1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; the first heaven and the first earth had disappeared now,and there was no longer any sea.	1 Alors j’ai vu un ciel nouveau et une terre nouvelle, puisque le premier ciel et la première terre avaient disparu; il n’y a plus de mer.
2 I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bridedressed for her husband.	2 J’ai vu la Cité sainte, Jérusalem, qui descendait du ciel, d’auprès de Dieu, toute parée comme la fiancée qui se fait belle pour son époux.
3 Then I heard a loud voice cal from the throne, 'Look, here God lives among human beings. He willmake his home among them; they will be his people, and he wil be their God, God-with-them.	3 Et j’ai entendu une voix puissante qui sortait du trône. Elle disait: "Voici la tente de Dieu au milieu des hommes; il aura chez eux sa demeure et ils seront son peuple, et lui, Dieu, sera Dieu-avec-eux.
4 He wil wipe away all tears from their eyes; there will be no more death, and no more mourning orsadness or pain. The world of the past has gone.'	4 Il essuiera toute larme de leurs yeux; il n’y aura plus de mort désormais, plus de deuil, de cris ou de peines, car les premières choses ont disparu.”
5 Then the One sitting on the throne spoke. 'Look, I am making the whole of creation new. Write this,"What I am saying is trustworthy and will come true."	5 Celui qui siège sur le trône déclara: "Voici que je fais toutes choses nouvelles.” Il me dit: "Écris que ces paroles sont vraies et dignes de foi.”
6 Then he said to me, 'It has already happened. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and theEnd. I wil give water from the wel of life free to anybody who is thirsty;	6 Il me dit alors: "C’est fait, je suis l’Alpha et l’Oméga, le commencement et la fin. Je ferai boire celui qui a soif, gratuitement, à la source d’eau vive.
7 anyone who proves victorious wil inherit these things; and I will be his God and he wil be my son.	7 Le vainqueur sera le bénéficiaire de ces choses, et puis je serai Dieu pour lui, tandis qu’il sera pour moi un fils.
8 But the legacy for cowards, for those who break their word, or worship obscenities, for murderers andthe sexual y immoral, and for sorcerers, worshippers of false gods or any other sort of liars, is the second deathin the burning lake of sulphur.'	8 Mais les lâches, les infidèles, les abominables, les meurtriers, ceux qui sont débauchés, ou qui jettent des sorts, ou qui adorent des idoles: tous ceux qui vivent dans la fausseté, - leur place est dans l’étang de feu où brûle le soufre. C’est la seconde mort.”
9 One of the seven angels that had the seven bowls ful of the seven final plagues came to speak to meand said, 'Come here and I wil show you the bride that the Lamb has married.'	9 Alors s’est approché de moi l’un des sept anges des sept coupes, pleines des sept fléaux qui seront les derniers, et il m’a parlé: "Viens que je te montre la fiancée, l’épouse de l’Agneau.”
10 In the spirit, he carried me to the top of a very high mountain, and showed me Jerusalem, the holycity, coming down out of heaven from God.	10 Il m’emporta en esprit sur une montagne grande et haute, et il me montra la ville sainte, la Jérusalem qui descend du ciel d’auprès de Dieu, rayonnante de la Gloire de Dieu.
11 It had al the glory of God and glittered like some precious jewel of crystal-clear diamond.	11 Son éclat est celui d’une pierre précieuse, on dirait un jaspe cristallin.
12 Its wal was of a great height and had twelve gates; at each of the twelve gates there was an angel, and over the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel;	12 Sa muraille est large et haute. Elle a douze portes, et douze anges veillent sur ces portes; sur elles sont gravés les douze noms des douze tribus des fils d’Israël.
13 on the east there were three gates, on the north three gates, on the south three gates, and on thewest three gates.	13 Elles sont trois à l’orient, trois au nord, trois au sud et trois à l’occident.
14 The city wal s stood on twelve foundation stones, each one of which bore the name of one of thetwelve apostles of the Lamb.	14 La muraille de la ville repose sur douze lits de pierre qui portent les noms des douze apôtres de l’Agneau.
15 The angel that was speaking to me was carrying a gold measuring rod to measure the city and itsgates and wal .	15 Celui qui me parlait avait une canne à mesurer en or, afin de mesurer la ville, ses entrées et sa muraille.
16 The plan of the city is perfectly square, its length the same as its breadth. He measured the city withhis rod and it was twelve thousand furlongs, equal in length and in breadth, and equal in height.	16 De fait, le plan de la ville est un carré: elle est aussi longue que large. Il mesura la ville avec sa canne et compta 12 000 stades. Longueur, largeur et hauteur sont égales.
17 He measured its wal , and this was a hundred and forty-four cubits high -- by human measurements.	17 Il mesura la muraille: 144 coudées. L’ange utilisait la même coudée que nous.
18 The wall was built of diamond, and the city of pure gold, like clear glass.	18 Des pierres de jaspe forment le revêtement des murs, la ville est bâtie sur de l’or fin semblable à un cristal limpide.
19 The foundations of the city wall were faced with al kinds of precious stone: the first with diamond, thesecond lapis lazuli, the third turquoise, the fourth crystal,	19 Quant à la muraille de la ville, des pierres précieuses de toute sorte rehaussent ses fondations: jaspe pour le premier lit, saphir pour le second, calcédoine pour le troisième, émeraude pour le quatrième,
20 the fifth agate, the sixth ruby, the seventh gold quartz, the eighth malachite, the ninth topaz, the tenthemerald, the eleventh sapphire and the twelfth amethyst.	20 sardoine pour le cinquième, sarde pour le sixième, chrysolithe pour le septième, béryl pour le huitième, topaze pour le neuvième, chrysoprase pour le dixième, hyacinthe pour le onzième, et améthyste pour le douzième.
21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate being made of a single pearl, and the main street ofthe city was pure gold, transparent as glass.	21 Douze perles forment les douze portes: chacune des portes est faite d’une seule perle. Le pavement de la ville est d’or fin qui fait penser à du verre transparent.
22 I could not see any temple in the city since the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb were themselvesthe temple,	22 Je n’y ai pas vu de temple. Le Seigneur Dieu, Maître de l’univers, est lui-même son temple, avec l’Agneau.
23 and the city did not need the sun or the moon for light, since it was lit by the radiant glory of God, andthe Lamb was a lighted torch for it.	23 La ville n’a pas besoin du soleil ou de la lune pour l’éclairer car la Gloire de Dieu l’illumine et l’Agneau est sa lampe.
24 The nations wil come to its light and the kings of the earth wil bring it their treasures.	24 Les nations se dirigeront à sa lumière et les rois de la terre lui apporteront leurs richesses.
25 Its gates will never be closed by day -- and there will be no night there-	25 Ses portes ne se fermeront pas avant la fin du jour, car la nuit là-bas, n’existe pas.
26 and the nations wil come, bringing their treasure and their wealth.	26 On y apportera la gloire et la richesse des nations.
27 Nothing unclean may come into it: no one who does what is loathsome or false, but only those whoare listed in the Lamb's book of life.	27 Rien d’impur n’y entrera, et pas un de ceux qui pratiquent l’abomination et le mensonge, sinon seulement ceux qui sont inscrits au livre de vie de l’Agneau.
