i nomi delle dodici tribù d'Israele.
13 on the east there were three gates, on the north three gates, on the south three gates, and on thewest three gates.	13 A oriente, tre porte; a settentrione, tre porte; a mezzogiorno, tre porte; a occidente, tre porte.
14 The city wal s stood on twelve foundation stones, each one of which bore the name of one of thetwelve apostles of the Lamb.	14 E le mura della città avevan dodici fondamenti sui quali erano i dodici nomi dei dodici Apostoli dell'Agnello.
15 The angel that was speaking to me was carrying a gold measuring rod to measure the city and itsgates and wal .	15 E colui che parlava meco aveva una canna d'oro da misurare, per prendere le misure della città, dello porte e delle mura.
16 The plan of the city is perfectly square, its length the same as its breadth. He measured the city withhis rod and it was twelve thousand furlongs, equal in length and in breadth, and equal in height.	16 La città è quadrangolare, tanto lunga quanto larga. Egli misurò colla canna d'oro la città: era dodici mila stadi; e la lunghezza e l'altezza e la larghezza di lei sono uguali.
17 He measured its wal , and this was a hundred and forty-four cubits high -- by human measurements.	17 Ne misurò anche le mura, che erano centoquarantaquattro cubiti, a misura d'uomo, usata pure dall'Angelo.
18 The wall was built of diamond, and the city of pure gold, like clear glass.	18 E le sue mura eran di diaspro; la città poi era di oro puro simile a terso vetro.
19 The foundations of the city wall were faced with al kinds of precious stone: the first with diamond, thesecond lapis lazuli, the third turquoise, the fourth crystal,	19 I fondamenti delle mura della città erano ornati d'ogni sorta di pietre preziose: il primo fondamento era diaspro; il secondo, zaffiro; il terzo, calcedonio; il quarto, smeraldo;
20 the fifth agate, the sixth ruby, the seventh gold quartz, the eighth malachite, the ninth topaz, the tenthemerald, the eleventh sapphire and the twelfth amethyst.	20 il quinto, sardonico; il sesto, sardio; il settimo, crisolito; l'ottavo, berillo; il nono topazio; il decimo, crisopraso; l'undecimo, giacinto; il dodicesimo, ametisto.
21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate being made of a single pearl, and the main street ofthe city was pure gold, transparent as glass.	21 E le dodici porte son dodici perle, ed ogni porta era d'una sola perla; e la piazza della città, oro puro trasparente come vetro.
22 I could not see any temple in the city since the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb were themselvesthe temple,	22 In essa non vidi alcun tempio; perchè il suo tempio è il Signore Dio onnipotente e l'Agnello.
23 and the city did not need the sun or the moon for light, since it was lit by the radiant glory of God, andthe Lamb was a lighted torch for it.	23 E la città non ha bisogno nè di sole, nè di luna che la illuminini; perchè la illumina lo splendore di Dio, e il suo luminare è l'Agnello.
24 The nations wil come to its light and the kings of the earth wil bring it their treasures.	24 Le nazioni cammineranno alla sua luce, e i re della terra le porteranno la gloria e l'onore loro.
25 Its gates will never be closed by day -- and there will be no night there-	25 E le sue porte non saran mai chiuse di giorno, la notte poi non ci sarà nemmeno.
26 and the nations wil come, bringing their treasure and their wealth.	26 A lei sarà portata la gloria e l'onore dei popoli.
27 Nothing unclean may come into it: no one who does what is loathsome or false, but only those whoare listed in the Lamb's book of life.	27 In essa nulla entrerà d'impuro, nè chi commette abominazione o dice menzogna; ma soltanto quelli che sono scritti nel libro della vita dell'Agnello.
