Revelation 21

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; the first heaven and the first earth had disappeared now,and there was no longer any sea.	1 - E vidi un nuovo cielo e una nuova terra; perchè il cielo di prima e la terra di prima se ne sono iti e il mare non c'è più.
2 I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bridedressed for her husband.	2 E [io Giovanni] vidi la città santa, la nuova Gerusalemme, discender dal cielo da [presso] Dio, pronta come una sposa abbigliata per il suo sposo.
3 Then I heard a loud voice cal from the throne, 'Look, here God lives among human beings. He willmake his home among them; they will be his people, and he wil be their God, God-with-them.	3 E udii una gran voce dal trono, che diceva: «Ecco la tenda di Dio tra gli uomini! e' s'attenderà tra loro. Ed essi saranno i suoi popoli, e Dio stesso sarà con loro il loro Dio.
4 He wil wipe away all tears from their eyes; there will be no more death, and no more mourning orsadness or pain. The world of the past has gone.'	4 E asciugherà Iddio ogni lacrima dai loro occhi, e morte non ci sarà più, nè lutto nè grida nè travaglio non ci sarà più; perchè le cose di prima se ne sono ite».
5 Then the One sitting on the throne spoke. 'Look, I am making the whole of creation new. Write this,"What I am saying is trustworthy and will come true."	5 E disse quegli che sedeva sul trono: «Ecco che fo nuove tutte le cose». E dice [a me]: «Scrivi, perchè queste parole son fedeli e vere».
6 Then he said to me, 'It has already happened. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and theEnd. I wil give water from the wel of life free to anybody who is thirsty;	6 E mi disse: «È fatto! Io son l'alfa e l'omega, il principio e la fine. A chi ha sete, io darò della fonte dell'acqua della vita, gratuitamente.
7 anyone who proves victorious wil inherit these things; and I will be his God and he wil be my son.	7 Chi vince, erediterà queste cose, e io sarò Dio per lui e lui sarà per me un figliuolo.
8 But the legacy for cowards, for those who break their word, or worship obscenities, for murderers andthe sexual y immoral, and for sorcerers, worshippers of false gods or any other sort of liars, is the second deathin the burning lake of sulphur.'	8 Ma per i vili e gl'increduli e gli abominevoli e gli omicidi e i fornicatori e gli stregoni e gl'idolatri e per tutti i bugiardi, la parte loro sarà nello stagno ardente di fuoco e di zolfo, ch'è la morte seconda».
9 One of the seven angels that had the seven bowls ful of the seven final plagues came to speak to meand said, 'Come here and I wil show you the bride that the Lamb has married.'	9 E venne uno de' sette angeli, che avevan le sette coppe piene delle sette ultime piaghe, e parlò con me dicendo: «Vieni, ti mostrerò la sposa, la moglie dell'agnello».
10 In the spirit, he carried me to the top of a very high mountain, and showed me Jerusalem, the holycity, coming down out of heaven from God.	10 E mi trasportò in spirito sopra un grande e alto monte, e mi mostrò la città santa, Gerusalemme, che scendeva dal cielo da [presso] Dio,
11 It had al the glory of God and glittered like some precious jewel of crystal-clear diamond.	11 avente [in sè] la gloria di Dio. Il suo luminare [era] simile a preziosissima pietra, come a pietra di diaspro, [era] come il cristallo.
12 Its wal was of a great height and had twelve gates; at each of the twelve gates there was an angel, and over the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel;	12 Aveva grandi e alte mura con dodici porte, e alle porte dodici angeli e nomi scritti sopra, che sono i nomi delle dodici tribù dei figliuoli d'Israele:
13 on the east there were three gates, on the north three gates, on the south three gates, and on thewest three gates.	13 a oriente tre porte, e a settentrione tre porte, e a mezzodì tre porte, e a occidente tre porte.
14 The city wal s stood on twelve foundation stones, each one of which bore the name of one of thetwelve apostles of the Lamb.	14 E la muraglia della città aveva dodici fondamenta, e sovr'esse i dodici nomi de' dodici apostoli dell'agnello.
15 The angel that was speaking to me was carrying a gold measuring rod to measure the city and itsgates and wal .	15 E quegli che parlava con me, aveva una canna d'oro come misura, per misurar la città e le sue porte e le sue mura.
16 The plan of the city is perfectly square, its length the same as its breadth. He measured the city withhis rod and it was twelve thousand furlongs, equal in length and in breadth, and equal in height.	16 E la città giace quadrangolare, e la sua lunghezza è tanta quanta la larghezza. E misurò la città con la canna: dodicimila stadi; la sua lunghezza e la larghezza e l'altezza sono uguali.
17 He measured its wal , and this was a hundred and forty-four cubits high -- by human measurements.	17 E misurò la muraglia di essa: centoquarantaquattro cubiti a misura d'uomo, ossia dell'angelo.
18 The wall was built of diamond, and the city of pure gold, like clear glass.	18 E il materiale della muraglia era di diaspro, e la città d'oro puro, simile a vetro puro.
19 The foundations of the city wall were faced with al kinds of precious stone: the first with diamond, thesecond lapis lazuli, the third turquoise, the fourth crystal,	19 Le fondamenta della muraglia della città [sono] adorne d'ogni sorta di pietre preziose: il primo fondamento [è] diaspro, il secondo zaffiro, il terzo calcedonio, il quarto smeraldo,
20 the fifth agate, the sixth ruby, the seventh gold quartz, the eighth malachite, the ninth topaz, the tenthemerald, the eleventh sapphire and the twelfth amethyst.	20 il quinto sardonico, il sesto sardo, il settimo crisolito, l'ottavo berillo, il nono topazio, il decimo crisopraso, l'undecimo giacinto, il dodicesimo ametista.
21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate being made of a single pearl, and the main street ofthe city was pure gold, transparent as glass.	21 E le dodici porte son dodici perle, una per una: ognuna delle porte era una perla sola. E la piazza della città, oro puro come vetro trasparente.
22 I could not see any temple in the city since the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb were themselvesthe temple,	22 E non vidi tempio in essa; perchè il suo tempio è il Signore Iddio onnipotente e l'agnello.
23 and the city did not need the sun or the moon for light, since it was lit by the radiant glory of God, andthe Lamb was a lighted torch for it.	23 E la città non ha bisogno del sole nè della luna che risplendano per essa; perchè la gloria di Dio l'ha illuminata, e la sua lampada è l'agnello.
24 The nations wil come to its light and the kings of the earth wil bring it their treasures.	24 E cammineranno le genti alla sua luce, e i re della terra porteranno ad essa la lor gloria e l'onore.
25 Its gates will never be closed by day -- and there will be no night there-	25 E le sue porte non saran chiuse di giorno; perchè non ci sarà notte colà.
26 and the nations wil come, bringing their treasure and their wealth.	26 E porteranno a lei la gloria e l'onore delle genti.
27 Nothing unclean may come into it: no one who does what is loathsome or false, but only those whoare listed in the Lamb's book of life.	27 E non v'entrerà nulla d'impuro nè chi commette abominazione e falsità, ma solo gl'iscritti nel libro della vita dell'agnello.
